We are bigger than our egos

Lately, I’ve been thinking about why the world is so dysfunctional. Two things come to mind - faulty egos, where one person feels like they have to one-up another, and second, the possibility of losing our security, financial or otherwise. Both of these are important but the first can be addressed with energy healing, so I’m going to focus my attention on that one - integrating and redirecting the ego’s energy.

I've been giving this a lot of thought recently, and I believe that most of the damage caused by humans can be explained by two big factors:

  • Faulty Egos & Emotional Pain, where one person has to outperform another to feel good about themselves. They might have childhood trauma that makes them feel inferior, hurt, angry or vengeful. Those core wounds lead to actions that harm others in ways that are unnecessary - whether it's a snide comment or something more direct. The faulty ego might get pleasure from feeling superior, but that satisfaction is filtered through a wound. Pain is on background refresh; any efforts to do well suffer because of it. Everyone loses.
  • Fear of Loss / Scarcity. It's assuming that there aren't enough opportunities for everyone to win at life. This might be literal - not enough money, or psychological (not enough praise, which brings us back to the first point; a damaged ego). For example, if one restauranteur opens a sushi restaurant and gets lots of good reviews, another chef might feel like they will lose customers. To be honest, this is based on real-life economic conditions and it’s a healthy human response. Competition is normal - a necessary survival mechanism, but my intuition tells me that aggressive competition and defensiveness happen because most of us are not aligned with our uniqueness or our vision. This is what I learned in business school too - differentiate your biz, your personality and your products. From a spiritual point of view, there is a part of your soul that taps into your life purpose and what no one else can match.

Healing your ego might involve integrating an overblown ego that pushes people away, but it could also be a dysfunctional ego that makes a person act small or insecure.

We want to assert ourselves, without going overboard and wreaking havoc on other people’s lives. One of the insights from my spiritual psychology classes is needing to set that boundary yourself; long term peace and stability is found when everyone thrives. Pluto in Libra generation here ♎️

The Ego is not Bad

>> We all have egos, and to quote a psychologist friend, you need your ego to prop you up and give you strength. Don’t get rid of your ego. Unfortunately, the unhealthy parts of the ego sabotage us in unique and often sophisticated ways.

Read my books to heal yourself and join me on YouTube for meditations. I also offer healing sessions. A lot of self-healing is about developing confidence in yourself and releasing beliefs that paint you into a corner, beliefs about yourself and the world.

Heal yourself 💜💜💜💜

When I’ve done meditations to strengthen my sense of security, my intuition points me to this matrushka metaphor. Your full / higher self is a lot bigger than your ego / human self. And there is a part of us that has infinite growth potential. That said, I’m still a work in progress (aren’t we all), but today I asked for guidance. This is it.

Can a Camel Get Through the Eye of a Needle???

There is a line in the New Testament where Jesus tells his followers that it’s easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle, than for a rich person to get into the Kingdom of Heaven. I grew up Catholic and this quote has been interpreted to tell people that having money somehow keeps you from getting into Heaven. And that not having $$$ gets you there quicker.

My view is that not having a dysfunctional ego will get us through the gates (or create heaven on earth), but that’s not the point of this post. Let’s focus on the camel.

I think that we missed the point, forgetting that Jesus was Jewish, and many of the examples he gave were rooted in his culture. Kabbalah is the mystical side of Judaism; I’ve been taking classes on and off since 2009, when I first moved to London. You’ll find all my Kabbalah posts here

In Kabbalistic lore, the eye of the needle represents the dark night of the soul. It’s represented by the Hebrew letter Kof; each of the Hebrew letters has a spiritual energy and meaning. That is half of the metaphor. The Camel is equipped to get through rough times. On a literal level, a real-life camel has enough water in its hump to survive travels in inhospitable desert environments. Metaphorically, water is empathy and emotional connection. On a Kabbalistic level, the letter G (the camel) represents spiritual strength and wealth of all kinds.

So based on this, I’d suggest that the camel is very well equipped to survive a dark night of the soul. Whereas money can pay for a lot of things (including therapy!), but money alone won’t get us through a dark night of the soul. We’d need a spiritual and emotional toolkit.

Without going into too much detail, Kabbalah provides us with a map for spiritual and psychological growth, a path to balancing that ego. The letter Kof crosses the veil that is known as the Void, where dark nights of the soul are said to occur in life. Emotional intelligence is needed there. Money may seem less relevant spiritually, but it’s always necessary physically. It gives us strength.

Emotional Strength & Compassion

I’ve written about the Kabbalistic Tree of Life before and how meditations can take us up and down those levels of awareness.

My teachers tell us to be cautious with our pursuits. As legend tells us, of four talented Kabbalists, one died, another lost his mind, the third became a heretic/disbeliever. Only the last Kabbalist thrived.

The one that survived did so because he leaned on the Element of Water. Have a look at this lecture from Spiritgrow:

I haven’t mentioned Kabbalah as much on my blog because it’s quite expansive - better suited for a book than for individual blog posts. But this aha moment helped me release limiting cultural programming.

Note 1 … For those of you who have seen the Tree of Life, Gimmel is on the path between the 3rd and 5th Sefirot. Kof is on the path between the 3rd and 4th. This is based on the paths by Rabbi Isaac Luria.

Note 2… The Bible passage starts with a question about whether any of us can be “good”, and continues with “if you want to be perfect, give away your belongings”. Thinking of ourselves as good/bad and wanting to be perfect are specific ego traps in kabbalah. Wanting to be perfect sends you back to square one. The “good bad analogy” is in the Youtube video 🐪

Are Angels for Real? Conversations with an Atheist ...

Last week I logged onto Facebook to share information about angels and how we can reach out to ask for help. An atheist replied with the statement that if angels and God exist, why don't they come together with a huge miracle to find food and shelter for everyone?

His comments were spot on; I have asked myself the very same thing many times and I was glad to receive that question in a public forum because it is important.

Also, if there is one thing we can learn from Facebook, it is that interacting with people from other walks of life can and should push us to question our beliefs.

Human Problems Need Human Solutions

When I have asked the angels that question, the answer is obvious: that many of the systemic problems in the world are human creations: extreme poverty, wars, climate change and even the health care system and who has access to it. Human problems need human solutions; it is up to us to fix them as our civilization creates these issues on a global scale.

The angels help us with ideas, courage, confidence and by introducing us to people with cooperative dispositions, but they are not magicians in the Disney "Fairy Godmother" sort of way.

That said, the angels can help us meet our needs. Archangel Uriel helps us find our footing with our mission in life, including rent, bills and other financial needs. As the angel of the element of Earth, Uriel looks after money & matter.

Angelic Help In Our Daily Lives

In our daily lives, angels can help us spot opportunities that already exist, but that we haven't seen. They give us strength and courage to go after them and often huge amounts of luck. We can also help them for help with small tasks; I asked Archangel Michael to delay a train for 2 minutes once so that I wouldn't be late to work (Read about it HERE)

Each of the archangels has a mission to look after. The feeling I have is that they want and NEED us humans to team up with them. Whether it is helping with peace efforts, economic growth and equality, sustainability or looking after vulnerable adults, children and ecosystems. The archangels are our friends, they support us and they want us to view them as teammates so that we can all work together =)

How Do We Go About It ??

We can start by connecting with them and becoming familiar with their energy. One of the themes in my book, Chakra Healing & Magick, is how we can team up with the archangels by activating our intuition and channeling their guidance into creative solutions. The idea is for us to take the lead in our lives, with our intuition as a GPS. The book is available in most countries where Amazon exists. 2022 Update: Now available in English and Spanish in the Bookstore

A Meditation with Archangel Uriel

One more thing! The guy from Facebook, his name was URIEL. If that is not a sign, I don't know what is! Thanking both Uriels for the message.

11 tips for a happy, successful and productive life ✨

In business school (yes, I did an MBA) we were encouraged to think about our strengths - what we were good at or passionate about - but also where we needed to improve to be well rounded.

This approach has been incredibly helpful for me. And surprise, surprise! Intuition is the secret; it points us towards our uniqueness or genius (that inner spark of creativity), which makes it easy for us to shine without being overly competitive.

Along those lines, here are 11 Tips for a happy, succesful and productive life. I need to come back to these more often myself. Enjoy!

  • Gratitude is the attitude! A prosperous life includes health, wealth, love, and emotional stability among other things. Take a moment to feel appreciation for what is going well in your life. Pay some of it forward - by sharing with friends or reaching out to those in need (of a hug, too!) Kindness goes a long way.
  • Focus on What Matters:  In my corporate days, I had a post-it system that got me through complex and high pressure projects. On Mondays, I’d map out priorities by listing everything on several post its, and I’d highlight the 3-5 things that needed to be done that week. The rest were fillers, and I’d knock out the easiest ones when I had to wait for others to advance on the priorities. It cleared tons of mental space, as I didn’t have think about what to do next. There is power in simplicity ... At one point, this got me through 26 simultaneous product launches / upgrades. Crossing off the small wins gave me a sense of accomplishment, enough to get through the big ones.
  • Hold yourself accountable for habits that influence your finances. Don't stick your head in the sand, hoping for a miracle. Ask yourself if you could be more motivated, disciplined or proactive. Make a commitment to yourself. Ask for professional guidance if needed.
  • Find a hobby you are passionate about and see how far it takes you! The resulting joy and enthusiasm will spill over to other areas of your life.
  • Invest in yourself and in your personal relationships. When you look back on your life, these are the connections that will make you feel blessed. If a friend is great at something you’d like to learn, ask for mentoring. Do the same for others.
  • Generosity: Time, money, energy and knowledge are valuable resources. Sharing is a good way to grease your manifesting wheels and break out of a scarcity mindset. Share in whichever way is easiest for you, and most effective
  • Talk Yourself Up! Know your self-worth and use affirmations to boost your confidence. If we believe in ourselves it's likely others will too, and in what we have to offer. We all have strengths and weaknesses; focus your affirmations on what you do well. If a phrase rings untrue, choose one that boosts your confidence and is believable. As mentioned in my book, Chakra Healing & Magick - we all have weaknesses. Work through them.
  • Branch Out! Think about turning that hobby we discussed into a side business, whether it's photography, organic farming, or even angel card readings. Start small and let it snowball with time. You'll be surprised!
  • Be more productive: When planning your week, start with the most loathsome task on your list. The one you'd love to ignore. With that done, the rest of your week will be a breeze! One of my dad’s friends gave me this piece of advice years ago and it has made a huge difference.
  • Visualise Success! Think about where you'd like to be in 5 or 10 years. Make an action plan and visualise yourself doing well! It helps to come back to this every year. Ask yourself if you’re still taking steps in that direction and if the goal is still relevant. Thank the Universe for guiding you to prosperity. You’ll still do (a lot of) the work, but it will help.

With that in mind, add a dash of magick💛 Chakra Healing & Magick includes creative tools to release self-doubt, limiting beliefs and stress - as well as a look at the placement of Fire (motivation) in your Aura.

Reiki hugs,
Regina
