Remote Viewing for Skeptics

I recently finished a six-month class on Internal Family Systems Psychology, which looks at different parts of you and how they interact. I have two polarized parts, one is intuitive, the other wants to be rational and make sense of things, but more than that, that part of me wants to explain away intuition in rational and scientific ways.

In some way, I started this blog to document my experiences after I came across my former psychic school in 2010. If you check out the Rabbit Hole tab you'll find blog entries for that crazy fun journey.

There have been a few instances that I didn't write about, and that I don't know how to explain but that still boggled my mind. For example, in 2013 I signed up for a Remote Viewing class - where you use intuition to look at a target, and then verify what you saw. Our teacher gave us lots of different exercises.

The Time I Gamed Remote Viewing

One day she had us sit in pairs, with your partner sitting in front of you with their back to you. You had a piece of paper, you'd write 3-4 colors down on a list, then ground yourself, and beam one color at a time from your brow chakra, to the back of your classmate's head. The person sitting in front would say "got it" when they sensed the color, and you'd move onto the next one.

It was fun and weird. Before the session, we did a long meditation to activate our intuition.

Well wouldn't you know it, my classmate got all 4 colors I sent right, in order. I was nervous, and instead of waiting for him to send the colors one by one, to the back of my third eye, I clairvoyantly looked the card in front of him. I made a note of all the colors (six or seven) on his card, instead of the 3 colors that he sent.

We laughed at that and were confused, when we checked our answers, after the exercise.

So was that a pass/fail?

I don't know lol. Since then I have replicated this exercise in my own intuition classes. It doesn't always work, but then the experiments are on humans, not machines. We don't have a perfect batting average - even in sports. I'd love to hear your thoughts on the subject - join me on Instagram and let me know.

šŸ’Ÿ The tarot card in the photo represents the part of me that is (still) worried about what people would say about her. I keep wondering what my old philosophy and MBA professors and classmates would say about energy healing and psychic abilities. Some would take down data points to study it. And then my science friends would say to view it as an experiment.

That is the cool thing about remote viewing - you verify things. But as my first RV teacher told us, it's easier to train someone from scratch than to go from a regular (if that exists) psychic abilities class, to remote viewing lol.

šŸ’Ÿ In 2024, I went back for an extra workshop and I didn't do great with all of the exercises - they were all different really (here is an example).

I'm unburdening the part of me that doubts.

Reiki hugs,
