Myth & Metrics: Let's Audit the Zodiac's User Interface
I want to run a cheeky but still serious analysis on astrology and will in the future need volunteers to be part of the study. I love astrology, and work with it for the metaphorical and self-actualization side that comes from integrating the Zodiac signs. But I’ve had planetary transits that boggle my mind, essentially when a planet’s current movements connect with a point in your natal chart. I want to see if the same applies to lots of people. I'm well aware that a few anecdotal case studies aren't reliable, as I worked in consumer healthcare years ago 💫
But also, I want to neutralize the ego trap of skeptics saying astrology is bonkers, and astrologers saying it's real. I'm not going to test all of astrology (yet) but will start with 2-3 hypothesis that either prove everyone right, or everyone wrong.
I'm sure you're curious, that is all I will say for now. There is a common adage in pop astrology (about outer planets) that I have never agreed with; that is what I will test. If my hypothesis is false, skeptics and astrologers will both be able to say "I was right!" I'm more than OK with that because it's a hypothesis.
Seriously though, I’d like to look at what makes transits hit us more or less strongly. And outer planets specifically, which are said to be generational, but do have an effect on individuals that is easier to trace. Just because they are slow moving, and potentially memorable.
In the meantime I'm going back to some of my math, stats and science friends for advice. If I am honest, thinking about necessary data inputs to make it verifiable and how to filter out confirmation bias - it's a lot. For example, would the event have to relate to the pizza slice it hits? Right now this is an intention for the future. Stay tuned!
How does this look in real life?
I documented some of my transits below. There was also a transit to my 10th House in 2006, the part of the chart that relates to career and public image. It coincided with chaos at work, and the timing lined up with me moving into higher visibility projects with film and sports licenses 🏈 The chaos happened when Uranus, the planet of disruption, passed my Mercury and my Lunar Eclipse in Pisces. I did well in spite of the chaos, and it ended up helping my career lol.
I wish I had my old work emails, but I have the movie release date in June 2006. The chaos led up to that. We pivoted to Pirates - the campaign won a prize for best new client/partner with Disney. I didn't go the awards ceremony and one of my colleagues accepted on my behalf. Like I mention in Chakra Healing & Magick, I wasn’t much of a public speaker back then. But I still have that Mickey statue.
