Children, Astrology and 12 Learning Styles

I don't have kids but my friends do and lately the conversations at lunch have revolved around schools and how some of the more progressive institutions adapt their style to match the different personality and intelligence types. This is fabulous because kids excel in different areas, and if we only test them in one, we'd be doing a huge disservice to their talents and to their self-esteem.  If we look at natal astrology for clues, we can see how each of the zodiac signs assimilates information in a specific way. We can then use astrology to tailor the learning experience to each child's needs, though it may be easier for parents to take this approach at home with their kids.  Kids Typically Have One of 12 Learning Styles  These are based on the Zodiac, as each of the signs has a way of learning and communicating themselves. When looking at a natal astrology chart for clues, we look look to Mercury, the planet of communication, and ...

Loving Your Body vs Your Physical Appearance

Of all the posts I have written on my blog over the past seven years, the one that gets most traffic is on how we can use a combination of energy healing and exercise to clear stubborn fat and cellulite from the physical body ( Read It Here ).  As far as weight loss is concerned, learning to deal with my emotions helped loads, and when I combined that with healing workouts to release emotional or mental baggage, well  voila ! I was happy with my size and shape (a BMI of 21, which is on the lower end of the recommended 18.5 to 25), even if I wasn't stick thin and I didn't need to be.   So I fully accepted my physical appearance and also felt that my weight gave me license to treat myself to a varied diet where no foods were off limits. This had been my approach for 14 years. Fun for a chocaholic with a sweet tooth that knows no boundaries. My rationale had always been: if I am relatively fit and I work out, why not? (And indeed, why not???)...

Love, Luck, Joy and Abundance - Need More?

So, I’m a geek when it comes to meditation and a few weeks ago I discovered a channel on Youtube that is so cool, I have come bac k to it almost every day. But first, let's rewind the clock to 2013 when I signed up for a creative writing class called the Tao of Writing, led by British author and healer, Steve Nobel.  During his welcome speech, Steve mentioned having been the head of a healing center called Alternatives, in London.  He had just left Alternatives and if I remember correctly, he was writing books and looking for his next move. Since then, Steve created a website called  The Soul Matrix  which is pretty awesome, full of resources for healers and spiritual explorers.  A few weeks ago I came across his meditations. Steve calls them transmissions, as the point is to download energy to your physical body and Aura. Each of these is like going to an energy healer for a  full one hour session - amazing!  They are fantastic (some are pret...

Affirmations To Unblock Your Spiritual Vision

A course in miracles talks about how we see the past, when we see something new. As an eternal student, I try to remind myself that what I learned in other classes doesn’t always apply to new concepts. But it can be really hard to apply that, and sometimes my own ego get’s in the way (wanting to be right lol) - and not feeling like a newbie.  But back to the concept, why do we see the past? In the first place - I guess on a psychological level, we look for reference points.  My go-to mantra is: Forget what you know.  For me, mantras and affirmations serve a similar purpose. The Tibetan Book of Living and Dying tells us that mantras are a shield to keep your conscious mind from drifting off into unconscious territory LOL.   Why Would One See The Past?  So for example, if we went for lunch and were introduced to an athlete, instead of viewing that new acquaintance as someone in their own right, we may project the feelings that we had ab...
