Pre Natal Eclipses: Your Cosmic Blind Spot

So this is going to be a short post but it’s the biggest aha moment of my life. I just realized that the biggest downfall of my solar eclipse in Leo - my cosmic blindspot - is that I am often the last person to see myself and realize how talented, creative and fun I am ❤️😻 Instead, I tend to be too critical of what I do and what I have to offer, which is also reflected in my chart. The prenatal eclipses are the ones that happened in the sky when we were still in the womb - the solar eclipse represents your mission in life .  It’s what you’re here to learn and teach by example. A mission that you can’t fail, but if you integrate it, you’ll have a much better time. ♌ Jan Spiller has a great book called Spiritual Astrology. It’s where I learned about eclipses.  The lunar eclipse tells us where we can grow through enjoyment - mine is in Pisces and I've had the best time exploring my intuition.  The blindspot and/or gift varies by Zodiac sign. Yesterday I Sent Reiki to the Eclipse (Fright of my Life 😅)

Yesterday we had an eclipse in Capricorn, which also happens to be my natal moon sign. So I sat down and thought I would draw a Reiki bridge to the Eclipse to download its energy to my life. Not the best idea in hindsight, but it was an experience.  So what is a Reiki Bridge??? Reiki is a self-healing and relaxation technique that developed in Japan 100 years ago. We can use it to meditate, to send healing to others, or to heal our lives.  When Reiki practitioners want to set an intention for a healing session, we draw Japanese kanji (letters) on our hands or in the air in front of us. There are just a few Reiki symbols included in the system, and one of these creates an energy bridge to another location, time or person. This is my favorite Reiki symbol because it gives Reiki so many uses. We can use it to send healing to a difficult experience in the past, or to do well in the future. We can send healing to someone that is going into surgery. It ...

Do Eclipses Really Influence Us, and How?

We have an eclipse coming up this weekend. The last year and a half I have been tracking the eclipses - looking at how they touch different points in my natal chart. In theory, this would tell us how a specific eclipse will influence our lives, and if it will influence us strongly. If an eclipse aspects one of our main planets, like the Sun, Moon or the Ascendant, expect a big one.    There have been changes in my life over the past year, especially internal perspectives, but I don't feel those shifts corresponded to last year's eclipse themes.  This is not to imply that eclipses don't matter. I have definitely seen and felt the impact of eclipses in my natal chart, specifically that of the  two eclipses that happened when I was still in the womb. The prenatal eclipses are meant to shape our mission in life, what we “teach by example.” I started looking into this six months ago when I stumbled across a book called Spiritual Astrology , by J...

How Can Natal Astrology Help Us?

Anyone who knows me would tell you I'm quite the shopaholic when it comes to books and crystals. That one-click option on Amazon is my downfall. Sometimes I will buy a book long before I have time to read it (or before I have any chance of understanding it).  That was the case with Jan Spiller's Spiritual Astrology: A Path to Divine Awakening, which turned out to be a fantastic read and I'm now kicking myself for not reading earlier. I bought the book in 2009, re-gifted it, and got it again last month. It opened my eyes to a new way of working with astrology. B ut first , let’s look at some of the more tra ditional ways that a Natal Astrology reading can help us. Studying our natal charts can help in seve ral ways: 1) Getting To Know Yourself What does it mean if a person's Sun is in the fiery sign of Aries, their Moon is in Libra. The Sun rules our core, our essence, what our soul is here to accomplish. The Moon is about how we feel, our inner w...

Answering Existential Questions with Astrology

I am starting to discover that our life purpose doesn't have to be serious or even al l that challenging. A part of me used to think it had to be hard.   So  in college, I’d reach for the tougher classes, doing five credits, when only four were needed. It wasn’t too much, but it was uneccessary pressure. Since then, I also discovered Astrology, a subject that made the cut at Tuft's Experimental College . Call me crazy, but Astrology should be offered at every college. If there is a time when finding our place is most critical, it's those formative years before we launch ourselves into the world as young adults. I discovered astrology nearer to my Saturn return (at 27-28) and the perspective it gave me has been invaluable.   Jan Spill er introduced me to the world of North Nodes and Pre-Birth Eclipses . These little known placements can point you in the direction of your very own Yel low Brick Road , the path that will lead you to your Life P urpo...
