The Psychic Learning Curve

I signed up for two classes this term: ‘Remote Viewing’ and ‘Opening Your Channel.’ Both new territory for me. I had forgotten what it's like to be a beginner. The Remote Viewing exercises are unlike anything I have tried before. This week I struggled to get it. I think its because I want the reading to unfold in a particular way and it doesn't. I was also stressed that day and my mood wasn't helping much either. Grrr.

So what did we do in Remote Viewing this week? We were supposed to draw a squiggle, spontaneously, to match the object that we were remote viewing. People draw different things. I tried to clairvoyantly see the image and draw it, when we were supposed to just squiggle without thinking. I squiggled. Didn't match =/

The next exercise was better. The teacher had us tune into the inside of an envelope. We started by mapping our psychic coordinates (where we were, and what data point we were asking about: the envelope) before answering a series of questions. For example:

  • Is it solid?
  • Is there liquid?
  • Is it alive?

I saw a stone, like a dry pumice rock. So I answered Yes, No, No. We then went on to ask the following:

  • What color is it?
  • Is there a scent?
  • What do you hear?

I saw Red and Blue colors. Then I smelled sea water and salty air. I also heard waves crashing, an ocean. Hmmm. When we compared notes, the guy next to me also got the sea and waves crashing. I thought maybe a rock or a stone at the beach?

Not quite! The teacher opened the envelop and pulled out a postcard. The image was of a protest rally in Central London. I couldn't be further off, though it might have been my conclusion that was wrong. The colours in the image were grey, blue and red (so at least, I got colors right). I think the stone could have been the pavement. There wasn't any water in the picture though there was a pub in the background. I didn't pick up on the people in the picture. Some of the elements were accurate but overall, I had it wrong.

I was confused because I was expecting a specific object, not a photograph of an actual scene. Someone in the class got the word travel and that related to the bus. Could there have been an ocean nearby? Who knows. It was our first attempt at Remote Viewing. Next time I hope I will do better. The teacher said we had to be less serious and more playful about it all.

As with anything, there is a learning curve with psychic abilities. I just have to roll with it and see how it goes.

Remote Viewing & Mediumship

I’m on vacation in London for a few weeks - it has been ten years since I moved away and I find myself loving it. It’s my favorite city, by far. Didn’t realize just how many friends I still had here, and it’s been so cool catching up with everyone.

Along the way, I signed up for two workshops at my former psychic school - or the College, as we tend to call it affectionately. Funny enough, both workshops were held in the same room where I took my first classes, back in 2010, and where I later had to do a platform demonstration of angel readings. Have to admit I was feeling nostalgic.

The first workshop was taught by the remote viewer, psychic and podcaster, Ann Théato. We began with a few intuition exercises to read each other’s Auras and pinpoint areas of tension. My classmate saw stuck energy in my left ankle (I wear a compression stocking that wasn’t visible) and in my tummy - both impressions, accurate.

But the big surprise came when the teacher had us do the same psychic meditation that we did in my first ever clairvoyance workshop at the College, back in January 2010. You tune into your classmate’s home psychically, seeing and feeling it with your intuition, and describe it to them. When I attended that class 14 years ago, it totally blew my mind 🤩🤩🤩 Now it seems normal.

One of the things that stood out this week: I intuited that my classmates home should have music but that it wasn’t there. It turned out that her partner is a DJ and music was the norm for them, but his speakers broke down. The music was playing in his headphones, not the house.

By the look of it, most of my classmates were able to remote view each other’s homes. The teacher’s way of working was direct, a quick opening meditation and onto the good stuff.

After that we changed partners and tried a new exercise that blended mediumship and clairvoyance - tuning into the home of a family member that had passed away and describing their home. We didn’t know who the person was; finding out was part of the class assignment.

I felt it was my classmate’s paternal grandmother, and when I described the house, the look on her face was a clear confirmation. I liked this approach because looking at a loved one’s house is emotionally easier than receiving messages. Still not keen to go there, but it’s nice to know that it is possible. It gives people closure.

If you are interested in learning mediumship, Ann Théato teaches online at AnneTheato.comAnd of course, mediumship has been a huge area of focus at The College of Psychic Studies since Queen Victoria’s days. Founded in 1884 🫶🏻

Ps … I flopped at the classic remote viewing protocol. RV is a detailed psychic technique that has allegedly been used by law enforcement. My previous remote viewing posts can be found here (2013-14)

Controlled Remote Viewing with Lyn Buchanan

Last year I signed up for a class on Remote Viewing. It was pretty cool, not that different from what I had done before even though the approach is a lot more structured. You start with a blank piece of paper, write down a number for your RV target and then go through a series of questions that are answered intuitively.

Read about my first remote viewing class {link} to get a better idea of what it's like. I only took the beginners level class and would love to go back for more. My tutor was Debby Kay Edwards. I do hope she publishes a book one day with all of her exciting stories, tutorials and intuitive advice. Visit Debbie Kay's at silentwhispers.com.

This interview with Remote Viewing expert Lyn Buchanan will give you an idea of how it's been used.

Associate Remote Viewing and a Big Surprise!

I can't sleep, so I might as well blog. And I have a lot to write about this week! On Monday my Self-Healing, Cancer & Love e-book made Amazon's best sellers in the free Kindle store! It went all the way up to No. 9 and stayed there a whole day. Since then it's hung on in the paid Kindle store. Top 10 for 'cancer' and Top 20 for 'Mental and Emotional Healing'. Yay! Thank goodness for miracles =)

This week I'm an Amazon Best Seller! (or Best Giveaway-er)! I'm psyched so many people got the book. I hope it gets them to think differently about their lives, with or without cancer.  That's what I'm hoping.

My other big news ....

I finally cracked Remote Viewing! If you remember my last post about RV, I was  frustrated and confused with the  process. Couldn't wrap my head around it. Well this week things changed. We were told to come to class with two Yes-No questions. My first question was 'Should I stay in London' as I am tempted to go home (Mexico or US). Where would I be happiest and more on purpose?

We started by taking a white piece of paper and writing our name, the date, location, time, etc. Then we made a note of our Advanced Visuals (what came to mind before the reading) and how we felt. I was nervous and sleepy. Then the teacher read out the coordinate (the tag used to identify the image we were viewing). I wrote it down and immediate drew a squiggly shape underneath.

That squiggly is what we use to connect to the RV target. The teacher had two items hidden out of sight. Both had the same coordinate tag assigned, but one signaled YES and the other NO.

We then went through a list of questions, nothing to do with our overarching question. We were instructed to put our fingertip on the squiggly and close our eyes. Get a sense of the target:

Is it solid?
Is there liquid/water?
Is it alive?
Is it inanimate?
What do you hear?
What do you smell
Any colors?

I got solid (yes), liquid (no), alive (no), inanimate (yes), I heard an Edith Piaf song that I sometimes listen to on my iPod when I am out for a run. Didn't get any colors. And then finally when we were instructed to bring our attention to the centre of the room and "see" an object on an empty table ...

I saw an Apple.

The teacher came round to look at our answers. I was like, I saw an apple. I have no idea what that means! Well she did! But first, she told me my answer was NO.

What? Like really leave London? ...

It turns out that the object I remote viewed was a pair of APPLE earphones. The kind you use to listen to MUSIC. And it clearly had no liquid, no pulse, etc. I remote viewed the object that stood for NO.

How do I feel about this? Not sure. For years I wanted to move to London and when I finally landed a work visa (without a job offer) I couldn't believe my luck. That was in January 2009, right after the stock market crashed and things went haywire. But even so, it only took two months to find a job. And then I stumbled upon this psychic school. And eventually energy healing. It all came together.

So is that it then? I have some pondering to do.

My First Remote Viewing Class!

Yesterday I had my first Remote Viewing class!  It was really cool. We didn't go into the full on protocol or the theory, just a practical exercise. We started with a meditation to open up and protect our energy.  At each step, the tutor affirmed that we are going to achieve our dreams and goals. You are safe, etc. Its good to hear that, especially when I am trying to boost my confidence :-)

Then we took out a blank piece of paper. On the top right corner we wrote our name, the date and our location. This grounds you in the moment and tells the universe what location you are reading from.  Time and space don't really exist the way we perceive them. That is why time flies when you have fun and it drags when you are bored. Also, thanks to Distant Healing and the nature of our energy and attention, its easy to know that you can be one in one spot physically, and somewhere else mentally.

Next the teacher told us who we were going to read today: the classmate our left. I made a note of her name and then jotted down the time. Again, a marker that serves to situate us in time and space.

The exercise was simple, unemotional and and easy. We turned our attention to the blank sheet and wrote the classmate's name with the word colors underneath. Then, with the tip of the pen placed firmly on her name I asked, "What are her favourite colours" ... The answer came in a visual, I saw a green and pink pen that I used to have (and loved). The words green and pink kept flashing. I asked if there was anything else and saw a sky in my mind. So I wrote light blue, only to have the word sky blue come to my mind. All along the feeling I got about the exercise was to "run with it." It didn't matter if I got these all wrong. It is just practice. That kept the jitters away.

We moved on to repeat the exercise, asking about their favorite fragrance. I heard the word Jasmine. Is that too obvious, I wondered? Just wrote it down. I, Regina, couldn't remember what Jasmine smelled like anyway so I didn't think I was projecting. Next!

We asked about the music they listened to and the first thing that came to mind was a huge violin. Classical music, loud and crashing. Then the words concerto. I wrote it down even though I thought it might be my imagination. I like classical and instrumental music and recently discovered Lindsey Sterling who I can only describe as inspired. Look up her Phantom of the Opera piece on Youtube.

Next we asked about their favorite foods. What they eat. I kept getting italian: spaghetti and meatballs, even the red and white checkered table cloth that is common in Italian tourist traps. The word buttery also came to mind. I wrote them down. We went on to ask about relationship status, if they had kids, what hobbies they would enjoy and what their dream holiday would be.

When that was done, we we went through the answers. If it was correct, you put a checkmark. The fact that we got to verify our impressions  there and then was pretty amazing. Especially because we weren't asking emotional or private questions, which can be touchy. Most of us are happy to say, yes, orange is my favorite color and I do not smoke. Etc.

So I got the colors, the dream holiday, the music, the fragrance, whether they had kids, and the marital status correct (mostly). I was wrong about her smoking. And when it came to food and hobbies, the results were odd. She strongly disliked meatballs and Italian food, though she had lived in Italy so the concept of italian food struck a chord with her.  I tapped into something but I am not sure what.

Then, the hobby I saw was something she had been very interested in as a child but never pursued. So again, I might have tuned into the past or maybe I was just off. All in all, it was pretty cool. I am pleasantly surprised with Remote Viewing and with the experimental nature of the subject.

Next week we are going to learn the remote viewing protocol in more detail. I felt less pressure than I do when I am giving a regular reading. Maybe I just need to trust what I get and put it out there.

The Men Who Stare at Goats

A couple years ago I watched a George Clooney movie called The Men Who Stare at Goats. I couldn't stop laughing. At the movie, at myself, and at the thought of the US Military using psychic spies. The movie is a total a spoof. Oh, and it's loosely based on a true story. Seriously! I can't remember what it was about exactly, or what kind of psychic powers these spies were supposed to have. It was a tongue in cheek account that poked fun at the whole enterprise. As per my last post, it's good to have a sense of humour. I really enjoyed it.

Today I signed up for a class that touches on one of the military's experiments: Remote Viewing. This technique (or protocol, as the tutor calls it) can be used to tune into a different time or location, describe its contents, and then verify its contents. This was how the military tried to gain intel in the 70's. I wonder how accurate it can be. Hmm. The class starts in a couple weeks and I am really curious to see how it goes. Even with all I have seen and done the past few years, remote viewing still sounds unbelievable.

Here's the Movie Trailer

TV Mediums, Dreams and Premonitions

The past few weeks I have been watching the TV show Medium, with Patricia Arquette. It's about a psychic mom, Alison Dubois, who works part time solving crimes with the DA. Most of her visions and insights about cases come in dreams. And she wakes up in a fright after each one. That must suck.

The  psychic mom gets little bits of info at a time which send her in the general direction of the culprit but not quite. Sometimes I find the main character to be self-absorbed, because everything in her life takes second place to her dreams and sense of "righteousness." She had a dream. She has to act on it before they commit a crime, no matter what. Every now and then she takes a stand against someone and then realises that she didn't have a full picture. Ouch.

If anything, those experiences can teach the rest of us a lesson. Psychic impressions can be hard to interpret or place. A bad dream might scare you if you mistake it for a premonition. Not all of the things we dream about or sense will come to pass. I like to think of the future as a "Choose Your Own Adventure" novel. The choices we make tomorrow can take us down a different road, and the vision we had today can change. That is one of the reasons why I don't ask about the future very often. I would rather get a little head's up so I can adjust my behavior now and travel down a different road if possible.

That said, the show is a lot of fun. Her little girls are also psychic and you see how each if them handles it. And she does catch a lot of bad guys. The show is bases on a real life psychic. One of my tutors practices Remote Viewing - it wasn’t easy to wrap my head around! I don't see myself going in that direction, for now.

Through the Looking Glass - 15 Years of Magick and Mystery

Fifteen years ago, I discovered my first intuition book. I started reading it the exact month of my Saturn Return, at 25 Virgo 😅 For any astrology buffs, that return is when your soul makes sure you find your path. Saturn has now made it’s way to Pisces, the halfway point around the Zodiac, bringing all of this into focus. My astrology chart indicates a life of exploring and teaching.

So I thought it would be fun to make a list of all the classes I’ve taken the past 15 years, ever since this adventure started. Here is a recap with links to some of my blog posts.

Instead of going in order, thought I'd start with the six areas of study that have been the cornerstone of my healing practice:

  • BA in Philosophy from Tufts, 2002. Obviously my love of learning and writing is largely influenced by my time at Tufts. This undergrad degree gives me lots of structure, too.
  • Psychic Development at The College of Psychic Studies. I signed up for weekly classes in May 2010 and stayed until January 2014. Those are the psychic, spirit guides and angels classes listed below. The College offers certificates in several topics; I did not go down that route, instead taking all of the classes that interested me. Details below! 💜
  • Energy Healing Course at the School of Intuition & Healing, UK. Looking back, I still can't believe I completed this training. We had 18 full-day workshops over a two year period, with several assignments and 85 client sessions to graduate. Here is a write up from a client session. September 2010 - May 2012.
  • Usui Tibetan Reiki: When I finished energy healing school, I wanted to volunteer at a cancer center but the hospital only allowed Reiki. So I signed up for a workshop and it blew my mind! Reiki is easy to channel; it can be used for hands on healing and also to activate our intuition and ask for guidance. Six days of class in 2012 and 2013, becoming a Reiki Master in May of 2013. We learned a lot more than I bargained for: giving and teaching Reiki, automatic and distant healing, space clearing, clearing and programming crystals for healing, reiki homeopathy, etc.
  • Practical Kabbalah with a fantastic teacher in Mexico. This helped me grow as a person, a healer and a teacher. I had already been into Kabbalah for about 7 years before meeting Dalia but her classes made a huge difference. My 1st class with Dalia was in October 2016 and I took her weekly class for 2.5 years.

Ready to dive in? Find my books below:

In chronological order, here are the rest of the classes. Looking back, I’ve applied most of these themes, and not just taken lessons.

Most of the workshops lasted a full day - enough for beginners to open up and get messages. With the 10 week classes, we'd meet for two hours a week to flex our intuition. The most important thing is that we are consistent, and that we have fun.

  • Creative Writing in February 2009. One of these stories is mentioned in my book, Chakra Healing & Magick. I won’t say more so as not to spoil the surprise 🫶🏻 on Amazon Here 🔮
  • Kabbalah 1 & 2 at the Kabbalah Centre UK (Summer & Fall 09)
  • Cord Cutting Workshop with Sue Allen at CPS. December 2009
  • My 1st Psychic Abilities Workshop, two days in January 2010
  • Could I be a Healer with Natasha Wojnow at CPS (Feb 2010)
  • Angels & Ascended Masters Workshop at CPS. May 2010
  • Weekly Spirit Guides class with Michelle Hawcroft (May-Nov 2010)
  • This blog was born: Diary of a Psychic Healer, September 2010
  • Spirit Guides & Psychic Development at CPS. Winter Term 2011
  • Weekly Angel Intuition with Amanda Roberts at CPS from May 2011 - March 2013. This class was lovely; we connected primarily with the archangels and after a few terms, goddess energies. I skipped a one term in 2012 when the energy healing accreditation was too much.
  • Self Love and Manifesting Workshop with Cate MacKenzie at CPS - I still have a gold heart memento from class 🤍
  • Medical Intuition Workshop at the School of Intuition & Healing. 2011
  • Kabbalah Level 3 at the Kabbalah Centre UK - Fall  2012
  • Listening & Responding (Counseling Skills ) at a cancer center May 2013.
  • Cancer Treatments & Complementary Therapies at a cancer hospital, 2013.
    • Remote Viewing with Debby Kay Edwards at CPS. Two terms 2013.
    • Channeling: 8 Weeks at the School of Intuition Healing - Sept 2013.
    • Zohar Class at the Kabbalah Centre in London, most of 2013. This was my favorite from the K Center - it looks at the weekly astrology vibes and a mystical interpretation of the Torah 🫶🏻

In January, 2014 I left London and moved to Mexico City where I've lived ever since. In the summer of 2015, I went back to London for a term to complete the last level of angels, and I dove into astrology:

Mexico has a lot to offer too. This was when I began teaching. I was lucky to come across a wonderful holistic centre where I taught angels, tarot, astrology, and reiki for four years. I also had a radio show for a while (transcripts here) ✨✨✨

    • A Lucid Dreaming and Astral Travel Workshop in 2014 where I failed spectacularly. Two days of trying to fall asleep and not fall asleep 🕯️
    • Weekend workshop on channeling and psychic abilities with the friends who set up the spiritual circle mentioned below. This was in 2014.
      • Awakening the Illuminated Heart Workshop in Mexico City - four days of meditation and manifesting in March of 2015. I am not into some of the New Age concepts in this class, but the manifesting meditation is great and I took it again in 2019.

      • Tarot & Angel Card Reader Class with Doreen Virtue and Radleigh Valentine in 2015. It was a Christmas gift.
      • Failed attempt at A Course in Miracles: November 2015 to early 2016. This class is great, well worth it, but it’s just not for me. I quit this quickly, but made good friends.
      • December 2015: Intro workshop on quartz crystals at Anahd Centro Holístico. It was taught by a fellow healer, Claudia Lechuga. This was a halfday workshop - Anahd is where I taught intuition and energy healing for several years, until the pandemic.
      • Predictive Astrology online class with a fellow astrologer and blogosphere friend, Nic (2016). The following year I became a guest blogger her website, focusing on healing with astrology and magick.
          • Spring 2016-2018: A weekly circle with a group of healers and psychics. We all took turns presenting different topics: astrology, crystals, tarot, meditation, Kabbalah. The highlight may have been 6 months on the 13 Clan Mothers and the Moon, based on Jamie Sams book of Spiritual Psychology. Amazing.

          • Spiritual Psychology 2017: One of my college friends is a spiritual psychologist - she set up a 12 week class where we learned to work through our own baggage. It was geared towards inner work; I am not a trained psychologist or counselor.
          • Planets & Numerology - Feb 2017. Six weeks on numerology, also at Anahd - it was a theoretical class that looked at lots of topics. Mainly, how to integrate planetary energies - I went back for the next round of class✨
          • Theta Healing Basic DNA: three-day workshop on energy healing that I absolutely loved. It's very similar to my energy healing school so I didn't continue with their classes, but I read a lot of their books and they are really fantastic. August 2017.
          • Usui Holy Fire®  and Karuna Reiki® - February 2019. I loved this class and recommend it highly. The curriculum includes Usui Reiki and theories on the soul & spirit. It empowers us to release conditioning and be our most authentic selves.
          • Crystal Healing at Hibiscus Moon Crystal Academy in 2020 ✨ The certification lasted 8 weeks and I signed up for the weekly livestreams for two years during the pandemic. It kept me sane and happy. The school has since closed; it was a good one.
          • Three weeks on Environmental Psychology at Pacifica Graduate School. Took this out of curiosity during the pandemic. Loved it.
          • Time Travelers Guide to the Universe + Intro to Quantum Physics with Denise Linn and her brother (a university physics professor). I had a lot of fun with this class. Lots of aha moments around energy healing, Kabbalah and quantum physics.
          • Working with the Spirit Doctors - online class at The College of Psychic Studies with Susan Gash. This is one of four classes that I took during the pandemic and I loved it. I took the short courses that last 6 weeks.
          • The College of Psychic Studies went online during the pandemic and I signed up for a few classes out of nostalgia. More magick 💙

I think that is everything. That and lots of books and self-study. There was one astrological wizard class that I left on standby and I might go back to finish it - took me about a year to get through the first six modules. But it’s time to focus on teaching and writing. You'll find my books on Amazon. Chakra Healing & Magick has the basics - how to channel energy healing!

#FunnyFact: The name Hermione comes from Hermes, the ancient messenger-god, who rules my natal chart because of my Gemini Rising and three big planets in Virgo. Born on a Wednesday too 📝
