Open Your Heart With Rose Quartz

I tend to write about healing techniques as I try them out and a few months ago, I was meditating with a Rose Quartz Crystal when I suddenly felt the urge to hold it in my hands and circulate its warm, loving and healing energy through my arms. The feeling was that by doing this, I could also intend for it to flow through my Heart Chakra . Instantly I felt like it opene d my Heart Chakra, mak ing it easier for me to give and receive love which is a key step in opening ourselv es up to abundance of all kinds . I should also mention that I began by grounding myself, as I always do .  If you have a rose quartz please try this at home - if you don't you can still do this meditation by visualizing a huge rose stone in the center of the earth and bringing its energy up through your legs, to your heart, and then circl ing it through your arms. I am still fig uring out the tech details for my video blog but I will be re cording quite a few of these to complement my Cha...

Grounding through my Merkaba Activation - Part 2

My last post was about a workshop called  Awakening the Illuminated Heart , and how grounded I have felt ever since. The class is based on the teachings of a man called Drunvalo Melchizadech. I didn't know what to expect as the teachings are very New Age ( Merkabas , Ascension ,, etc). The class was pretty cool, a heart-based approach to co-creation. One of the big perks for me however, was how my energy field adapted. I now find it a lot easier to ground my energy through my Root Chakra.  This was a big step as I've always been one to ground my through my feet instead of my Root Chakra. Try as I might, I couldn't visualize or feel grounding cords at the base of my spine. If you're wondering, grounding refers to  how well we connect with Mother Earth and how safe we feel in the world. That connection also makes it easier for us to release stress, tension and emotional debris into the ground for cleansing. We can also use our grounding to draw up earth energy, boosti...

Grounding through my Merkaba Activation - Part 1

Last month I attended  Awakening of the Illuminated Heart , a heart healing workshop that taught us how to connect our Brow Chakra to our Heart, so that we could see the world through our Heart and not the mind. This connection is also one that Barbara Brennan references in Hands of Light, telling us that Unconditional Love flows when both of these Chakras are open and connected. The Brow Chakra and its corresponding Aura layer make it possible for us to see the light in others, regardless of who they are to us.  The big reveal at the end of the workshop was a manifesting meditation that we can use to create images with our Heart and Mind, things that you want to bring into your life. I started out visualizing themes like healing, abundance, friendships and a completely healed and whole emotional body so that I can relate to others from a place of wholeness and not old hurts. I think I'm almost there, but there are probably a few experiences that I still need to release...

Grounding 101 (Part 2!)

Last week we talked about how useful it is to develop our intuition and our natural healing abilities. The more we learn to trust our sixth sense, the easier it is to navigate the waters of life. I mention water; because this element is linked to our emotions, and boy  do  they have a tendency to trip us up! Think of a boat sailing through choppy waters, and how eager you would be to get back to shore. That ' s because the earth provides natural stability. Along the same lines, a firm sense of grounding  is  essential for energy workers. Which brings me to this week's topic: grounding! So what is grounding? Let's ask the expert ...  A few months ago I had the pleasure of featuring Justin Bonnet  from Healing for Grounding on my blog. Like so many spiritual seekers, Justin ' s energy is naturally "UP THERE" and he ' s had quite a journey bringing it back to earth. I am borrowing some of Justin's ideas today. I'd like ...

Connecting with London's Trees

One of the things I like about meditating is how things come to life. Today I sat down to open up before my healing session, and the meditation went in a completely different direction. I will usually sit down, fill the room with white light, throw down my roots and then open each of my chakras starting at the root and working my way up. At that point I send my attention to the highest source of light and draw a white beam towards me.  Then I surround myself in a bubble of white light, and off we go!  Today a few extras cropped up along the way: The first thing I did was take a couple really big breaths, and from there I went on to fill the room with white light. It didn't feel like enough though and the whole building filled up with white light. All the way down to the foundations. I saw a huge rectangle of white light rising up from the bottom and clearing all of the energy as it went upwards. It went through each floor and finally towards the sky. I co...

Fighting off the neighbour's cold!

Last week my team was off-site for three days at a conference. We spent the better part of 48 hours around a conference table and then going out for lunch, dinner, breakfast. You name it. One of the regional sales managers went home sick on the last day, nasty cough and cold. By Friday we had another three people down. Today my line manager and desk neighbour came in with a scratchy throat, red eyes, and the urge to sneeze. How do I know she had the urge to sneeze? I started sneezing as soon as she came through the door. And when we sat down for a status update my throat started feeling all scratchy. Foggy head. I've been fighting it off since she walked through the doors, and now that I'm home alone my nose is still sniffling. So annoying! Hopefully my trip to the gym will sweat it out of me. Even now as I'm writing about it I can feel my throat scratching up again.  We talked about this in class a few weeks ago, often we might pick up someone else...

Psychic Development Simplified

A few months ago I stumbled upon a blog called A State of Mind –  for those of you who aren't familiar with it, it is full of articles on how to develop your psychic gifts. The author, Nathaniel, has been on the path for 5 years, and writes about what worked for him in minute detail. Now he’s published a book called Psychic Development Simplified , covering everything under the sun in just enough depth to give the reader a psychic taster and a solid foundation in energy management. It's a great place to start if you're a beginner, and there are a also a few surprises for those of us who have been exploring this for a little bit longer. This is a summary of what you can expect from the book:  Psychic Development Simplified operates on the understanding that it takes at least a year of diligent energy work and meditation before you can open up safely to more advanced techniques. The book lays out a series of exercises that will give you a good grasp of energy mana...
