Have You Met Archangel Michael?

When I moved to London, I'd go for a jog in the park (OK, a brisk walk) and I’d ask the angels to join me. The main four, to begin with; I spent a lot of time getting to know them before venturing onto to meet the rest. Archangel Michael was first on the list.

There are more angels than we could ever hope to identify and at least 12 archangels overseeing the rest. Each of the archangels has a sphere of influence. In school we learned to connect with Archangel Michael first, the angel of protection and courage. He sends the archangels that are best suited to help us. In my experience, even if we ask for one archangel, several show up!

Laying the Foundations

Connecting with the archangels can be intense because the aim is to create shifts in our lives. Archangel Michael teaches us to ground and shield our personal energy before meditating, so that we can receive clear and specific guidance from above.

My Chakra Healing & Magick book goes through this process in detail.

We can all tap into our intuition. Chapter 1 covers grounding, clearing and shielding our energy before accessing our intuition. Chapters 5 and 6 then look at energy healing and psychic development, including tools to connect with the angels for support and creative guidance. Taking advantage of life’s many opportunities often requires courage and action; energy healing gives us tools to work through our fears and insecurities. While some of the angels can be soft, Archangel Michael is more likely to push you out of your comfort zone.

This meditation will enable you connect with Archangel Michael directly. It is fast-paced: as the angel of Fire, he fills us with courage, confidence and willingness to take action.

Ready to go deeper?

Chakra Healing & Magick goes into energy healing, intuition and a variety of creative prompts. Archangel Jophiel is one of my favorites, working with creativity to change the way we see and interact with the world. Michael's blue light clears our Throat and Brow Chakras, while Jophiel's yellow light fills our power center with joy and creativity. Good to have on your team!

Co-Creating with the Archangels

In 2009, I discovered a book that made me take astrology seriously- Jan Spiller’s Astrology for the Soul. It uses reverse psychology to help us find happiness outside of our comfort zone. The path is found along the North Node of the Moon (your soul’s north star). It blew my mind; in my case, I had to be less of an Aquarius and let myself shine. Be more of a Leo.

I was so enchanted with Astrology for the Soul that I read another book of hers on New Moons. Here Jan teaches us to time our vision boards and affirmations so they correspond with the Moon’s zodiac sign. So for example, if you want to give your love life or social life a boost, you would wait for the Moon in Libra or Taurus, as Venus rules both. The Moon gives us an extra oomph.

After a few months I went back to the Archangels - they can help us 24/7. I am not discarding moon phases because they can be powerful, but we might as well call on the Archangels to get traction with our plans. There are a whole host of angels that we can call on, today I'll focus on the ones that support our efforts with courage, synchronicities and healing. Enjoy!

Finding Your Courage

It should come as no surprise that courage is Archangel Michael’s domain. He is the patron saint of armies, police officers and firefighters, bringing courage and also honesty and integrity to professions of service and protection. Michael can give us a friendly push when we are stuck in our comfort zone. Ask him to ground your energy and fill you with courage, direction and clarity. He can also grab our attention when an opportunity arises so that we don’t miss out. If we are doing too much he will give us a time out, as pushing too hard can be counterproductive. Michael can help us find that delicate balance.

Catching the Wave

As a kid I loved boogie boarding. It's like surfing, only you lay flat on your stomach even after you’ve caught the wave. Being in the right place at the right time often meant catching a big enough wave and riding it to shore. If you were too far out, no amount of paddling would get you there in time. The universe works in a similar way with different forces carrying us forward, or passing us by if we are no where near enough when the wave breaks. This is where I like to call on Archangel Raziel for help. Raziel is the keeper of secrets, especially where universal energy, metaphysics and astrology are concerned. He can teach us to work with these energy currents, bringing them closer so we can ride that wave.

Archangel Raziel is an expert magician who works closely with Archangel Orion. I have an odd story about Orion. Two years ago I went on a workshop where the facilitator tried to make her job more interesting by poking fun at us during group readings. I left after that session because it made me feel very uncomfortable - in school, we were taught to be mindful of how we did readings in public. Before she began her reading, she did tell me that I had a team of star guides who were popping in to say hello. They wanted to say that I was a Teacher and not to forget them. She suggested I connect with the star Sirius, but when I tuned later, I got the word ORION.

This was two years ago and I hadn't given it much thought. Last week I went for a power walk before my angel intuition class and the Sirius vs Orion question came to mind. Once again, my intuition pointed me towards Orion, and a few seconds later I turned a corner to see a construction truck with the name ORION spelled out on the side. What a coincidence! A few hours later I went to class. We were connecting with an angel that I had never heard of: Archangel Orion, the Manifesting Angel. He is associated with the Orion belt, and we can work with him to tap into the star power in the Universe.

According to the Sefer Yetzirah, an ancient Kabbalistic text, angels work through stars and planets to reach us. I believe the team of star guides above were angels of the stars *

Be Ready to Receive

The last point is about feeling worthy of the things we desire, and this is where a lot of us trip up. The good news is we can work with Archangels Haniel and Chamuel, the Angels of Healing and Unconditional Love to boost our self-esteem, our sense of worth and heal our Heart Chakras. Energetically we tend to receive anything "good" through our Heart Chakras, and we can also learn to co-create with the Heart by meditating with pink crystals. Archangel Haniel is also linked with the Moon and we can connect with her to get a better understanding of how our energy stands. You could say that grounding your energy and healing the Heart should be first on our list, without it we risk creating wonderful things and not allowing them into our lives.

Blending Intuition & Logic ...

Our intuition is the gateway to creativity and problem solving, giving us ideas that we can pursue. Those intuitive visions give us glimpses of potential futures and solutions - but it’s on us to follow through with practical assessments before taking a leap. There have been plenty of times where my intuition gave leads that didn't work out, and I wound up going down another route. At the end of the day, we are each responsible for our lives and reap the rewards of the work and gutsiness that we show. The idea is to blend intuition, logic and action as we take take the lead in our lives.

The Magical Power of Compassion

Today we're looking at The Magical Power of Compassion. That's right! One of many levers that you can pull to bring Peace and Prosperity into your daily life, and to your community as well. This post is the second in a series on Peace and Prosperity, leading up to the New Year (see link below).

1) Channeling your Generosity

A couple years ago I took classes at the Kabbalah Centre, London. This is where I discovered that generosity is a marvellous tool that we can use to bring good luck and "miracles" into our lives. The K-Centre calls it spiritual technology, and I found the process to be truly magical. The theory is based on the Kabbalistic Tree of Life and the ten spheres of light (or the ten luminous emanations), one of which corresponds to our physical world, the rest to the spiritual realms.

The theory is that by restricting and sharing 10 percent of our resources, be it time, energy, knowledge or money – we can tap into the unlimited source of abundance on the other side of the veil, bringing it into our physical reality. You can do this by volunteering, mentoring or coaching others, by donating to a spiritual, social or ecological charity, etc. It's also possible to share less formally, by taking time out of your day to help a family member or a colleague. It's about sharing with no strings attached, and trusting that the Universe will reward you at the right time and place. The 10% ratio is the secret, whether its time, money, or energy shared.

It's been a while since I took the class, but two ideas are etched in my mind: Sharing (generosity) and Restricting (see here). You can transform your life by using these tools. Please note, this is how I apply the Kabbalah Centre's spiritual technology.

2) The Magical Power of Compassion

Kindness also brings light to the world in other ways, and this is where The Magical Power of Kindness and Compassion come into play. I’m sure you’ve noticed how some people, especially strangers, will be visibly surprised when you help them. It’s so unexpected that their faces light up. Unwarranted acts of kindness restore our faith in humanity, at a time when the world sorely needs to believe in itself. Whenever we surprise someone with kindness, we erode the energy of cynicism that has found its way into the collective unconscious. This feeling is heavier in some places than others.

Earlier this year I moved to Mexico, a beautiful country that has, unfortunately, been plagued by crime and corruption. While I love the culture (after all this is where I was born) it has been been sad to witness the belief that everyone is a crook and that no one can be trusted. A myth that I like to dispel by telling a story. My sister came to visit this summer and on her way back to the airport, she forgot her iPhone in the taxi. Now, people here tend to be especially wary of cab drivers. Don’t take gypsy cabs, make sure it's tracked, etc.

Well wouldn’t you know it, the cab driver saw the iPhone, got out of the car and ran after her into the terminal, making sure she left with her phone. Whenever people start to moan about the situation here, I tell that story and the mood lightens.

While it may be basic human decency not to steal a phone, that’s what we need to hear right now. These experiences change the way we approach the world. We can all be agents for positive change if we make a conscious decision to let kindness and compassion guide our actions. If you're wondering, compassion comes into play when we remember that everyone is equally deserving of our attention. Put yourself in their shoes ask yourself you can do to be of service.

Peace and Prosperity on Earth

It's been two weeks since my last post and that long since my last radio show. Thank God for impromptu vacations, they make life more interesting, don't they? Now I'm back and ready to get going again. I'm also getting ready for my New Year's Resolution in 2015, which is to live life as a joyful, abundant and compassionate human being. I'm halfway there but it could be more conscious. The resolution was brought about by a comment on Facebook. Thank you Denise for this question:

What is the purpose of us being here? I mean really - if we are infinite beings why would we choose to come here to experience disease and violence and sadness, even it it comes with joy and love too?

Now that's a biggie, one that I don't know the answer to. When I tuned in, I got this overwhelming feeling that "it" was never meant to be that way. The sadness, the violence and the suffering is not part of any master plan that we are meant to experience, and maybe, just maybe, our souls choose to come to Earth because they know that things can be different. We have a choice, as individuals and as a society. I also got the sense that most of the suffering we see in the world has been  created by humans, and we inflict it on ourselves, on each other and on the planet. Again, it was never meant to be this way. We can create a different reality for ourselves.

The question them becomes, how? I asked upstairs, as my healing tutors used to say, and got three words in response: history, economy and compassion. I'm guessing that the first word references our socio-political history. What have we done in the past to create the inequality in the world? Poverty is largely the result of our economic and educational systems. So is the damage we are  currently doing to the planet. This also brings me to the concept of economy, which I interpret as Prosperity: enjoying an abundance of health, wealth and happiness. It's about covering our basic emotional, mental and physical needs so that we can individually pursue activities that make our heart sing. Not necessarily about the Louis Vuitton bag, or the fancy car. What makes a country prosperous, what makes you feel prosperous? There are lots of levers we can pull on the road to prosperity, whether it's work ethic, manifesting or joy.

The last reference is probably the most important one, and that's compassion. I don't foresee violence, suffering or unhealthy competition disappearing until we make changes that will benefit all of the players involved. Being compassionate and merciful is about helping someone when you have no "personal" reason to do so. Maybe they messed up and found themselves in a tough spot, maybe they're from a different race or nationality, or maybe you feel that helping them would come at your own expense. This last "maybe" can be the trickiest, but if we shift our mentality from one of scarcity to one of abundance, we'll realise that its possible for both sides to prosper. People often ask if I believe in God, and I do, but I would much rather believe in humanity. When we believe in our own power, we'll see the solution to these problems. Stay tuned for more on peace and prosperity, as we count down to 2015!
