Songs To Manifest From the Heart

The past year I have been attending a yoga class where we sing mantras and sometimes dance songs. It is called Naam Yoga; I love that it puts me in a fantastic mood. One of my favourites is a mantra called Sacred Aum, by Dr Joseph Michael Levry. Listen to the clip here.  Some call Aum the sound of creation. This sound exists in several spiritual traditions: Amen in Christianity, OM in Hinduism and Aum in Kabbalah (one of the 72 Names of God from the Exodus). I love listening to music, but I didn't understand how it went with mantras until I came across Aum  again last week while reading Wayne Dyer's book,  Manifest Your Destiny .  In the book, Dyer walks us through nine principles that shift our worldview to one that is compassionate, collaborative and loving towards the people that we encounter. From this place of respect - where we genuinely listen to understand instead of listening to reply - he recommends meditations to manifest our heart's d...

An Experience with Crystals

Last December, someone close to me was diagnosed with a tough illness. They had surgery and began six months of medical treatments. A friend  and I went to the hospital to give her energy healing before the surgery.  In energy healing school, we learned a technique called Medical Intuition that involves communicating with the body to ask what emotional or spiritual aspects are there. Another aspect involves explaining medical procedures to the physical body before they take place, with the intent to minimise shock and assist with recovery. This happens intuitively during the energy healing session.  Energy  Healing Before Surgery  As always, I called on the archangels for help during the session. At one point, I was trying to run through the surgery mentally and I felt Archangel Raphael's presence, suggesting that I didn't know the specifics and that he could explain. So I pulled back, holding my hands around the outside of her Aura...

Have You Met Archangel Michael?

When I moved to London, I'd go for a jog in the park (OK, a brisk walk) and I’d ask the angels to join me. The main four, to begin with; I spent a lot of time getting to know them before venturing onto to meet the rest. Archangel Michael was first on the list.  There are more angels than we could ever hope to identify and at least 12 archangels overseeing the rest.  Each of the  archangels has a sphere of influence.  In school we learned to connect with Archangel Michael first, the angel of protection and courage. He sends the archangels that are best suited to help us. In my experience, even if we ask for one archangel, several show up! Laying the Foundations  Connecting with the archangels can be intense because the aim is to create shifts in our lives.   Archangel Michael teaches us to ground and shield our personal energy before meditating , so that we can receive clear and specific guidance from above.  My Chakra Healing & Magick book   ...

Book Review: Hands of Light, by Barbara A. Brennan

When I signed up for energy healing school in 2010, the first book on the recommended reading list was Hands of Light. Written by a former NASA scientist-turned energy healer, it is a classic in healing circles. The author, Barbara Ann Brennan, explores the Aura and Chakras in terms that are precise but also quite technical. As a new student, I skimmed the first few chapters and put it away. It has been sitting on my shelf for years, through several relocations, only to be consulted briefly when I had specific questions about an Aura layer or Chakra.  When I began teaching Reiki last year I decided that it was finally time to read it, cover to cover. The book is fantastic, and while there weren't many surprises as we covered most of the themes in class, I learned a lot from it (or remembered what I had forgotten).  Here are some of the concepts that stood out:  1) Chakras Have Two Components:   If we look at ...
