Is Manifesting for Real?

A while ago I wrote a post asking if spirit guides are real - pointing out that we have to challenge our beliefs, and also how we interpret what happens to us. Let's not get stuck in an idea or a worldview.

So today I'm going to take this approach to manifesting - is it for real? I don't think manifesting is for real, nor should it be the main focus in our lives. And honestly, I say this despite evidence to the contrary in my own life, i.e. things that I've manifested.

My issue with manifesting is that it's focused on ourselves, and what we can get in the material world. Personally, I've had good results applying conventional methods to get ahead - with help from my angels and guides. But still, it took drive and ambition to find a good corporate job in London, years ago. That and focusing on my personal competencies, and on the soft skills that were needed. Putting myself out there, networking, knocking on doors. Real world activities. And luck, that is always a factor with opportunities. In terms of manifesting - I haven’t had out of this world results ...

With regards to our vibration and personal energy, I do think we resonate with people based on who we are, and how much we believe in ourselves. I often use affirmations to boost my self-esteem, focusing on things that I know, for sure, that I do well (I'm a good writer, and I was proactive at getting things done) ... as I have mentioned elsewhere, if you believe in yourself, it's likely others will believe in you too. We all have strengths to rely on, focus on that.

Is there any truth to manifesting?

So, I have had success manifesting opportunities out of thin air (even things that seemed out of reach) but looking back on it, those things happened when the clock struck three, astrologically speaking.

For example, I wanted to be featured in a big magazine and when I looked at their guidelines, it said they took submissions from writers who were already in similar magazines. Not the case with me -  I let go of that particular dream and focused on something else. Shortly after, my intuition told me to celebrate every time I saw a published author in a magazine. And would you know it, a few weeks later, a writer from that very magazine reached out and asked me a few questions about what I do! They saw a guest post of mine on an astrology blog, I never actually reached out to the magazine myself.

I was mentioned in the magazine- briefly in print and online too. That was crazy. I thought I manifested it myself, and maybe I did, to a degree. But later, while looking at astrology transits to my chart, I noticed that the day I received the email from the magazine, Uranus (the planet that rules my Aquarius Sun) was exactly 120 degrees away from my North Node in Leo - the part of my chart that pushes me to shine, even if I don't want to ☀️ The planet Uranus is about things happening out of the blue. That 120 degree angle (the trine) makes it easy for things to fall into your lap with ease & luck, while other angles bring tension. The North Node sits outside your comfort zone; it's not something you chase. You may even avoid it lol. We usually do.

So maybe I manifested it myself, maybe the planets did - and maybe it just fell into place when the time was right. The thing is Uranus takes 84 years to circle through the Zodiac, and funny enough, there will only be a handful of days in my whole life (6-9 days) when Uranus would have been in a position to send something out of the blue - relating to my North Node. That email landed in my inbox on one of those days, which was crazy, in terms of coincidences. The online article was published when Uranus was 1-2 days away from my Part of Fortune, a transit that happens once in your life. It hasn't translated to material success (the article), but maybe it's an indication of what is possible. And what to focus on, too.

So, it didn't change my life, but it happened. I did get exactly what I asked for. The active part of the manifestation, for me, was to let go of envy, and/or the feeling that I wanted something that I would never be able to experience. I think that is how the magick happened - to be honest.

That magazine reached out when Uranus was retrograde, so moving backwards, and it makes you rethink what you want to do or become. The day it trined my North Node again in forward motion, I was doing something that I loved but never expected - teaching Reiki to little kids. Also LEO energy - playful, heart centered, and creative.

What if manifesting is about who we become?

This had been my take all along …My books are on energy healing and working through our beliefs and emotions - Chakra Healing & Magick looks at healing ourselves so that we're in the frame of mind to take advantage of opportunities that come our way. Namely, with Fire (confidence and heart), Earth (practicality), Air (logic) and Water (empathy). This ties in with the astrology chart. You can see what Elements are already at play in your life and personality. Dial up what's missing. In terms of planetary transits, we don’t have to wait for Uranus either - we can piggy back off the fast moving moon ❤️

So as you can tell, I think it's for real, and not, at the same time. A lot of what happens is up to us. That is a good thing 🍎🍎🍎

Thanks for reading the blog!

>> Note: I asked an AI for feedback on reading comprehension with this article (first time asking an AI). The reply was that I didn’t name the actual magazine - COSMOPOLITAN - because I was still shying away from that (healthy ego) Leo energy lol. So today, I’m ready to shine. Also, it answered a question I didn't ask LOL Feb 20 2026

Does sharing have to be selfless or painful?

One of the things that I have had to let go of is the idea that if we help someone, it has to be 100% altruistic - in order for the action to be good. I don’t know if this is an idea that I adopted in childhood seeing others hold up selflessness as good - “give till it hurts” etc. The world would be a much better place if we knew that it is always in our benefit to help others. We always get something in return, directly or indirectly 💛 🫶🏻 Research shows that kindness makes for a much healthier society. I read a book last year called Shadow, Self & Spirit on transpersonal (or collective) psychology. There was a chapter on the psychology of evil and violence. People are less likely to harm others if they experience some form of compassion in their lives, or if they believe that someone cares about them - even if it’s a public figure, a politician, a celeb, or a deity like Quan Yin. Or better yet, family members, friends, and strangers. Random acts of kin...

Looking into a Reiki Meta-Analysis (Clinical Study)

A few days ago, I came across a Reiki meta-analysis that was published last year. A meta analysis is a very large study that compiles other studies, in this case randomized controlled trials, and aggregates all of their data. As I have mentioned before, one of the challenging things about holistic studies, and clinical studies in general, is making sure that they accurately measure what they intend to measure. Note: I may come back to this in the future to keep refining information and thoughts, and to simplify it.  In the meantime, my first impressions :  Effects of Reiki therapy on quality of life: a meta-analysis of randomized controlled trials.   Syst Rev. 2025 Mar 27;14(1):72.    The participants in these studies were cancer patients, surgical patients and people with chronic issues (including high stress) who were not hospitalized. There weren't enough people in those study groups to generate reliable statistics for cancer vs surgery, but when all of them...

Vibrational Medicine by Dr Richard Gerber (Book Review)

People often ask if energy healing depends on the belief of the client - the placebo effect is real .  And while we   can  harness it by working through feelings and beliefs  that may undermine the healing process,   when I worked in  consumer  healthcare, research was  expected to outperform the placebo.   This is why I was happy to find a  book called  Vibrational Medicine,  by Dr Richard Gerber. It goes  through research done in labs and clinical settings. The book is a brick: 500 pages and almost too technical, but worth reading as an energy healer.   Below you will find highlights from Chapter 8 on Psychic Healing. Please note ,  Energy Healing is complementary to medical care, not alternative.   Dr. Gerber uses the term  'Psychic Healing'  throughout the book; however, in my own practice, I refer to these concepts as  'Energy Healing' based on my studies . Vibrational Medicine, by Richar...
