My Happy Path's Online Yoga Studio

I'm pleased to feature this guest post by Shanie Matthews from My Happy Path. Her plans for an online yoga studio are pretty amazing. If you like her pitch, please support the Indiegogo campaign to get it off the ground. I received a month-long subscription in exchange for this post.

Olympic Valley, CA - For the past eight years, Shanie Matthews has been helping thousands of people improve their mental and physical health through her My Happy Path website (www.myhappypath.com). The site, which has 2,700 Facebook followers, offers online mediation, inspirational stories and health advice. Matthews wants to take a giant leap forward and transition her website into a full-service online yoga studio. This online yoga studio is really just the beginning of the dream, though. Her bigger vision is to have the online yoga studio that is acting as the face for her developing nonprofit, My Happy Place, which is creating empowerment homes for trafficking victims.

"Other online yoga classes are available on the Internet," she said. "What I am doing is unique. I'm offering two yoga classes, a guided meditation and a corresponding affirmation that are all interlinked, focusing on a specific empowerment theme. No one else currently online is combining the three. The goal is for people to become healthier and happier."

Matthews has mapped out a schedule of online yoga classes and subjects that will be covered. "Each week will spotlight different ways we can embrace our highest self," she said.

The schedule includes:
  • reducing fear
  • expanding calmness
  • releasing stress
  • enriching the relationship with inner self
  • letting go of anger
  • connecting with forgiveness
  • nurturing the heart

Matthews has found yoga to be an effective healing tool in her own personal life. "In the last two years yoga helped me recover from a divorce and a serious leg injury," she said.
"This new website will help people become healthier and happier in their daily lives. And with the increase in happiness, I'm hoping it will overflow into creating places of empowerment for those forced into trafficking, so that they may find a nurturing way to their own happiness."

A weekly package of these tools will go for $11 and that includes access to past videos. There will be an introductory offer of free access for two weeks and a yearly membership is $89.95.

MyHappyPath.com will need some technical upgrades in order to offer these new services. Matthews estimates that she'll need $5,000 to develop platforms for membership services and streaming videos. Funding is also necessary for business expansion and licensing fees. In order to generate this start-up capital, she has launched an Indiegogo campaign, which can be viewed at www.indiegogo.com/projects/my-happy-path-online-yoga-studio

Donations of any amount are welcome. For a $25 contribution, backers will receive a three-month subscription to the new site. A $100 pledge is rewarded with a one-year subscription, a healing stone, a downloadable meditation session and a set of limited edition My Happy Path cards.

A Past Life Discovery - by April

I'm really pleased to introduce a guest post by one of my angel reading classmates. April gave me the most amazzzing rune reading late last year. She is a talented channeller too.

Buy the Book on Amazon!
I was always very interested in past lives since I was a teenager, I read books, visit people who supposed to have the abilities to see and did everything I could as I was fascinated about the subject. Something that I always knew in my heart, was that I wanted to come and settle in the UK, a feeling stronger than myself that I couldn’t avoid; since I’m from Mexico, it took  me  a lot of efforts and a chain of little (or big?) miracles for it, but that is another story. With my feelings for the UK I was pretty sure that they were a remembrance of a past life and I could feel it in my core; but I couldn’t explain my fascination and curiosity about the Northern countries and of course, that I had my Viking runes since I was 19, even when I only began to understand them recently in the last couple of years (thanks to a  rare workshop I found, there is ever hardly anything related to old Viking oracles and is difficult to find a teacher or a class), so I began to suspect  that I was remembering 2 separate lives until one day a colleague from work that does Reiki had a saying.

This girl and I connected since the beginning and were able to see things in each other we couldn’t realise on our own. One day The British Museum announced and upcoming exhibition about the life of the Vikings and I felt strongly compelled to go so I reserved my ticket straight away; when I informed her about it she started to see and feel things related to it and she said to me: “You will find this very odd, but I can see you raiding to this country, you were a Viking raiding in the UK” I found that very funny and interesting but it wasn't until before the exhibition when it hit me. On my way there, I had this loud and clear word in my thoughts, the name, "Harald"  was pounding in my head over and over and as soon as I entered the exhibition, everything seemed so familiar, their religion, their activities, also Viking women were naturally psychic and that was expected and highly respected. The cherry on top was the existence of this Viking king, called Harald who led raids to the UK. Suddenly was clear to me; I came here within his army like my friend saw in her vision. Women were also warriors, so they would raid along men. Everything was so crystal clear that I couldn’t believe it! All those years trying to find about past lives, only to find little pieces to the puzzle and after more than 6 years of being in the UK, I finally was able to decipher the connection between everything. When you become aware of a past life   is often because it can help you with the present one and more likely you’d bring some characteristics along with you, which for me, apart from the spiritual interests I also brought the strength of the female warriors.

So if you are like me, always curious about past lives and spirituality, all I can tell you is, things reveal themselves on the time they suppose to and you can be sure that when the time comes, the feeling is so wonderful and overwhelming, that won’t leave space for doubts in your mind. You just have to be patient!

A quick note from Regina: The British Museum is a wonderful place to go to trigger past life memories. I had a similar experience in the Egyptian section. Also happened to flip through one of the books in the gift shop and found an awesome explanation for one of my nicknames. =)

A Visit with the Drepung Gomang Monks - by Leslie

I'm thrilled to introduce a guest post on Mandalas by Leslie from Inner Calm Reiki. Leslie is a gifted healer. You can visit her Facebook Page or find her on Twitter (here!). Reiki Hugs, Regina

A Visit With the Drepung Gomang Monks

I attend a small Spiritualist Church, The Journey Within, located in New Jersey. Its humble beginning is a story in itself. Recently, we invited the Deprung Gomang Monks to honor us with a visit and were elated when they agreed to come. The Monks go on tours throughout the states (and perhaps the world), to bring awareness of their plight, share their traditions and to spread a message of peace and unity. Although all of our beliefs may not be the same, during their visit it didn’t matter. You just wanted to be around them. You needed to feel their energy. To be in their presence, you immediately felt the calmness and inner peace that is their very core.

They had an opening and closing ceremony filled with music, chanting and blessings. They chanted for us and we sung for them. It was moving to say the least, and they appreciated us just as much as we appreciated them. In between the ceremonies was when they worked on the most incredible peace mandala. If you’re not familiar, a mandala is a colorful piece of artwork made up of symbols. It may include a variety of religious symbols, elements (earth, wind, and fire), people, etc. Each symbol has a meaning and a purpose.

To create the mandala, a chalk drawing using rulers and string, so that the lines are precise, are first drawn out on a wooden platform. Fine sand is dyed with brilliant colors and inserted into long metal cone/tube like instruments, which the monks then use to gently tap out sand, a few grains at a time. Sections are carefully layered until they become three dimensional. They are precise and meticulous in their work. What it represents to them means too much to allow for error, and you immediately sense its importance.

I sat in our little chapel and watched these talented Monks sit on the ground, legs crossed pretzel style and work for hours on this mandala. I crossed my legs and meditated, totally absorbing the energy from the room. The chanting music playing in the background filling me, and I allowed myself to let go and chant along within my mind. I felt safe and I felt accepted.

In most cases the finished mandala is destroyed by sweeping up the sand and setting it free in a nearby body of water symbolizing that nothing has permanence. The waters are said to carry healing energy throughout the world. Some, like my church, opt to preserve it so it can remain on display. Not an easy feat, but it can be done.

Several weeks after their visit, I was still basking in the afterglow of their energy. Their message of peace, unity and healing is one we should all share. We must do better, be better, be selfless and be more giving. Recognize that there is no I alone and that we are truly one. We need to heal and to be healed so we may all persevere.

Love & Light be with you always - Leslie

Letters to Momo - by Alejandro Souza

I am pleased to introduce a guest post by Alejandro Souza, an inspired writer and social entrepreneur. In 2010 Alejandro's family was shaken up by a life event which was compounded by distance. He turned to the power of penmanship to bring the situation hope, resilience & light.

I’d like to share with you a remarkable journey of personal transcendence and overcoming! Let’s start at the beginning…

In September of 2010, I received an email informing me that my cousin Momo, as I called him, had been imprisoned. His situation was deeply challenging to say the least: 23-years old and about to graduate from university abroad, his world was suddenly confined to one of the largest high-security prisons in Liverpool. His parents and sisters were all home in Mexico, an Atlantic Ocean away.

A truly compassionate, loving, and caring person only a year my junior, Momo has always been my closest friend in the family. Although we lived in different countries most of our lives, no physical distance ever kept us from communicating. Crushed by his imprisonment and the realization that he had been facing this situation alone for months, I made an unconditional commitment to live the experience as close to him as I possibly could.

My mind was made: I resolved to write him one letter each day for as long as he was in jail.

Many letters and a few months later, Momo was released from prison and flew back to Mexico City. Once home, he finally told me face-to-face how important the letters had been. He told me the letters became his lifeline, that they gave him love and strength to overcome his physical and psychological prisons, to find meaning in his experience, and to ultimately achieve personal growth and liberation.

That is why today, we’ve just launched an amazing Kickstarter campaign to crowd-source the funds needed to publish the book Letters to Momo – the collection of all daily letters I wrote to my cousin – exactly as he received them.

My daily letters were my way of walking with Momo and infusing him with strength, resilience, and above all, love. The letters were written to help him not only survive the incarceration, but to transcend it by consciously seeking the value of the experience as a platform for liberation and growth. Never brooding or negative, each letter has a positive and inspiring tone as an empowering reminder that he was not a victim of circumstance and that if he chose to, he could author the change he desired in his life. In short, the letters were intended to rouse the personal power to overcome we each are innately born with.

Today, we want to publish the book because we believe in the power of its message! We are certain the letters can inspire and empower others to confront and overcome barriers to their own liberation, regardless of situation or background. As Momo states, “it would be a blessing to share them with the world because there is no ownership to such sincere insights.”

Never written with the intention of being published, or for anyone other than Momo, the letters were written straight from the heart in genuine stream of consciousness. Today they remain intact and in their original state, as pure as originally sent to Momo. And that’s exactly how we want to publish them.

Our vision is to share, not to sell. That’s why we want to get this story out there because we firmly believe that no one should walk alone!

Today, let these letters walk with you.

Born and raised in Mexico City, Alejandro is a 26-year-old writer, poet, traveller and social entrepreneur. A lover of the experience of life itself, he treats the world as an emblem of possibility. Each of his projects is an intensive expression of his entire person. Even though all paths of attainment are different, his goal remains the same: to help enhance quality of life by reminding us of our innate ability to own the change we desire - and to smile at the realisation communally and loudly, every step of the way. A Mirror in a Mirror - by Michael Kaufmann

I am very pleased to introduce a guest post by my Reiki teacher, Michael Kaufmann. Michael has a lighthearted approach to teaching which make his workshops thoroughly enjoyable; whether it is a Reiki Attunement or a weekend seminar on Japanese healing techniques and meditation.

When I was a child I accidentally discovered a way to contemplate infinity using only two mirrors, one handheld and one on the wall.

I was wondering what would happen if I looked at a mirror reflected in another mirror.  I played around and then suddenly there was a moment when an endless tunnel of reflected mirrors opened up, a window into infinity.

In my excitement, I took my father's tripod and mounted the handheld mirror onto it, trying to make it as still as possible to make the tunnel as deep as possible.

As the chain of reflections fused into a dark vanishing point in the "distance", I felt that this dark point was a piece of the same infinity that I saw when I looked at sky at night.

I repeated this experiment often.  It became one of the visual meditations that I loved then and still love to this day, like staring into an open fire, star gazing, watching the sun set, waves rolling onto the shore, snow flakes floating to the ground.

Later, when I started to meditate, I found the same sense of infinity behind closed eyelids in an inner space that deepened and expanded with time.

Go and explore this inner space in yourself, have glimpses of your own infinity!  Unlike the virtual space between facing mirrors, your inner space is full of life, light and spirit.

Meditation is a life skill that's easy to learn. Learn more on Reiki-Meditation by following this link.

Spiritual Response and Restructuring - with Amanda Roberts

I'm really pleased to introduce a guest post by Amanda Roberts, one of my tutors at the The College of Psychic StudiesAmanda is a healer, speaker and medium specialising in Spiritual Response Therapy and Spiritual Restructuring. I've invited Amanda to tell us about her exciting plans for this weekend's Mind Body Soul exhibit in London.

"Four Days to go and I shall be ready to have my first exhibition. Yes you can find me at the Mind, Body, Soul Exhibition this coming Friday 28th September at Olympia in London. All very exciting but also rather scary as I am taking a big step. I am not only exhibiting but also rebranding myself as myself at the same time. Why not do everything at once? It’s a daring move, but also brilliant timing as it is the perfect platform to launch the ‘new’ me.

After years as Bodykarm I am finally going to be Amanda Roberts. Amanda Roberts – Healer, Speaker, Medium.  No more hiding behind a company name. I am going to finally step out into the limelight as myself. It’s a challenging mental shift in a way that I had not considered in full when I ventured in it! It is also very exciting.  It is full of possibilities and new unexplored avenues and doorways.

Lots of planning, lots of work and lots of expense, and of course, administration – I admit I have fantastic assistance on the last front though I do have to do everything else myself.

I’ve had my business colours done, logo re-designed, new artwork for leaflets, business cards etc, but there is printing still to be done and the website is a glorious work in progress – and fingers crossed everything will come into fruition by Thursday 27th September in time for the Exhibition."

Visit Amanda at Stand T9 in the new Treatment Experience Zone this weekend. She has kindly shared the following with us in anticipation of this weekend's event. Visit her stand at the MBS to inquire about an introductory session:

What is Spiritual Restructuring (SpR)?

Spiritual Restructuring (SpR) is a powerful and cutting edge energy healing system which accesses Universal Healing Energy to release physical, mental, emotional and spiritual discordant pain and energy. It uses both kinesiology and a pendulum to identify and release energies within the skeletal and muscular systems to bring about balance and healing. It is excellent at releasing pain as well as psychic wounds and programmes that are held within the cells in our body.

Benefits

  • Realign and release energies from the skeletal muscular system
  • Release physical, mental, emotional and spiritual pain
  • Promote balance and healing"

Amanda will be offering a FREE workshop on Spiritual Restructuring this  Friday the 29th at 2.45 pm in Room 2 at the Mind Body Soul exhibit. Come along, find out more and experience it for yourself.

What is Spiritual Response Therapy (SRT)?

Spiritual Response Therapy (SRT) clears 13 basic programs, blocks, and limiting beliefs that keep us from moving forward, enjoying life and expressing ourselves fully in our life. SRT clears past lives and negative energy so that we can fulfil our highest potential. Within this the practitioner connects with your Higher Self through using charts and a pendulum to douse to clear your soul records so that healing and change can occur.

 Benefits
  • Create Abundance – Wealth, health, happiness
  • Create and enhance love and relationship
  • Clear phobias and fears

Thank You Amanda for this lovely guest post!

xoxo  Regina

ps .... If you're lucky enough to be in London this weekend be sure to stop by Amanda Robert's stand where you can find out more about SRT and SpR. If you'd like to read about my experience with one of her healings click on this link for my Drowned in a Past Life post (it is not as scary as it sounds!).

Using Reiki in Energy Healing Work - a Guest Post by Nathan

I'd like to introduce this guestpost by Nathan from the psychic blog, A State of Mind. There are many types of energy healing, some involve calling on universal energy and others, working with our own energy which as Nathan points out, can be exhausting and counter productive. The type of energy healing that I practice is similar to Reiki; it involves channeling universal energy ~ Regina

"Every time I have an opportunity to share some information about Reiki, I use it. Today, Geena gave me such opportunity, allowing me to write a guest post for this blog. And since Geena focuses upon energy healing, I think it’s a great idea to explain how Reiki can help you and other energy healers in your work.

For the purpose of this article, I assume that energy healing is the type of psychic work, in which you use your own life energy in order to heal someone. In Poland, this is commonly known as bioenergy therapy and it’s an official profession, for which you need to have proper authorization and certificates, and you have to be a member of a therapist guild.

Now, it’s essential to explain the theory behind energy healing, and theory behind Reiki. Let’s start with energy healing - in this form of psychic work, you use your own energy (Chi, Prana, Ki) to manipulate and heal blockages or damages in other’s person energy body - well, that’s standard theory, in practice it looks a bit more complex. Because you have control over your own energy, you can shape it into tools, and use it in whatever way you like. But whenever you use this energy of yours, you lose it - your life force reservoir  is being depleted, it’s a fact known to every person who works with his or hers own energy. Therefore, after long session of energy healing, you need to recharge your batteries through various techniques. Reiki is one of such techniques.

How Does Reiki Work

Reiki works in a different way than classic energy healing does. You do not have control over Reiki energy, you’re a channel, through which the energy flows into the other’s person body in order to heal it. It is Reiki that heals, not the practitioner and his energies. And, while our own energy can be contaminated with our own fears, worries and concerns, thus making it risky to use it for energy healing (unless you learn ways to purify and cleanse the energy you’re using), Reiki is a pure, spiritual light - not the most powerful energy in the Universe, but still a very gentle, spiritual form of vibrations. It comes from the Source (God, the Universe, the Absolute), and it flows through the practitioner into the person who needs healing. There, it heals blockages and brings harmony back. Quite simple, isn’t it?

As such, Reiki can help you in your classic energy healing work - even if you won’t be using Reiki for healing as a stand-alone technique. I know a lot of healers who use their own energy to heal, but they use Reiki on themselves after work hours - why so? Because it’s very, very useful.

Recharge

The very first thing that Reiki can help you with is the process of recharging your batteries. As you work with your own energy - to heal, or to do psychic readings, or to create a psiball or even play with telekinesis (because you can), you deplete your own energy. This life force is like a fuel, the more you do, the more energy is being used. When your energy level is low, you feel tired, depressed, and if you won’t recharge yourself, it’s just a matter of time before you’re struck with an illness, not to mention some more serious consequences for your physical and emotional health. So, you need to recharge yourself.

Reiki can help you with this - after becoming a Reiki practitioner, you can simple spend 30 minutes each day doing self-treatment session, and the spiritual energy will flow into you. Within you, Reiki is transformed into normal life energy, Chi, which fuels your every action, thought and emotion. Doing Reiki self-healing sessions after any form of energy work or psychic work is a way to recharge your batteries, and feel alive once more.  And of course, its a great way to keep yourself spiritually healthy.

Cleanse the environment and yourself

But more than that, Reiki can be used to create a sterile environment for your healing work. It’s a standard procedure to cleanse the room in which you do psychic work, and to cleanse yourself. Some people use white sage to do this, others prefer candles and magical rituals, some visualize a bright, spiritual light that cleanse and protects the room. In similar way, practitioners of the second degree of Reiki can use symbols to cleanse and protect the room. But they can use Reiki symbols to cleanse themselves, as well, and make sure that their aura is clean, so they won’t transfer their worries and concerns to their patients.

Keeping your aura and your environment clean on energetic and spiritual level is essential for safe and successful energy healing work.

Heal Yourself, First

Finally, Reiki is a path of spiritual development, as well. It can help you face your own dark side, your fears and worries and bad beliefs. And it can help you heal these so called “blockages”, through self-treatment sessions and guidance on the path of spiritual growth. This leads to two things. First, your life gets better and better. But also, this leads to the fact that with time, you become more and more spiritual person, and the more spiritual you are, the less problems you carry with your own energies. The more spiritual you are, the less probable it is to transfer your fears and negative beliefs to other person. In Reiki practice there is a rule - first, heal yourself! And it’s essential for successful healing practice.

That’s it - as you can see, Reiki is a very useful tool for every energy healer, even if you do not plan to use Reiki for healing others. But since it can help you in your daily healing practice, and it can support your spiritual growth, then I think it’s worth becoming a practitioner of the first two degrees. It won’t hurt you, but it will improve your life and your healing practice, for sure!"

2023 Update: I haven’t been in touch with Nathaniel in years and his website appears to have come down; however, his books are still for sale on Amazon Here. Have a look & read the one you’re drawn to.
