Soul Healing, Astrology and the Higher Heart Chakra

Did you know that as well as the seven main chakras, we have energy centers in the Aura? These are seen as transpersonal because they take our awareness beyond our individual lives. This awareness can include past lives, the planet and most importantly, the collective experience.

Some of the Transpersonal Chakras are especially relevant when it comes to energy healing & astrology. Tuning into them will open up your natal chart’s gifts & lessons.

I’ve listed these chakras bottom-up because they need to be approached that way or we’ll lose our footing, energetically:

➡️ The Earth Star Chakra is beneath your feet in the ground, connecting you with nature and with the planet’s history. What has happened on Earth, in previous generations, that you still need to heal?

➡️ The Universal Heart Chakra (or Higher Heart) can be found above the classical Heart Chakra, near the Thymus gland. It connects you with your Higher Self, bringing in bigger currents of love from that aspect of your full self. Grounding from the Higher Heart gives you extra strength when channeling planetary energies.

➡️ The Soular (Soul Star) Chakra is about six inches above the head. I tend to see and feel it as a Moon. It has to do with past lives and with your soul’s path. This is also where the energy of your birth chart is stored, which then cascades into the spiritual layer of the Aura. Astrology transits are felt because of the Soular

The energy in the spiritual Aura layer filters through the inner layers of the Aura, as discussed in my book, Chakra Healing & Magick. Healing the emotional and mental Aura layers also makes it easier to perceive spiritual energy around us. This is an essential part of self-healing. The Aura and the seven main chakras are covered in the book. I’ll start to include the transpersonal chakras in my meditations on YouTube.

Energy Healing Meditations

There are lots of ways to work with the astrology chart when we think about energy healing. Activating the Earth Star Chakra releases excess energy into the ground. It also attunes us to plants & crystals, which can be used to harmonize the Aura and our lives. Chapter 1 of Chakra Healing & Magick looks at this.

Please begin with this Earth Star Activation on Youtube. Don't forget to check out the Astrology Tab in the Menu Bar for an introduction to healing & the stars! I have been sharing the basics of astrology on Instagram, this was today's post!

Reach out for energy healing sessions that focus on your natal chart.

ps ... Read my books for an intro to energy healing and intuition. Please note, they lay the foundations but my books do NOT include the transpersonal chakras 🤍

Ask the Angels: What is a Soul (Pre-Birth) Contract? ✨✨✨

I recently discovered a book called The Angel Bible, by Hazel Raven. It is lovely and I would recommend it to anyone who is looking for an in-depth look at angels. It includes a meditation with Archangel Uriel, the GPS angel that helps us find our path and life purpose. The meditation guides us into our Soular (Soul Star) Chakra where we unravel a scroll that tells us what our soul contract is - essentially, agreements made before coming to Earth.

In the meditation, I closed my eyes and pictured myself unraveling the scroll, much like a fortune cookie, only to find myself torching it instead. The message was that we are free to do and be whatever we like (harming none) and to let go of the the belief that I couldn’t choose my future 👩🏻‍🎨

The next feeling was a gentle reminder that all belief systems are an attempt at explaining what we think is going on around us. It’s OK to take these theories and beliefs as tentative roadmaps, but not to take them as absolutes. Sharing this experience in case it resonates.

Below you will find a guided meditation with Archangel Raphael. He activates our intuition through the chakras so that we can receive clear guidance, and also clears stagnant blocks of energy from the Aura. For example, beliefs that limit your options. He is one of the angels that I connect with most often in my work as a healer.

Hazel Raven’s The Angel Bible can be found in bookstores, and if you would like intuition tips, this post covers four things I wish I'd known (with certainty) when I signed up for intuition class in 2010.

Reiki hugs,

Regina

Sacred Sites for Personal Empowerment

One of my psychic school teachers told us he had more than 200 oracle decks. My collection is in the low double digits and to keep it from growing exponentially, I put myself on a one-in-one-out plan where every new acquisition necessarily leads to a gift. It also makes me pause before buying a new deck - is it worth giving up an oracle that I already know and love?

The answer was a BIG YES when I spotted Barbara Meiklejohn-Free's Sacred Sites Oracle Deck in the lobby at school last summer. Instead of angels, tarot or archetypes, we have approximately 52 sacred sites from around the world, ranging from Machu Picchu in Peru, to Petra in Jordan and Mont Saint-Michel in France. Each of these sites has an energy that we can channel for self-healing and empowerment. We can also view the cards as an oracle, asking our guides what issues we need to work on, though it may be more exciting to use them as a prompt for astral travel and meditation. Imagine what it would be like to travel there and connect with its energy. Each of these sacred sites has a lesson to teach us.

I found this deck to be intriguing because the images have three layers to them as well, for extra depth. Barbara Meikeljohn-Free refers to the bottom third of the card as the Lower World, or the Past. The Middle World represents  current opportunities, while the Upper World is where we are headed. I sometimes interpret it as the Subconscious, the Conscious and Divine Guidance. Today I am sharing three messages that came through when I tuned into the cards. Coincidentally, these are cultures I am quite drawn to.

Varanasi, India (Lord Ganesh)

The message today is about cleanliness from a spiritual and emotional point of view - I'm not even sure why I'm using that word, but there is something about the image of the Ganges River washing away our fears, regrets, and mistakes that makes me think of cleanliness. It's about having a pure heart, and not letting the very human experience of fear and anger hold you down. The Ascended Master or guide that comes through is Lord Ganesh, the remover of obstacles. If you are drawn to Ganesh ask for his help removing any internal blocks to progress, as those are usually the most powerful. There is also the message to trust the process of life and to trust God to remove any external blocks when the time is right. See here for my post, Let Go & Let God (or Ganesh)

The Pyramids, Egypt (Osiris):

The British Museum was one of my favorite haunts when I still lived in London. You can visit any civilization just by hopping on the London Underground - and sometimes, the sightseeing begins before you even leave the station. That is where I found this turquoise ankh, the Ancient Egyptian symbol for eternal life. When I began studying ancient religions (for fun!) I was struck by the similarities between this one and Christianity. Both believe in eternal life, a day of judgment where our actions are weighed up and to a certain extent, in miraculous pregnancies even though it's likely Ancient Egyptians saw the myths of Isis, Osiris and Horus as allegories for the human ego's death and the soul's ability to rise above and see clearly - represented by the Eye of Horus. The card in Barbara Meikeljohn-Free's Sacred Sites deck speaks of the Ankh, this symbol of eternal life, and of the Divine Feminine and Masculine. I will let you figure out the meaning for yourself, but balance may be the key. Coincidentally, a friend recommended a book called Initiation by Elisabeth Haich, on the past life memories of an ancient priestess - it's on my to read list! =)

Chichen Itza, Mexico (Kukulkan)

Today I'm drawn to the Lower and Upper Worlds on the Chichen Itza card. The first theme is about self-sacrifice, asking us to reinforce our boundaries and our sense of self-worth. Do you go out of your way to help others, putting yourself on the backburner burner until everyone else's needs are met? If so, it's time to start recognizing your own light, and how it needs attention to shine. This brings me onto the Upper World interprentation - a reference to the Mayan "messiah" known as Kukulkan, a figure who came down to earth to teach us how to heal the sick and even how to resurrect the dead, though Meikeljohn-Free tells us that his mythology was largely wiped out by the Spanish conquistadors. Personally, I find it really interesting when the mythology of several religions starts to overlap, as it can point out a mystical truth that we are all grasping.

Answering Existential Questions with Astrology

I am starting to discover that our life purpose doesn't have to be serious or even all that challenging. A part of me used to think it had to be accomplished; that's the side of me that wanted to go to Harvard and was mostly devastated when I didn't get in. Instead I went to Tufts University, just down the road in Sommerville, MA, and it's probably the best thing that ever happened to me. Tufts was fun. I made great friends from all over the world and I majored in Philosophy which was pretty cool, without having the stress that my few acquaintances at Harvard faced. Tufts was friendly and challenging.

Since then, I also discovered Astrology, a subject that isn't taught at Harvard (as far as I know), but it did make the cut at Tuft's Experimental College. Call me crazy, but Astrology should be offered at every college. If there is a time when finding our place is most critical, it's those formative years before we launch ourselves into the world as young adults. I discovered astrology nearer to my Saturn return (at 27-28) and the perspective it gave me has been invaluable. Jan Spiller introduced me to the world of North Nodes and Pre-Birth Eclipses. These little known placements can point you in the direction of your very own Yellow Brick Road, the path that will lead you to your Life Purpose

The Moon’s Nodes tell us where our soul comes from and where it is headed. The theory is that over the course of many lifetimes, our experiences shape us by giving us ample opportunities to perfect certain skills. The South Node tells us what is done and dusted in terms of learning experiences and skills, while the North Node tells us what type of behavioral traits we can develop to become well rounded. The South Node represents what you are comfortable with, and your North Node is the exact opposite. It may pain you to go there, but once you do, bliss, realization and fulfilment are yours! Jan Spiller's book, Astrology for the Soul, explains it beautifully.

I recently discovered another book by Spiller on eclipses, specifically lunar and solar eclipses that happen in the six months leading up to our birth. Apparently the sign these eclipses fall under can clue us into the gift we have to share with the world - where we can help others by being ourselves and letting them follow our example. It reminds me of a quote from Gabby Bernstein's Miracles Now deck: When I shine bright, I give others permission to shine with me. It's funny because my North Node (where I need to push myself) and my prenatal eclipse are in the same sign of Leo, and to complicate matters, my Sun is in Aquarius. Leo and Aquarius are opposites. So in essence, my past and present are all about Aquarian energy, but I'm also pushed to embrace what you could call my shadow - the other side of the coin. Leo is all about playfulness, love and the Inner Child which sounds lovely, but it's also a sign that wants to be front and center: pampered, admired and respected. My Aquarian nature runs from the spotlight and wants everyone to be treated equally (or maybe it just pushes "attention seeking" into the shadow self).

There is nothing wrong with the sign of Leo; it has wonderful, fiery energy. But as the exact opposite of my Sun Sign (and as my uncomfortable but necessary North Node), it's also where I need to push out of my comfort zone. This week it dawned on me that my purpose doesn't have to be lofty - it's about embracing that North Node and also channeling the energy from my prenatal eclipse.

We can answer some of life's big existential questions with Natal Astrology: Why are we here? What is your purpose? My eclipse and North Node in Leo tell me that I'm here to love, to play and to shine even if it feels like I'm being pampered with that purpose. This week I created an affirmation for myself based on my natal chart, adding a line about my needs being taken care of because let's face it, my Moon (emotions, feelings, security) is in Capricorn, a sign that can be too focused on self-reliance and material goods

This realization was huge, and funny enough, my mom gave me a cool Affirmations Coloring Book for my birthday last week so it feels like I'm already connecting with my Inner Child by picking up those colored pencils. All this week, I have been repeating that simple phrase and it feels amazing - liberating even.

Now for a bit of (childlike) Leo energy...
