Some of the archangels resonate with different personality types; I've always had my mind on overdrive. It is one of the reasons why I got into meditation. The angel that can help us clear our mind and bring in a ray of sunlight is none other than Archangel Jophiel! His yellow light filters through the mental Aura layer, where writer's block and other creativity blocks can be released or transmuted.
You can ask that he open your mind to other ways of thinking, which plays a big part in getting out of a rut. A closed mind will quickly paint you into a corner.
A Golden Meditation:
You can call on Archangel Jophiel by taking a few breaths, grounding yourself, and visualizing your Aura filled with gold light. Light a candle and ask Archangels Michael & Jophiel to approach you.
Visualize a swirl of light clearing away anything that blocks your inner vision. If you have a pen or a set of crayons nearby, start to draw or write and see what comes up for you! Let inspiration flow!
If you're familiar with the Kabbalistic Tree of Life, each of the ten spheres on the tree relates to a quality that we can connect with to heal ourselves and the world. I have been meaning to write a post about our Personal Tree for months, but it ends up being really long (still simplifying it).
The idea is that the archangels, including Archangels Michael, Raphael and Gabriel, can help us connect with spheres that resonate with their energy. In the past, I've always felt like Archangel Jophiel was missing from the angelic correspondences in books and other sources.
Last year I discovered a book called The Angel Bible by Hazel Raven. It's the first time I've seen a diagram of the Tree that includes Jophiel. She associates Archangels Michael and Jophiel with the dimension of HOD. This sphere represents the Mind (Jophiel) and communication, but also how we assert ourselves in the physical world (Michael) and the karma it creates.
My intuition tells me that Archangels Michael and Jophiel work together so that we can see all of our options, taking the route that leads us to victory - and without hurting others in the process.
By the way, The Angel Bible's description of HOD differs from what I've seen elsewhere, especially which spheres relate to rational thought vs emotional drives. I think this can be explained by the gender ascribed to each of the Tree's Pillars. But Archangel Jophiel helps with creativity and rational thought, bringing us into balance.

There are Oracle Decks that I use for readings, and others that I turn to for inspiration and healing. Stewart Pearce’s beautiful Angels of Atlantis deck falls into the second category. The messages are inspired by
Archangels like Michael, Gabriel, Raphael and Uriel - who I know from psychic school. Each card has a bright orb for us to meditate on, and broad themes involve feelings like joy, healing, peace, and
abundance. I like to use these cards as meditative prompts and this
Tuesday, they were also the source of inspiration for my radio show. I wasn’t sure what to talk about and I pulled a card for
inspiration: Joy.
The result was a list of ten simple things that we can all do to bring more joy into our lives. Joy is said to be the purest and highest emotion, for some, even higher than the energy of love.
Here are eleven simple ways to bring joy into your life:
Spend Time with People you Love: What else is there? The rest of the tips help us refocus the mind on happiness 🌻
Smile More Often.When you smile,
the world smiles back. The benefit is two-fold: being surrounded by
friendly faces has been proven to affect our brain in a good way. And smiling
often also fools our brain into thinking we are happy, releasing feel good chemicals that help us feel happy.
Note: I’m not sure of the science behind this but based on personal experience,
smiling makes me happy.
Get Some Exercise. Go for a jog, dance a little salsa or run up the stairs if that’s
all you have time for. Working out is a great way to release stress. It also
helps us feel better, releasing endorphins that make us happy. And to quote
Reese Witherspoon in Legally Blonde, “Happy people don’t kill their husbands”
Meditate.I started meditating on joy, peace and happiness after reading a
book called The Essential Dalai Lama. Close your eyes for a minute, listen to your breath and picture gold or yellow light around you. I also like to
call on Archangel Jophiel for help. Jophiel can help us change our outlook so
that it is more optimistic. He’s one of my favorite angels and I feel his energy
as yellow.
Count Your Blessings.Sometimes things go wrong and that’s all there is to it. But even
when it feels like we are starring in a tragic-comedy, we can still cheer
ourselves up by turning our attention to the things we have to be grateful for.
Volunteering can make these blessings very obvious too. If you’re reading this
online, someone in the world is getting by with less than what you or I have.
Let Things Slide. We all have our buttons and they get pushed. What bothers me
may not bother you, and vice versa. The next time someone says or does
something that rubs you the wrong way, consider giving them the benefit of the
doubt. Look inward for any triggers that may need to be healed. That said, I
wouldn’t discount the importance of self-respect, so drawing a line is
important.
Switch Off Your Phone and sit in
nature for a while. Or hangout with friends. Act like it’s the 80’s and your
troubles and to-do-lists are not in your pocket.
Be Yourself.Living up to expectations doesn’t feel good, whether those
expectations are real or self-imposed. Don’t apologize for who you
are, what you do, or who you love. Be yourself and let the right people find you. You can heal your sense-of-self and shine bright by focusing on the Chakras, especially the Solar Plexus, and by grounding yourself in love (Read my book. Chakra Healing & Magick).
Put
the Past Behind You.Life is full of ups and downs as well as plenty of life stages that
eventually come to an end. It can be tempting to look back to the past with
nostalgia, especially if we have been through a difficult ending. But we
can only find joy if we appreciate the present and embrace the future. Heal yourself to let go; it’s not about forgetting the past.
Be
Willing to Forgive. It will give you peace of mind.
It is said that holding a grudge is like letting someone live rent-free in your
head. When we forgive we give ourselves a break, whether or not we also give
second or third chances.
Enjoy the Moment.One of my
favorite books is A New Earth, by Eckhart Tolle. It tells us that when we are faced with a tough situation that can't be changed, we can make the
conscious choice to tolerate it until it passes. The next best thing is to
enjoy yourself, after all, even rough patches have good times. And when things
are going great appreciate your good luck and en-joy yourself!

Manifesting Tip!The happier we feel, the easier it is for us to create situations that we want to experience. Listening to songs that put us in a good mood is a great shortcut (though it always helps to heal yourself, too). Read This to Manifest with MUSIC!
Today we are going to talk some more about the Archangels! Just to recap, the Archangels are higher up on the angelic hierarchy. They each intervene in different spheres of life, whether it's communication, motherhood, ecology, healing or helping us find our life purpose.
There are at least 7 to 12 archangels depending on who we ask, but likely many more than that. I tend to connect with six or seven of them regularly in meditations. Last week we discussed the main four: Archangels Michael, Raphael, Gabriel and Uriel - known as the Protector, the Healer, the Messenger and Spiritual Guide (Part 1).
Today we are moving on to the next group - the archangels of magic, mystery and beauty in life!
Archangel Haniel - The Feminine Healer. Haniel has lovely, soft energy. She’s also a healer, like Archangel Raphael and we can call on both of them to balance our masculine and feminine sides. Haniel’s energy is very gentle, like moonlight. We can ask her for help understanding our emotions, developing our intuition and working with lunar cycles in. I tend to feel her energy as silver with a little bit of pink. She’s a Star.
Archangel Jophiel - The Angel of Beauty. Jophiel can help us bring more beauty into our life, especially into our thoughts, speech and feelings. He can teach us to recognize beauty inside and out. I like to call Jophiel he teaches us to appreciate imperfect beauty, as well as beauty that is not so obvious in today’s “media driven” world. I first sensed Jophiel’s energy during one of my Reiki Attunements. One of the Tibetan Master symbols has a strong artistic feel to it and I sensed Jophiel’s presence at that point. He is an Artist.
Archangel Raziel - The Keeper of Secrets. He’s the angel for mystics, manifestations, and secrets revealed. Raziel is said to be the “guardian” of the Tree of Life. Raziel can teach us about the laws of cause and effect, and manifestation. But he lets the secrets out of the bag only when we’re ready for them. And when our heart and our intentions are pure so that we only use his knowlegde for the highest good.
The idea is to get to know the Archangel individually so that we can reach out to them when we need their help. I find that they work as a team, but it can be very supportive and comforting to sense their individual energies. You will also get an idea of where you’re stuck, by who shows up when you ask for help. If you would like to connect with them personally, the meditation below introduces Archangel Haniel 💖
Take turns reaching out to your guardian angel and to the archangels. Once you become familiar with their energy, you’ll notice them when you’re out and about. They love popping around to say hello!
I'm inspired by a new book this week: The Essential Dalai Lama.
My aunt gave it to me nearly two years ago and I only started reading it now. The funny thing is my Reiki class this weekend prompted me to pick it up again. Usui, the founder of Reiki, was heavily influenced by his Buddhist background. I was curious to find out more. Training my mind should come in handy, I'm your classic air sign and the hamster wheel in my head is always spinning! I could really use a mental holiday!
One of the basic themes in Buddhism is the source of suffering and mental anguish in particular. He talks about how we can have all of the physical and material comforts we need, and still be sad, anxious or stressed. The Dalai Lama mentioned several fears which can lead to anxiety and I related to one of them in particular: Fear of the Unknown. For example, will I like the new job, the new city, or as a teenager, if I would like my new school. Will I enjoy it, etc?
Worrying about the future quickly leads to stress and anxiety. If these feelings are intense enough, they might keep us from trying something new (or from enjoying it). Though we might feel safe in our comfort zone, it won't take us to new or exciting places. A more effective strategy would be to expect the best in any situation and trust that you'll be able to handle whatever life brings to your doorstep. And who knows, you might even enjoy it! Imagine that =)
We can also ask your angels for help with this. Try asking them to put feelings of joy and enthusiasm in your heart and solar plexus. Archangel Jophiel can also help us connect to that place of wonder where we see the potential for a beautiful life, instead of one plagued by fear and worry. I also give myself Reiki in my solar plexus, though it would also be possible to ask Archangel Raphael to heal away any fears. Try it!
