Tonight I had a chance to give readings at my psychic school’s Open Night. The event looks like a ton of fun: lots of lectures, taster readings, intuitive healings, etc. I didn't experience much of it, as I was incredibly late and ended up missing most of the lectures that I wanted to hear. What a shame! Got there just in time for the readings. I was looking forward to it but also a little bit nervous about giving readings on the spot. Have to admit I cheated by pulling three angel cards before I left home. One for each of the three strangers I was going to read for. The cards were incredibly accurate. I'm going to keep this up my sleeve for the future. =)
The readings went well though I could get to the point faster. I waffled a little bit with one of the messages, and the lady stopped me with a question before I got to the card. Funny thing is it answered her question and confirmed her intuitive hunch. Love it when that happens! We were also supposed to channel messages from specific Archangels. The angel that shows up can clue you into what the person needs. Healing with Raphael. Direction with Uriel. Courage and strength with Michael. It points you in the right direction. All in all, the evening was nice though short, thanks to my late arrival. Next time I'll have to go early enough to mingle, as I missed a few friends that I wanted to catch up with.
So good news, I'm nearly done with my 1st book!!!! It is an energy healing guide for families that are dealing with cancer. Initially my thoughts were to write a lengthy post on the benefits of adding Energy Healing to medical care. Healing can help on so many levels: maintain personal energy, clear and heal mental and emotional blocks, stress relief, etc. It can also help the whole family by providing a healthy emotional outlet. All of this would be really useful, though it doesn't tell the whole story. I had also been thinking about why people get sick in the 1st place: physically, emotionally, mentally and spiritually.
That took me down a different route. I have landed on a curious mix of science, intuition, healing and cultural beliefs. Beliefs are important as the placebo effect can be a very strong factor when it comes to medication. I'm still refining and rewriting the content to make sure it's clear. Over the next few weeks I'd like to post a few excerpts that still need more work. It would be incredibly helpful to get feedback on what makes sense, what doesn't, etc. Look forward to any thoughts, comments or suggestions you may have =)
One of my friends was going to buy a dog and I suggested she adopt instead. The thought of paying for a pet just seems wrong. You wouldn't buy a friend or a relative, would you? Pets are just as much a part of our inner circle. We were chatting about this over lunch on Sunday and went to the local shelter that very afternoon. We barely made it, they let us in to "meet" the dogs about 15 minutes before the place closed down. The Battersea Dogs and Cats Home is in a huge building; it reminded me of a doggie zoo. Each of the dogs has it's own pen and you can see them through the bars as you walk by (though no touching please!). The pens have signs reading: Don't stare at me. Don't tease me. Awwww.
I'm not going to lie; it was a depressing to see so many lovely dogs in cages. Even so I'm sure the dogs are better off now than they were before the home took them in. What I really liked about the place is the fact that people can volunteer to socialise with the animals. They also have a foster home scheme for dogs that find the kennel environment stressful. Not sure what this has to do with healing, but I figure some of those dogs could use a little energy healing too! Anyhooo, I thought I'd post this in case someone was thinking of getting a dog or a cat. Adopt, don't buy. What an amazing Christmas present!

This week I've been exploring creative ways to heal myself with Reiki. Today I put a new idea into practice: sending automatic Reiki to events in the future. Reiki can be sent across time and space if we focus our intent on the target carefully. Once you've been attuned to the Distant Reiki symbol, you can use it to connect to specific events and send Reiki there automatically. This can help us through awkward situations.
Let's illustrate the point with an example: karaoke makes me feel anxious. Remember that scene from My Best Friend's Wedding, where Cameron Diaz's character cries her way through a song? That's what I'm talking about. If karaoke were a recurring event in my life, I would love to have Reiki there to help me through it. Who knows, I might grow to like it someday. We can send Reiki to situations where we need support.
The process is simple, though you will need a Reiki II attunement before carrying it out.These are the steps that I learned in Reiki II:
Sit in a clean, quiet space and formulate your intent. Where am I sending Reiki? To what event or activity in the future?
Specify how long will this automatic Reiki be "on-call"
If the recipient's Higher Self chooses to refuse the healing, that energy will go back to the Universe until it is needed again.
Visualise the Distant Reiki symbol and repeat the mantra three times to activate the healing. Hold this for 5-10 minutes and then use that same Reiki symbol to close the Reiki bridge.
Thank the Universe for the healing and cleanse your energy.
Today I set up two Automatic Reiki Healings. The first was for myself; it will be active for one month. Whenever I come into contact with water, Reiki will be there. This includes drinking water, showering, washing my face and walking in the rain. It will come in handy during the winter months in London, particularly because it rains almost everyday now. How lovely! I can take a nice walk in a Reiki Shower next time it rains. With my umbrella, of course, as I don't want to get wet! This automatic healing will also support the cleansing period that I am following after my Reiki II attunement last week. It's a nice idea and I'm enjoying it already!
The 2nd Reiki Healing is a gift to my readers. My intent was to make Reiki available whenever someone reads this Diary of a Psychic Healer blog. I haven't put a time limit on it, as a matter of fact it will be active indefinitely. On all posts, regardless of when they were written. My intent was to let Reiki flow if someone reads the blog online, or in print format at some point in the future. Free Will is important and I don't wish to impose; if their Higher Self declines the healing the Reiki simply goes back to the universe. There is an unending supply of Reiki in the universe and it will never run out. I like that idea of Reiki always being there for us. Same as angels always being there to support us. It reminds me of this song, I'll Be There by Mariah Carey:

Last night I came home to a nice surprise! Three Angel Readings booked online! I am not charging much, and when I have asked my Guides if I should raise the price they say no. My readings are short, sweet and to the point. At the moment I am keen to practice email readings and I'm grateful for every opportunity. In a couple months I may start with 10-15 minute Skype readings.
It is a great way to push myself past the stage fright. I used to block the messages because I got nervous, but now they come quickly. One of the greatest challenges is actually translating the Angel Reading from pictograms to words. Tuning in at a distance is quite the experience too. The novelty should have worn off by now, but I'm still pleasantly surprised that email readings can be so accurate. The angel takes the credit on that one, they are not bound by time or space. LOL.
Today I tried a new technique to set up the reading. I used one of the Reiki Symbols to build a bridge to the client. This symbol is used to send Distant Reiki. This symbol reminds me of Hiro Nakamura from the tv show Heroes. Hiro was the Master of Time and Space. This Reiki Symbol bends time and space, building a bridge through the Unified Energy Field that sustains us all. We use it at the start of a Distant Reiki session to establish the connection, and again at the end to close it.
If we can use that bridge to send and receive Reiki, we can also use it to read the client's energy field during a psychic reading. It was a nice experiment! I've had good feedback on the 1st reading, and I'm curious to see what comes up in the second one. If this works I may use it in most of my Angel Readings =)
A few weeks ago one of my classmates was gifted a healing wand by one of her Spirit Guides. A metaphysical wand, not an actual crystal wand. He gave it to her in a clairvoyant meditation and said she could use it to heal herself or others. This week she told us about how it's worked for her. I'm trying to remember what I've received from my guides. One time I got a cauldron. Another time a frying pan. I think the message was to cook. LOL. I haven't thought about it since (tsk, tsk, tsk).
Today I was feeling a bit cheeky and asked my guides if I could have a healing wand. When I asked I was sitting in a circle, waiting for my Reiki Teacher to initiate me as a Reiki II Practitioner. I don't need a healing wand, but I'd like a wand. My spirit guide echoed that thought. Instead, he gave me what I like to call a Harry Potter wand, one that I can use to manifest things in the physical world. How exciting! He also said I can use this now to attract clients to my Reiki Practice, readers for my soon-to-be-published book, etc.
I accepted it gratefully.
Tonight I had my first chance to give the wand a go. When I came home from my full day Reiki Workshop I was knackered. My shower wouldn't heat up, not good news, and it turns out my boiler went out. The pilot light goes out when it's windy and I have never been able to switch it back on. My landlord usually has to send someone, and it takes them 10-15 minutes once they are here. It is Sunday night and my chances of getting a repairman in now were slim. So I fiddled around with it for a few minutes, and decided to ask for help. I put my left hand on the boiler, called on Archangel Raziel to breath fire into it, and then channeled Reiki at the boiler. I think Doreen Virtue wrote about a time when she healed her car's engine with her bare hands, and got it to start again. I figure I could do the same for the boiler. The pilot light started flashing and the flame came on! In under one minute! How Amazing!!! That's when I remembered the magic wand, not before. I'm not entirely sure why I called on Raziel. His name popped into my mind when I put my hand on the boiler. Raziel is said to hold the secrets of the universe, and that has to include my elusive boiler.
This reminded me of a card that keeps coming up lately, the Queen of Earth from Doreen Virtue's Angel Tarot. On the card we see a woman using a magic want to manifest a pot of gold and magic around her. While the Queen of earth is about material comfort, that comfort is meant to be a basis that makes it easier for us to enjoy our life, including time with others. Today's magic wand brings me back to the visual and being able to manifest that pot of gold. For myself and for others, as everything we share comes back to us tenfold.
This is where I am right now, an exciting place to be! Reiki is referred to as healing fire, and along the same lines, we can make the most of the elements.
