Burned, Hung and Drowned in a Past Life

Today I went for Spiritual Response Therapy and the things the pendulum pointed out were shocking! Apparently I have been burned, hung, and drowned in many past lives. Mostly because I have a history of channeling messages from Spirit. In most instances, I was betrayed by my community and even by family. It came up at least three times in the scanning process! Can't say I was surprised. This explains my reaction when someone accused me of witchcraft a few months ago, and in public - I stayed calm but had the weirdest reaction on the inside. He didn't say it in a nasty way but it was all I could do to keep my imagination from running in dark directions. Think I might use this as inspiration to write a story about past-life traumas.

This might also explain why I had to move across the world before I could open up to healings and readings again. It's a lot easier to experiment with this kind of thing when you're far from home and no one finds out about it. My hometown is very Catholic and I haven't told a lot of people about my new hobbies. Thankfully, my immediate family has always been supportive and they do know all about this blog. It's also just dawning on me that this past-life trauma could also be the reason for my quiet nature. I don't voice my opinions as often as I should. It's like I'm hiding my true self.

Today's healing was interesting. It's called Spiritual Response Therapy. It's something I will need to look into. Essentially the healer used a clear quartz pendulum to scan for  past-life issues that needed healing. She had this neat little book full of diagrams and the pendulum would point out the issue that needed resolving. Her intent was to find anything that was holding me back from setting up a healing practice. I had lots of fears come up: fear of failure, fear of disappointing. I'm glad we managed to clear those and now I just need to watch my thoughts and keep them positive (or at least neutral). It was a productive session and we followed up with a great reading about my business plan. Not only am I an energy healer, but I am meant to write about healing so that others will open up to it as well! Funny because I hadn't mentioned the blog to her in much detail but it came through very strongly.

Does sharing have to be selfless or painful?

One of the things that I have had to let go of is the idea that if we help someone, it has to be 100% altruistic - in order for the action to be good. I don’t know if this is an idea that I adopted in childhood seeing others hold up selflessness as good - “give till it hurts” etc. The world would be a much better place if we knew that it is always in our benefit to help others. We always get something in return, directly or indirectly 💛 🫶🏻 Research shows that kindness makes for a much healthier society. I read a book last year called Shadow, Self & Spirit on transpersonal (or collective) psychology. There was a chapter on the psychology of evil and violence. People are less likely to harm others if they experience some form of compassion in their lives, or if they believe that someone cares about them - even if it’s a public figure, a politician, a celeb, or a deity like Quan Yin. Or better yet, family members, friends, and strangers. Random acts of kin...

Looking into a Reiki Meta-Analysis (Clinical Study)

A few days ago, I came across a Reiki meta-analysis that was published last year. A meta analysis is a very large study that compiles other studies, in this case randomized controlled trials, and aggregates all of their data. As I have mentioned before, one of the challenging things about holistic studies, and clinical studies in general, is making sure that they accurately measure what they intend to measure. Note: I may come back to this in the future to keep refining information and thoughts, and to simplify it.  In the meantime, my first impressions :  Effects of Reiki therapy on quality of life: a meta-analysis of randomized controlled trials.   Syst Rev. 2025 Mar 27;14(1):72.    The participants in these studies were cancer patients, surgical patients and people with chronic issues (including high stress) who were not hospitalized. There weren't enough people in those study groups to generate reliable statistics for cancer vs surgery, but when all of them...

Vibrational Medicine by Dr Richard Gerber (Book Review)

People often ask if energy healing depends on the belief of the client - the placebo effect is real .  And while we   can  harness it by working through feelings and beliefs  that may undermine the healing process,   when I worked in  consumer  healthcare, research was  expected to outperform the placebo.   This is why I was happy to find a  book called  Vibrational Medicine,  by Dr Richard Gerber. It goes  through research done in labs and clinical settings. The book is a brick: 500 pages and almost too technical, but worth reading as an energy healer.   Below you will find highlights from Chapter 8 on Psychic Healing. Please note ,  Energy Healing is complementary to medical care, not alternative.   Dr. Gerber uses the term  'Psychic Healing'  throughout the book; however, in my own practice, I refer to these concepts as  'Energy Healing' based on my studies . Vibrational Medicine, by Richar...
