My Distant Healing Workshop

There is so much to tell about the last few weeks, I already have six posts typed up and waiting to be published. Today I'm going to zoom in on one exciting adventure, the distant healing workshop I attended 2 weeks ago. This was the same event where I gave the energy reading that linked back to the Little Mermaid (sigh ... so much fun!).

The day started out with basic energy management, space clearing, and then that afternoon we moved on to our first distant healing session! Distant healing comes naturally to most of us, if you've ever prayed for someone to recover from an illness that's distant healing. We also send love and light to our friends and family. Overall I'd say there are 2 big differences between the distant energy healing we learned in class, and the prayer based healing I learned as a kid from my non-psychic parents:

1)  In any healing session the healer will use their body as a channel for healing energy. This applies to contact healing where you are physically standing in the person's aura, as well as to distant healing. We started out by grounding, centering and throwing down our energetic roots so that we could draw earth energy up from the center of the earth to our heart chakra. The next step was attunement, you use your intention to connect to the highest purest form of energy, and bring it down through your crown chakra to your heart. When these two energies mix, you really feel your heart expand and start to overflow with healing energy. In the case of contact healing, the energy is channeled down the healers arms and out their palms into the healee's energy field. With distant healing, we use our intent to send the healing energy straight out from the heart and across space to the person we are healing.

2) The healer channels the energy without asking for a specific outcome, so technically we aren't supposed to wish or promise tha they will get "better". The healing takes place in the best interest of the client, but we have no idea what that might be. This might be a reflection on the way that I was brought up, but as a kid we usually prayed for good things to happen to people, and our prayers were influenced by what we thought was a good thing. For example, I might have prayed for a classmate to recover from leukemia, but what he really needed was a peaceful and painless way out of life. It has more to do with the state of mind of the healer, and knowing that we are just channels for the energy (we can't control or influence the outcome). The benefit is determined by the person we are healing, and their path in life including any difficult lessons they might need to learn.

So on to the distant healing excercise!

The teacher lined us up on two sides of the classroom, in pairs so that we were each facing the fellow student that we'd be working with. There was a lot of space between us to make sure that we were out of each other's auric fields. First off, it was my turn to send energy to the woman that was sitting across from me. I had my doubts about distant healing, and in an effort to overcompensate I may have bombarded her with energy. My eyes kept drifting open and shut, as if to check in on her. She opened her eyes a few times and I was worried that my gaze might make her feel uncomfortable, so I let my eyes go hazy and looked at her aura instead. If you remember the 90's, there were these pixeled posters that were all the rage. If you looked straight at them you'd see a bunch of dots, but letting your eyes relax would bring out shapes of buildings, monuments or angels. This fuzzy eyesight is the one I use to look at aura's, still a beginner and I get tired so the visual won't always be clear. It was enough to keep my focus on the classmate during the healing session.

We went on like this for about five minutes and then the teacher had us do a quick feedback session. It was cool because she did feel the energy coming her way, she described it like having someone invade your space. In a good way. She gave me feedback on where the energy was concentrated, which was cool because I hadn't sensed it during the healing. We went back to our seats and she distant healed me. It was a peculiar experience, that's the only way I can describe it. For starters, I felt the energy very strongly, with a lot more pressure than I get during contact healings. At the time I was getting over my conjunctivitis and my eyes were still sore and tired. The first thing I felt was pressure on my forehead, and it built up like a tornado that was sucking all of the excess energy from the brow chakra. I could feel this whirwind of pressure on my skin but also in the air in front of me. It must have gone through the etheric, emotional and mental layers of my aura. It felt good while it lasted, and all along I was conscious and happy that my eyes were getting healed because that's what I needed the most.

Angels in the Outfield - Part 2

So moving on from last week’s teaser, the angel meditation class was really touching. For starters it lasted two hours and still flew by, which says a lot because I was always anxious to leave after an hour with the spirit guides. It's not to say that I didn't like the spirit guides, but back then I was new at psychic readings and I would clam up after five minutes. As you know I have been practicing on Facebook, and the feedback has really helped me gain confidence. My ego still makes an appearance, but in general I am much more relaxed. So thanks for letting me practice on you, it has helped me come a long way! :-)

Back to the angels class, the vibes were really something else, as soon as I walked through the door I felt a  bright airy buzz. Angels can  come very close to our dimension, and we didn't have to astral travel talk to them. When I communicate with spirit guides I see them through my third eye, but its like I am looking through spying glass at a far away location. Or better yet we use meditations to travel to that far away location and talk to them on the astral plane. Astral traveling is great fun, and you see things that you wouldn’t begin to imagine.  But there was something about having the angels in the room with us that made the experience concrete. And the best part is that they’re with us more often than we think, we just need to be more aware so that we can sense their loving support on an everyday basis. Lol, I even use cheesy language when I write about angels, but that's how they make me feel [sheepish grin].

The meditation we used to connect was very simple. First we closed our eyes, focused on our breathing and threw our roots down to draw earth energy up through our legs into our base chakra. We then placed a ball of light between our base and sacral chakras as an anchor. Being centered allows for clearer messages. Then we let the earth energy flow up to our heart. The next and last step was to bring while light down from Source (or heaven if you wish, though I am not sure the concept applies), through your crown and into your heart. The tutor didn't talk us through opening our brow or crown chakras, but my throat did open on its own which was a pleasant surprise. This is the second time that happens spontaneously, and once again I was able to hear the messages clearly.

At this point we started to sense the angels, there were two in the room according to my classmates but I only sensed Archangel Gabriel. He (or she) is responsible for children, pregnant women, creative projects, poets, writers, bloggers, communication, and dreams. I tried to see, feel or hear her and I got impressions of long blond wavy hair, but not a figure or colors. Rather I sensed her as shimmering energy that flipped back and forth between female and male, the qualities were mostly feminine but there was something masculine in the strength and force of the presence. It didn't feel the least bit human, and that reminded me of a passage in one of Doreen Virtues's books. There is a question and answer section where Doreen asks the questions on behalf of her readers and the angels answer. Someone asks if extraterrestrials exist and have they ever visited earth? The angels say that if we define extraterrestrial, as a being that is not originally from this earth, then yes! The angels go on to say that they themselves are not of this earth, and they visit it frequently.  So back to my point, Archangel Gabriel’s presence was lovely but it wasn't human. The long blond hair was most likely a projection so I would see the feminine side, but it always went back to the shimmering light and after a few minutes I gave up on trying to give it definition (as I would with spirit guides who usually appear fully clothed in human form), and just let her talk to me.

The meditation went on forever and I sat there listening to what Gabriel told me about my life.  The key messages were about making sure I made an effort to talk to my family more often, saying that physical distance can shrink if they are close to your heart. My mom was on a flight back to Mexico that evening, so even though I left the class really wanting to call her, it was two long days before I got her on the phone. The other thing I remember is that Gabriel told me that when people see what I can do, they will be surprised but it will be proof enough that they won’t think I am crazy (which is one of the things I worry about, especially at work and  in "real life" where people don't go around removing their friend's headaches and talking to the "invisible" angel in the room). Anyhooo, this is not the first time I get this message. One more than one occasion my classmates have given me readings where the  message is that my practical life and my spiritual life will be able to mesh well. There has even been talk of healing people at work to meet my course requirements. I’ve already included a few friends from work in my assignments, but for the most part this isn’t something I discuss there. And not in detail.

At this point I wanted to move on to my classmates reading and began to stress about missing it. I asked Gabriel if we could move on to the second part of the reading, but she said that it was still my turn. A few minutes later I started to get nervous again, and asked when we were going to move on to the next bit. I didn’t’ want to come out of the meditation and tell my classmate that I had forgotten to ask for her reading. Not sure if angels laugh, I didn’t get a sense of it here but what I did get was the clear message that Gabriel knew what she had to tell me and not to think about anything else. There was still time. It went on for another 5 minutes and then the teacher brought us back to the room so that we could write our messages in a notebook. This is really important because its very easy to forget what you heard. As it turns out, we were taking a break before going back in for the 2nd part of the message, the reading for classmate. It was pretty funny because I wasn’t the only person who had misunderstood the instructions; one of the guys in the circle had also been pressuring Gabriel to get the reading for the class and was also told to wait for it. The reading I ended up doing for my classmate was really lovely. Gabriel showed me an image of a footstep in the sand, and then went on to tell me that she (my classmate) touched the heart of the people she met in her life. The words were actually in Spanish, my native language, and I think I lost part of the message in translation. Overall it was really nice, left me with a warm fuzzy feeling.

At the end of the day the teacher guides the meditations, but she also went with what the angels were telling her to do. Its like they’re setting out a curriculum of things that we are meant to learn and discover, and I’m really excited to go back for the next two months and get to know the rest of the archangels. There are people who ask me if I’m scared when I go to these classes, but the truth is that the energy and the vibes feel so good, that its not possible to be scared when they are there. I felt trust with the angels like I never felt it with the spirit guides. Even so, it’s a slow burn, it will take many sessions to get to know them an recognize their vibes. If anyone else it out there, I’d recommend that you make sure you get to  know the being that you’re talking to before you start acting on any of the guidance. And at the end of the day, use your common sense and ask your higher self if the message will make your life better. More importantly, pay attention to how you feel when you are with them. Not everything that shines is good, and not everything dark is bad. I’m sure those of you who work with Melchizedeck can "like" this idea. Thanks for reading about my experience, and please share if you like it =)

Angels in the Outfield

The last thing I planned on doing today was to come home and write on my blog. I've had the busiest few weeks and I really need to get to sleep early. Plus there's a lot to do at work tomorrow! But sometimes I can't resist the urge to write about what happened to me, most of all so that I won't forget these experiences. Things are fresh in our minds for just a few days and then they turn into memories, the details get fuzzy or we forget about them altogether. So it's 10:20, I will give myself until 10:30 and then I will publish the post without reading it. Apologies in advance for any typos or incomprehensible streams of consciousness. =)

Today I finally made it to my angel meditation class. It started two weeks about but I was home for the holidays the first week, then travelling the second week and by the time the third week rolled around I was doubting whether or not I'd actually make it to class. Today I ran from work at 5.20 pm, there's a shuttle bus that I have to catch to get to the train station that brings me to London. And from there I will usually tube it (London speak for take the underground). If all goes well, I am fifteen minutes early and that gives me just enough time to get a sandwich and make it to class. The school's front doors shut at 7 pm when the receptionist leaves, so if you're 5 minutes late you might be locked out and no class for you! So today the shuttle bus was late to the train station, I missed 2 trains to London and I got to Paddington about 15 minutes before the class was meant to start. Thank God the Circle Line was one time and I made it to my destination just as the receptionists were locking up! Phew!

The angel meditation class was on a floor that I'd never been on, which is always interesting because everyroom at the College has a different feel to it. A lot of people complain that its haunted, and it probably is but I'm lucky enough not to notice those things. The classroom felt really light and airy when I walked in, it was a welcome change from the room where we had the Spirit Guides class. I felt instantly cheerful, and excited to meet my new classmates. There are only six of us in the class and one of the women was missing today. I'm not going to describe the people in my class except to say that there's a French guy with a very strong angelic presence, as soon as I walked into the room I could sense it on his aura. He and another woman are also doing the two year healing course, although we're not taking it at the same school (but strangely enough, it's the same curriculum and most of the teachers are invovled in both of our programs.). It was pretty interesting because straight off I felt a connection to the group, and it was touching to know that at least 1/2 of the class is going through very similar experiences at the moment.

The past couple weeks I've been wondering whether or not I want to stay in London. I really love it here but my family is pretty far away, and its a struggle sometimes to be on the other side of the world. But then there are times like today when I had a great day at work and I realized how much I like the people I work with and the company's atmposphere. And then I made it to class just in the nick of time and it turns out that I'm now part of a really cool group that gets to talk to angels, and learn to heal people, the planet, animals, etc. It's a pretty cool existence and I'm lucky to have it. Next time I'll tell you about what it's like to talk to Archangel Gabriel, he's actually a she. And she's the angel of communication so it makes the psychic readings a lot easier. It was the 2nd time so far that I've been able to get through an entire reading/meditation by asking questions and actually hearing the answers in the form of a voice. With my lovely Spirit Guides I got music, cartoons, clips from movies, shapes, mountains, landscapes and the occasional dragon. Spirit Guides are fun because they're theatrical and the experience feels like a trip through the rabbit hole. But Angels come to you, and you can stay grounded in your plain old sitting room and just listen to them speak. At least Gabriel, will tell you about the other ones as the weeks go by.

Healing with Song

Healing can come in many different ways, some of us like to channel energy and clear blockages. Other people like to go for a  walk, talk to a friend or watch a funny movie. At the end of the day we need to release pent up emotions, and our weapon of choice can be as varied as our hairstyles and our wardrobes. Learning to channel our emotions is the corner stone in self-healing, without it we will have a tough time getting to the root of our physical discomfort.

One of the authors I am reading at the moment describes emotions as the language that the body and soul use to communicate with each other. In her book, Your Aura and Your Chakras: The Owner’s Manual, Karla McLaren explains that our soul floods our consciousness with emotions when it needs to communicate, mainly because our conscious physical self doesn't speak the required spiritual language.

If we don't acknowledge these emotions and deal with them, that message will then manifest in the physical body as pain or disease. Based on this rationale it becomes extremely useful to welcome even our dark feelings, and even to marinade in them befor moving on. I don't know about you, but I don't want to end up with chronic pain in my left knee.

Some of us can fall into the trap of over analyzing our problems, and rather than bask in our emotions we're too busy thinking to acknowledge them. I'm definately guilty as charged, so I've come up with a neat trick to make sure I give myself a chance to listen to what my soul is telling me.

One of the greatest outlets I've found is music. I will often put my iTunes on shuffle and wait for the right song to come along. When it does I will sit back and let it wash over me, listening to the melody and the voice rather than the words. When the song is over you can play it again, or turn the music off and meditate on that emotion until it is no longer needed.

Now Time For An Experiment

I am going to link to three songs on Youtube, listen to them and try to feel their mood. They won't all be in English but if you pay attention to the melody and the tone of voice, you'll be suprised by how much you understand. Write about how you felt with each song and please leave a comment with your impressions.

A Question for the Ages

This post is a question so I will keep it short and sweet. The whole thing came about when I was watching a channelled message from Archangel Michael on Youtube. One of the things we hear about Michael is that he's the captain of an army of Angels, and that he's spent his entire existence fighting evil. After all he was the one that took to Lucifer and kicked him out of heaven.

So my question is, when the Angels descend upon the Earth to help us fight "Evil" what are they really fighting against? And to clarify I don't like the word evil,  I'd rather think people are selfish, misguided, egomaniacs, or megalomaniacs. So my question is: are the angels fighting unseen forces or misguided humans? With the exception of natural disasters, most major tragedies have been caused by people. I'm not going into details but I'm sure you can think of a few. This is the video that got me thinking about where the problems lie, please share your thoughts in the comment box below.

Musical Chairs and Psychometry

I went back to school today for a full day healing workshop. The first lesson had to do becoming aware of our own energy field so that we could detect intrusions. At one point our teacher had us play something like musical chairs, imagine yourself sitting on a chair and feeling your own energy before you get up and swap with the person to your left. We were instructed to sense our classmates' energy, with the intention of spotting the differences. We made note of what we saw, then focused on sending our own energy into the chair and owning the space - thus eliminating our classmate's energetic imprint.

We started out by sensing our own energy. The teacher asked us to pay attention to the way we felt and to scan our body for anything that might be out of place. My left leg felt heavy, I spent all day yesterday on a transatlantic flight and this will usually affect my circulation. A couple years ago I had a thrombosis after a long flight, and I usually make myself walk every hour or so to make sure the circulation keeps going. I was wearing my compression stockings during the class and it was a little uncomfortable, so that didn't surprise me.

That was the strongest sensation in my physical and etheric body. The classmate that I swapped chairs with sensed this, telling me that she felt pain down my left leg. The mental layer had a big surprise, as you may recall I had an eye infection a few weeks ago and have been complaining of tired eyes. This was actually manifesting in the mental layer, about a foot and a half in front of my eyes! I could sense it very strongly, and I'm guessing that my eyes were still getting cloudy because I hadn't cleared it out. Thankfully one of my classmates cleared my brow chakra during a distant healing later that afternoon.

This went on for a few minutes and then we switched chairs. Once again, the instruction was to observe without passing judgment or trying to change anything. We have used this chair swapping technique a couple times in my psychic development classes and my brain instantly switched to psychometry/psychic reading mode. Rather than feel her energy, my third eye popped open and I saw was the big seashell from Disney's The Little Mermaid, if you remember the story the evil sea monster Ursula takes Ariel's voice  and gives her human legs.

Ariel then sets off for dry land, looking to win over the prince that she fell in love with. The problem is that without her voice, the prince doesn't recognize her and he keeps looking for the girl he met on the beach, who he recalls by her song.  With the visual of the seashell came the sound of Ariel's voice, which I heard clearly the melodic Ah-Ah-Ah from the movie.

If you remember the story, Ursula uses the seashell to lure the prince away from her, and its only when she gets her voice back that the humans recognize her for who she is. The moral of the story, was that my classmate needed to use her voice to express her personality and her opinions, instead of censuring herself. I think this resonated with her, but unfortunately we only had about a minute to talk it through so I'm not sure I got the message across.

All in all the exercise was really cool, and it served to illustrate how we can sense other people's energies. In my case, I went straight into clairvoyant reading mode, but if I had been working clairsentiently I might have felt a constriction on my throat. The way that my classmate sensed the pain in my leg illustrates the danger - for lack of a better word - that mixing with other people's energy can pose.

If we take a seat on the subway and the person who was there before us had a headache, we might feel the headache and mistake it for our own pain. The idea is that we can absorb other people's energies and feel their pain, and if we're not careful we can hang on to it. The practice of owning the chair by infusing it with your own energy will be a lifesaver on the public transport system. I like to fill the seat with white light before I sit down, and then concentrate on sending my energy down through the chair and into the earth. This begs the question of what the next person will feel when we leave, so responsible energy management might call for a little light shower before we move on.

Hope you liked this post, here's the clip from The Little Mermaid:

Is there a gene for psychic abilities?

This week I'm on holiday in Mexico, enjoying time with friends, family and lots of down time. Before I left London I bought a book called A Discovery of Witches. There's a Wiccan pattern emerging on my Kindle list, first the History of English Magic and now a romantic thriller filled with vampires and witches.

It's a cross between Twilight and Indiana Jones, the protagonist is a dormant witch who takes up a career as a college professor in the history of alchemy, chemistry and science. Along the way she stumbles upon an enchanted book, falls for a 1,500 year old vampire and manages to antagonize her entire community. The fictional story delves into the DNA of vampires, witches and a 3rd species of creative geniuses referred to as daemons (think tortured artists)

The vampire in the book is a geneticist, and he's recruited a team of geneticist vampires to research the origins of the 4 species on earth. Humans being the last boring group, who have unfortunately evolved over time to lose their supernatural abilities. They mention certain genetic markers in witches that indicate proclivity towards specific magical powers, i.e. there is a gene that enables you to speak with spirits, another one that helps you cast spells, one to see the future, another one to help you levitate, control the four elements, etc. So this got me thinking, is there a gene for psychic abilities?

When I tell people that I only started developing my psychic abilities in my late twenties, they ask me if anyone can do it. I went through basic meditation for at least a year before I started getting solid impressions, and even though I try to tell them that anyone can follow this path a lot of my friends are sure they have no natural talent for it.  And then a few others are obviously psychic, even though they are not aware of it. Now that I've learned to recognize the markers I will often see signs of psychic ability in others, especially in the way they empathize with friends and how they guess my thoughts before I voice them. Telepathy as a concept is already engrained in our modern day culture, even though few people have a grasp of how it works.

My theory is that our thoughts can be projected inwards when we are reflecting on something, but they can also be projected outwards when we are engaging with people and reacting to what they say. I'm not sure how to describe it, but sometimes my inner voice is louder than usual and my intention directs it at the person I am speaking to. I usually follow up by repeating the statement outloud, but I've noticed that certain people will actually respond to that thought before I voice it. It's happened a lot with one colleague in particular, a thought will pop into my mind and as soon as I mention it she exclaims that she knew I was going to say that. Or I send her an email and she tells me that I popped into her mind just before she received it.

The last time it happened she chalked it up to knowing me pretty well, even though we've only known each other for a few months. I think some people get to know me quickly because they are able to sense the subtle communications that I send out on an energetic level. Most people would describe me as calm, quiet and discreet. A lot of them say they can never guess what I'm thinking, and the reason for that is that I use energy to react rather than facial expressions. One of the reasons I've always thought psychic friends would come in handy, is that unless people can tune into those messages they might interpret my silence as aloofness or lack of interest.

Most of my close friends know about my supernatural hobbies, and some of them are also accepting the fact that they are a little bit psychic even though they aren't interested in developing it. If they tried I'm sure it would come very easily, so back to my question, can anyone become psychic or do we need to have a predisposition towards it?  I still believe that with discipline anyone can learn at least one psychic skill, but there is a lot of evidence pointing to pockets of light that are waiting to be untapped in certain individuals. Does my telepathic colleague have a gene that lets her hear my thought-projections? Not sure, but something makes her different from the other people we work with.

Using Spells to Heal Yourself

Today I went out and bought The Book of English Magick, as far as I can tell its more of a history than a How-To-Book and it suits my mood. I was drawn to it after my experience with spells & healing. Yesterday I was feeling ill, and when I was meditating and healing myself I realised that there was a virus in my body that was giving me fever chills in my muscles, a bad sore throat and also conjunctivitis in my eyes. I'm not a doctor so from a medical perspective I don't know if they are linked, but on an energetic level it was one and the same.

My mind went back to my last healing class, our teachers explained to us that most illnesses filter through our aura until they reach our physical body, and then they need to travel back out again. The past few days I'd been feeling heavy energy and buzzing around my head, and in my gut I could tell that it was directed towards my eyes. I wasn't suprised when I woke up on the morning of the Royal Wedding with an inflamed red eye, and I couldn't open it. I also noticed that even though my eyes were itchy and in pain, as was my throat, my aura felt clear for the first time in a week. The bug had filtered through to my body and I had to get it back out again.

So I was lying down on my bed, listening to the fever and the chills and trying to understand where it started and where it ended. I had the intention of listening to it and then kicking it out, but I couldn't figure out how to do that. Would I need to push the virus out? Using what? I can't use my hands to reach inside my body, I know there have been lots of psychic healers out there who claim to perform psychic surgeries but so far I haven't seen proof that it's true. My intuition told me that my etheric body, the very thin layer of our energy body that lines our skin should manifest the illness and that was where I could work with my healing hands.

The problem was that my etheric body felt light as a feather, and I still felt the chills and the fever inside. At that point my inner voice suprised me by screaming "EXPELLIARMUS" which is really just a fancy Harry Potter way of shouting "GET OUT!". And I took that as a cue to expell the virus with my intent, so I started chiming in and repeating Expelliarmus. It felt really weird, like a gooey electricity was oozing through my skin and settling in the etheric body. I could feel it very strongly over my right eye, all over my face, and on my left hip for some reason. In my mind I kept saying Expelliarmus over and over again to keep the gooey-virus outside of my my physical body, while it continued to ooze out.

Finally I used my hands to brush the oozing-electic-goo of my face and out over my head. I used my intent to make it go out into a cosmic dumpster where it would be burned and cleansed. Then I proceeded to brush it off my arms, my torso and my legs and dumped it in a little bin that I imagined next to my bed. All the while with my eyes closed. And I just kept scooping and scooping till my energy body felt cool and fresh again, then I fell asleep. My eyes were still red because conjunctivities doesn't disappear so quickly, but when I woke up this morning my throat was clear, and my eye is now pink. It's also NOT swollen, which was a great advance considering that only yesterday I went to the ER lol.

Thinking back on the experience, it was the combination of the knowledge about how the energy body works, the intent to expell the virus, and the practice with hands on healing that allowed me to to this.  The experience was amazing, and even though the Harry Potter phrase is a bit of a goof, my subconscious and my body understood the language and it did expell the virus. I now have new found respect for spell casting lol, I guess its a great way to personify your intent. That's why I went and bought the book on english magic, there's no point reinventig the wheel when so many people have gone before us. Will keep you updated, the book looks really cool and I hope to apply some of the ideas soon!
