Soul-Healing with Archangel Raziel

Archangel Raziel is one of the angels that I connect with most often. He resonates with the planet Uranus - insight, illumination and cosmic connection - and as an Aquarius, I love that vibe. Like most of the archangels, his name comes from Hebrew. We can get a sense of what angels represent from the letters in their name: Resh (R), Zayin (Z) and Yud (i) with El referencing the role that angels play as messengers of Light.

Hebrew letters have a number, a meaning, and an energy signature. They are also said to be conduits of energy and according to the Sefer Yetzirah, visualizing the letters as black fire against brilliant white light activates them in the physical world*. The Hebrew letter Resh brings Peace*, Zayin is a blade that cuts through illusions of fear or confusion, and the Yud represents the spark of divine light that resides in all of us.

Archangel Raziel guides us in soul-healing and symbolism, especially where past lives, family lines and unconscious attitudes are concerned. Natal Astrology paints a wonderful roadmap. If we call on him before studying our charts, Archangel Raziel can help us spot unconscious patterns, conflicts and also talents that we can tap into. As discussed on the Astrology Tab - we find our hidden treasures by working through our shadow and our natal charts. Raziel pulls back the veil in a safe and loving environment, while filling us with peace.

Let's Meet Archangel Raziel

As the archangel of mystics and cosmic information, Archangel Raziel's range of themes is pretty wide. As always, call on Archangel Michael or Zadkiel first, to clear and shield your meditation space, and then ask Raziel to join you. Intuition basics are in my book, Chakra Healing & Magick 🔮

In a few weeks, I’ll stream a meditation with Archangel Raziel on Facebook. In the meantime, start with the meditation below to awaken your psychic abilities. Call on Archangel Raziel. The script is in Chakra Healing & Magick. It was designed to help you identify your gifts, and plant seeds for new psychic abilities to develop.

Update: The meditation with Archangel Raziel:

Is there a Goddess of Music?

Psychic meditations are similar to dream analysis; we receive messages as images, sounds, scents and then interpret it when we are done. Sometimes the message comes to life completely in one session, but often it builds with time. In school, when we were doing psychic readings for another person we'd ask for their visuals and discuss it with them at the end 💝

This Fall I signed up for an online class at my former school. One of my classmates now teaches there, Liesl Duffy. It has been so much fun to be back in the student seat. We have been connecting with different archangels and guides every week.

The weekly theme is always a surprise. Last month, I finally understood the music that I’d hearing in my personal meditations for nearly two years. Liesl told us that we would be connecting with a goddess and the meditation consisted of a journey to a temple where we would meet her. We would find out who she was once we arrived, not before.

Everything that I describe below came to me during the intuitive meditation, without any music playing and little description.

From the outset I heard songs running through my mind. It felt (more than sounded) like a feminine voice ringing out from the jungle on our way into the temple. I am from Mexico and love the Pacific coast, hence the jungle. The clairaudient meditations that I have had the past few years have been similar - a powerful female voice echoing my words - but she has what feels like limitless reach. I will often get clips of music videos that I like too.

As we continued through the meditation, we were guided to approach a temple. The teacher who facilitates the class doesn't give many details and this leaves space for our intuition to fill in the blanks. I kept hearing music, often Shakira's DARE or Katy Perry's ROAR. Every now and then I heard snippets of Rihanna's "What's my name" with a variation on the lyrics, so that it went: INANNA, WHAT'S MY NAME. Then back to Roar.

I also got the impression that we could only enter if we danced our way in. All along the path there were people dancing - almost like they were listening to a cosmic concert. I am not much a dancer (but I do love music) so I was relieved to be the only witness to this meditation lol.

When we finally made it into the temple, Liesl told us that we were there to connect with an ancient goddess known as Inanna. I had connected with her intuitively in the past, usually a passing thought, but hadn't made a link between her and the music. Inanna was a fierce Sumerian goddess, looking after love, beauty, war, justice and political power.

In the past, when I have asked why this goddess is relevant for me, the word ASTARTE came to mind; the name used for Inanna in the part of the world from which the Lebanese side of my family hails. Not entirely sure what it means, and Inanna rings a bell more than Astarte does, but the musical vibration feels amazing. In previous posts I have written about manifesting with music, I believe this goddess amplifies the effect. We can connect with that beautiful energy.

As far as history is concerned, there was a religious following of Inanna thousands of years ago. It is likely the beliefs and practices were reflective of Sumerian culture at the time. I don't know much about it as the intuitive meditations are experiential in nature, focused on healing and personal development. The meditation was freeing, full of life and reflective of Katy Perry's Roar or Shakira's Dare. Just what I needed lol.

When class was wrapping up the teacher mentioned Rihanna's What's My Name (Inanna) and talked about that feminine energy expressing itself through music, with confidence. This kind of synchronicity is common in meditations as we are all tuned into the same current of energy.

The Astrology of Mars: Be Your Best Self

Today I would like to talk about meditating to connect with the planets in our solar system. It is similar to connecting with Mother Earth; each of the planets relates to a quality that we can heal and integrate. Venus relates to frienship, love and beauty; Mercury to how we think and communicate ourselves. Mars helps us deal with issues of competition, strength and confidence.

In his book The Healing Touch, William Rand says that fear of competition creates more problems for the Reiki world than competition itself. Even if we think of ourselves as lightworkers, in the real world, we can act out of defensiveness or insecurity when someone moves into our sphere of influence. True for Reiki, also true for the yoga/wellness/healing worlds. If we don't acknowledge that dynamic, it creates a good deal of discomfort in our lives.

The past six years I've been teaching and practicing healing in Mexico City. While the experience has been amazing, to say the least, there have been moments where feathers were ruffled. I tend to shy away from conflict, especially when it comes to standing my ground. After a few years, I thought I had cleared most of my foibles and insecurities. Some of it lingered; I've been thinking about times when I made myself smaller to avoid rocking the boat...

One day, I felt guided to do a meditation with the planet Mars, wanting to fill myself with courage, confidence and integrating the healthy aspects of the red planet; this means taking a close look at the unhealthy Martian aspects that play out in our personal lives. As always I began by grounding myself and bringing down a ray of starlight from above, before sending a beam of light from my Heart Chakra to Mars (visible in the night sky!). I asked healing and strength in instances where I was not as direct or  assertive as I would have liked to be. Healing past, present & future me.

I was then prompted to make a list of anyone I might view as a competitor - whether it was another teacher, energy healer, author or practitioners of other healing modalities. What came to mind next was an interview where a campaigning politician was asked to name one good thing their opponent had done while in office; she replied saying "not a one".

Truth be told, I was disappointed by that answer. While she was probably avoiding a self-defeating soundbite, we have to be capable of witnessing other people's strengths and triumphs.

In the healing, I went back to the list of so-called competitors and wrote at least one thing they did extremely well: Some are fab at Instagram videos, others captivate the room with their sense of humor, still others simplify complex topics making them easily digestible. I realised we each triumph in our unique way; what I wound up seeing clairvoyantly was a diamond that was full of light, with each of us on a different facet. The meditative exercise ended with me making a list of three things that I did well and how I fit into the whole.

This resonates with my experience so far: the world is fun and enriching when we play to each other's strengths

The energy healing was fantastic and I felt like a different person. Since then I've been connecting with Mars and with Archangel Tystiel. He is one of the archangels that relates to Mars, helping us find our footing, our courage and our gamesmanship. Archangel Chamuel is also linked with Mars - as the angel of unconditional love, Chamuel brings relief to situations where we feel like we have been in an uphill battle for months. It’s an important planet for us to integrate. Pluto is also one that I would look at, in terms of shadow healing.

Sekhmet: The Lioness of Ancient Egypt

The past few weeks I have had emails from friends who were surprised during psychic meditations - basically, they felt an energy come through and after Googling it, discovered that what they felt was one of the deities from Ancient Egypt. I had a similar experience about a year ago. Before then my interest in ancient myths had focused on the Greek side, thanks to my first tarot deck

In my case, I felt a rush of water through my energy field during a Reiki meditation, like I was being hosed down. When I asked 'what is this?', the impressions that came to mind were 'river god-dess' and 'happy' - followed up immediately by a mental picture of a character on the TV show Scorpion whose name is Happy. I assumed it might be a river goddess of Japanese origin, because Reiki comes from Japan. As soon as I was done with the intuitive meditation I googled the terms "Asian river goddesses" and came up empty handed - no female river deities and none called Happy. I thought it must have been my imagination that got in the way.

A few days later I went back to Google, searching for "Happy" and "River God" without mentioning Japan and leaving out the feminine aspect. What came up was a lesser-known Egyptian river god known as Hapi. I was flabbergasted. He looked after the flooding of the Nile, which in turn assured enough water for crops to grow, but not so much that it would drown them out.

But more than that, Hapi looked after a specific part of the Nile, near a town called Philae. This floored me because fifteen years ago, before I was into energy healing or psychic meditations, I actually went to Philae and immediately thought "I lived here in another life" - I didn't want to leave. Alas, I was there on a cruise and dragged myself away after 45 minutes. The archeological site was dedicated to Isis and Osiris with no mention of the river god Hapi.

Since then I have been reading up on Ancient Egypt and discovered a sun goddess who looked after healing, plagues, medicine and destruction (the kind that removes obstacles). The warrior goddess Sekhmet is often depicted with a lion's head on a female body. Her energy is necessary now with everything that is going on in the world. I thought it would be nice if we went outside, grounded ourselves and felt a ray of light flow from the Sun to our Heart Chakras, intending for it to clear away all fear and doubt. Let that fiery sunlight radiate through your body and Aura.

The clairvoyant meditations that I have shared in the past can be used to connect with angels and guides. We can also set the intention to connect with higher vibrational beings such as bodhisatvas and goddesses, though in my experience, they choose us and not the other way around. In either case, I hope you enjoy connecting with Hapi and Sekhmet.

Begin by grounding yourself and shielding your meditation space, this brings about clarity. Grounding also gives us the foundations to reach for the stars, figuratively speaking. You’ll find the steps in my book Chakra Healing & Magick.

We could all use some energy healing, and Sekhmet's connection with courage and the sun's warrior energy.

Freedom from Hopes & Fears

The past month I have given myself lots of energy healing, focusing on patterns that I want to release before moving onto post-pandemic life (eventually). One of the things that comes up a lot in energy healing sessions is releasing fears and anxieties, as they box us in. For example, fear of failure or rejection might keep us from taking the initiative in our daily lives.

What I hadn't thought of, was that releasing Hope is as important as releasing Fear. Hope is a wonderful, abstract quality to have, but hoping something specific will happen can be as sticky as wishing that one of our fears will not come true. Hopes and fears also get in the way of our Intuition, making it harder for us to receive clear guidance from above.

When it comes to different types of intuitive readings, our hopes and fears are most likely to hijack tarot readings. Our initial response to the cards is easily influenced by our state of mind. Whether we use tarot to predict the future, or better yet, to heal ourselves by shining a light on the unconscious; I find it helpful to clear my Aura before each session. You can do this by grounding yourself and visualizing a stream of violet light running through your Aura, into the ground. This releases confusing thoughts and emotions before we access our intuition  💗

Letting go of hope may sound depressing, but releasing attachments opens us up to receive more than we asked for - an essential step in learning to trust the flow of life. This happened organically when I began to focus energy healing sessions on releasing fear, the source of our attachment to specific outcomes. Not quite there yet but I'm working on it.

Share your thoughts below! And if you'd like to know more about energy healing, intuition, and tarot as a doorway to your inner guide and healer, read Chakra Healing & Magick HERE

Releasing Self-Criticism with Archangel Gabriel

A few weeks ago I had an intuitive reading from a fellow healer who told me that I had to work on forgiveness. I have been receiving that same message in my daily meditations, but I can't say that I am mad at anyone or anything so I had no idea what that meant.

So I asked my friend for clarification and her answer was that I had to forgive myself, be less critical of myself. I laughed nervously, and as my angel reading tutor used to say, if we give an angel message and the person has a bout of nervous laughter, well done!

The message was spot on but I had never thought of forgiveness that way. I do have a tendency to be critical of myself, focusing on what I could have done better in any situation. It's not fun to be around!

Natal Astrology could make it easy for me to blame that tendency on the three big planets that I have in the perfectionist sign of Virgo. But from a self-healing point of view, the idea is to spot character traits that become defects when exaggerated, and to soften those traits.

Virgo Aside: My initial reaction was to think that I should have been thorough and asked for clarification in my daily meditation.

So how do I go about forgiving myself??? My favorite tools are Energy Healing and angel meditations. I usually ask Archangel Michael to send the archangel or guide who can help me heal and release the issue that I am working on, as discussed in both of my energy healing books.

I was surprised to see that Archangel Gabriel turned up. In my mind he was the archangel of pregnancies, intuition and communication, but then I remembered a lecture that I attended at the Kabbalah Centre years ago. The speaker referred to Archangel Gabriel as the angel of judgement, how he is identified in Judaism. Since then I have discovered that Gabriel can help us clear and release judgements that have been unfairly placed on us - in this instance, judging myself.

The past month I have been connecting with Archangel Gabriel to release that critical tendency and honestly, I feel so much better! Coincidentally, Gabriel is also the Angel of Water, which includes the compassionate sign of Pisces. When we talk about healing with astrology, this all-forgiving Water sign sits opposite Virgo on the Zodiac wheel. Water can be used to integrate and heal both polarities so that neither is exaggerated; we need discernment and compassion. Coincidentally, the spheres on the Tree of Life that relate to judgment and compassion are on the same level; it's where we need to clock in to release judgments, or to access intuition.

Here is a meditation to connect with Archangel Gabriel (link). We are in the month of Virgo until the 23rd of September; he can help us balance the Virgo/Pisces polarity so that we can be loving, forgiving and non-judgemental, accepting perfectionists. This leaves room for healing and personal growth. In Spiritual Astrology, Jan Spiller identifies non-judgemental perfectionism as the remedy for the three planets that were in Virgo when I was born, especially the taskmaster Saturn.

Healing with Astrology

If you are new to astrology, the natal chart takes a snapshot of the sky at the moment of our birth and tells us how that energy influences our feelings, beliefs and attitudes.

The Sun Sign depends on the month of birth but the rest of the planets can be in different signs. So you could be born in April, for example, and not feel like an Aries personality - this is one of the reasons why horoscopes can be hit or miss. My Aquarius Sun is more or less outweighed by the three planets that were in Virgo when I was born. You could say that I am an Aquarius with a strong slant in the Virgo healing/perfectionist direction.

Stay tuned for more on astrology! In the meantime, the foundation steps of energy healing and intuition are in my book, Chakra Healing & Magick
