Seeing with the Heart Chakra

This week I am trying something new. I will close my eyes and see people with my heart. Still not entirely sure how it will work but I hope it will help me see the good in people. And it may also make people with more love in their hearts more noticeable. And others less so.

The thought came to me yesterday when I was sitting on a plane. Long flights bring lots of opportunities for deep thought and contemplation, lol. It also dawned on me that seeing that part of people is more useful than paying attention to what they do (for a living).

Its also a nice way to sense and feel your guides and angels. Rather than visualize them, you can feel them in and through the Heart Chakra. I can feel an angel around me sometimes. Today I also noticed a Merlin-type wizard guide. He gave me a pair of dice.

Its like he was giving me the gift of luck. How cool is that! It was also a message to get in the game though I am not entirely sure what that means. I will keep it in mind though as these messages and gifts are often given a few days or weeks before they are relevant.

Just landing in Mexico now! Adventure-time!

Does sharing have to be selfless or painful?

One of the things that I have had to let go of is the idea that if we help someone, it has to be 100% altruistic - in order for the action to be good. I don’t know if this is an idea that I adopted in childhood seeing others hold up selflessness as good - “give till it hurts” etc. The world would be a much better place if we knew that it is always in our benefit to help others. We always get something in return, directly or indirectly 💛 🫶🏻 Research shows that kindness makes for a much healthier society. I read a book last year called Shadow, Self & Spirit on transpersonal (or collective) psychology. There was a chapter on the psychology of evil and violence. People are less likely to harm others if they experience some form of compassion in their lives, or if they believe that someone cares about them - even if it’s a public figure, a politician, a celeb, or a deity like Quan Yin. Or better yet, family members, friends, and strangers. Random acts of kin...

Is Manifesting for Real?

A while ago I wrote a post asking if spirit guides are real - pointing out that we have to challenge our beliefs, and also how we interpret what happens to us. Let's not get stuck in an idea or a worldview.  So today I'm going to take this approach to manifesting - is it for real? I don't think manifesting is for real, nor should it be the main focus in our lives. And honestly, I say this despite evidence to the contrary in my own life, i.e. things that I've manifested.   My issue with manifesting is that it's focused on ourselves, and what we can get in the material world. Personally, I've had good results applying conventional methods to get ahead - with help from my angels and guides. But still, it took drive and ambition to find a good corporate job in London, years ago. That and focusing on my personal competencies, and on the soft skills that were needed. Putting myself out there, networking, knocking on doors. Real world activities. And luck, that is a...

Looking into a Reiki Meta-Analysis (Clinical Study)

A few days ago, I came across a Reiki meta-analysis that was published last year. A meta analysis is a very large study that compiles other studies, in this case randomized controlled trials, and aggregates all of their data. As I have mentioned before, one of the challenging things about holistic studies, and clinical studies in general, is making sure that they accurately measure what they intend to measure. Note: I may come back to this in the future to keep refining information and thoughts, and to simplify it.  In the meantime, my first impressions :  Effects of Reiki therapy on quality of life: a meta-analysis of randomized controlled trials.   Syst Rev. 2025 Mar 27;14(1):72.    The participants in these studies were cancer patients, surgical patients and people with chronic issues (including high stress) who were not hospitalized. There weren't enough people in those study groups to generate reliable statistics for cancer vs surgery, but when all of them...
