A while ago I wrote a post asking if spirit guides are real (see here) - pointing out that we have to challenge our beliefs, and also how we interpret what happens to us. Let's not get stuck in an idea or a worldview.
So today I'm going to take this approach to manifesting - is it for real? I don't think manifesting is for real, nor should it be the main focus in our lives. And honestly, I say this despite evidence to the contrary in my own life, i.e. things that I've manifested.
My issue with manifesting is that it's focused on ourselves and what we can get in the material world. Personally, I've had good results applying conventional methods to get ahead - with help from my angels and guides, but still, it was drive and ambition that got me a good job in London, 15 years ago. That and focusing on my personal competencies, and on the soft skills that were needed. Putting myself out there, networking, knocking on doors. Real world activities. In terms of manifesting - I haven't had monetary success that way (not yet).
In terms of our vibration and personal energy, I do think we resonate with people based on who we are, and how much we believe in ourselves. I often use affirmations to boost my self-esteem, focusing on things that I know, for certain, that I do well (I'm a good writer, and I was proactive at getting things done) ... as I have mentioned elsewhere, if you believe in yourself, it's likely others will believe in you too. We all have strengths to rely on, focus on that.
Is there any truth to manifesting?
So, I have had success manifesting opportunities out of thin air (even things that seemed out of reach) but looking back at it, those things happened when the clock struck three, astrologically speaking.
For example, I wanted to be featured in a big magazine and when I looked at their guidelines, it said they took submissions from writers who were already in similar magazines. Not the case with me - I let go of that particular dream and focused on something else. Shortly after, my intuition told me to celebrate every time I saw a published author in a magazine. And would you know it, a few weeks later, a writer from that very magazine reached out and asked me a few questions about what I do!
I ended up being featured - a line in print & in the online magazine. That was crazy. I thought I manifested it myself, and maybe I did, to a degree. But later, while looking at astrology transits to my chart, I noticed that the day I received the email from the magazine, Uranus (the planet that rules my Aquarius Sun) was exactly 120 degrees away from my North Node in Leo - the part of my chart that pushes me to shine, even if I don't want to. That 120 degree angle is about things falling into your lap with ease & luck. Your North Node sits outside your comfort zone; it's not something you chase. You may even avoid it lol. We usually do.
So maybe I manifested it myself, maybe the planets did - and maybe it just fell into place when the time was right. The thing is Uranus takes 84 years to circle through the Zodiac, and funny enough, there will only be a handful of days in my whole life (3-5 days) when Uranus would have been in a position to send something out of the blue - relating to my North Node. That email landed in my inbox on one of those days, which was crazy, in terms of coincidences.
It didn't change my life, but it happened. The active part of the manifestation, for me, was to let go of envy, and/or the feeling that I wanted something that I'd never be able to experience. I think that is how the magick happened - to be honest. Also, I had zero expectations around it.
What if manifesting is about who we become?
This had been my take all along …My books are on energy healing and working through our beliefs and emotions - Chakra Healing & Magick looks at healing ourselves so that we're in the frame of mind to take advantage of opportunities that come our way. Namely, with Fire (confidence), Earth (practicality), Air (logic) and Water (empathy). This ties in with the natal chart. You can see what Elements are already at play in your life and personality. Dial up what's missing. Trust yourself too!
So as you can tell, I think it's for real, and not, at the same time. A lot of what happens is up to us. That is a good thing 🍎🍎🍎
Please join me below, thanks!
