Integrating With Your Higher Self (Astrology & Healing)

I've been on a blogging sabbatical for about six months but it's time to start again. Today I sat in the park and meditated for a while - the images that came through were awesome and I want to share. A few years ago I wrote about the transpersonal chakras, basically a system with 12 or 13 energy centers. We have the seven chakras that most healers and yoguis are familiar with, an additional four that can be found in the Aura, and one near your heart. These chakras are about our connection with soul, spirit and the universe.

Anyhooo, I haven't found any books about these chakras and whenever I sit down to meditate, I tend to get glimpses of how they work. The idea is that our seven main chakras have to do with the physical body and our personalities, starting with the root chakra at the bottom of the spine and going all the way up to the Crown. The first transpersonal chakra is the Earth Star; it gives us deeper grounding so we can connect with spirit.

FYI - This is an advanced energy healing post; read my books for an introduction 💛

You'll find a lengthy description here, but the Earth Star Chakra makes it possible for us to connect with Nature including crystals, trees, plants and flowers. It is found 6-12 inches beneath your feet in the Aura. In school we learned to activate this energy center, as well as the Higher Heart before reaching for the stars with the chakras that are over the head. It's a good idea to work with the main seven for a few years before activating the ones over the head. The techniques in my chakra book lay the groundwork; I also have guided meditations on Instagram and Youtube for you to follow.

Today I meditated on the Earth Star Chakra and on these transpersonal chakras:

  • Stellar Gateway. I get the sense of this being the pathway for your Higher Self; how its energy flows down into your soul and then to your physical body. In other meditations this where I've felt my Higher Self's astrological chart. It's based on a Zodiac that relates to the Moon's Nodes and your path to happiness in this life. Known as the Draconic Chart, you'll see an extra layer of spiritual energy that is available in your daily life - essentially wings that you can spread to gain more light, power and ease. I also get a sense of the divine feminine/masculine reflected here, possibly shining down from above.
  • Soular (Soul Star) Chakra: This is where we find the energy of ancestors, past lives and where the energy of your birth chart is found. This energy flows from the Soul Star Chakra through the four main layers in the Aura, influencing our thoughts, feelings, emotions and how we interact with others. I like to focus my self healing sessions on my astrology chart - it's a wonderful map to work with.

As usual, I went through the basics of grounding myself in mother nature, bringing white light down from above and then activating and shielding my Aura (read Chapter 5 of Chakra Healing & Magick). I spent a lot of time on my manifesting chakras: Root, Sacral & Solar Plexus before turning my attention to the Heart Chakra.

Then came the good stuff: intuitivelyI saw my Stellar Gateway switch on, a brilliant white light. My intuition said to connect my Stellar Gateway and Soular Chakras. I saw this as a beam of silver light between them. This brought their energies together, including two layers of astrology.

If you've seen a natal chart, it maps out where the planets were when we were born. This influences your personality, strengths, weaknesses and it creates a lot of blind spots as well. I tend to focus astrology sessions on energy healing and empowerment - essentially how to become more well rounded. For example, I don't have much Fire in my natal chart but there is a ton of fire in my Higher Self's astrology chart.

You'll find my natal chart below
Don't worry if you're not familiar with an astrology chart. The outermost circle is where you'll find the symbols for the 12 Zodiac signs (in red, green, blue and yellow). The blue icons on the inner circle are the planets at my time of birth, my natal chart.

The red icons on the middle wheel represent the energy that my Higher Self has to support me in this life (Draconic Chart). My intuition says that by activating the Stellar Gateway and bringing it into alignment with the Soular Chakra, we can get both of these energies to work together.

Think of this as a relationship chart with your whole self. As you'll see, the middle circle has the Moon in Leo as well as Saturn, Mars and Jupiter in Aries (this is my Draconic or Higher Self chart). Today, I got a sense of all that fiery energy flowing through my Aura into my consciousness, filling me with fire and confidence.

Because of the way the Draconic Chart is mapped, the part of your chart with Aries in it is where your Higher Self wants to have an impact. Where it makes an entrance 🔥

>> Read my books for an intro to energy healing and intuition. Please note, they lay the foundations but my books do NOT include the transpersonal chakras 🤍

>> August 28 2025 Update: My progressed Sun was conjunct my Draconic Jupiter on April 11 2023. I had big spiritual aha moments two months prior (this one) and two months later (see here). The day of, I posted a photo about your Soul GPS on Instagram, and though I didn’t love the picture, I’ve never deleted it. I have noticed that when my progressed Sun approaches the planets in my Draconic chart, I experience inner and outer shifts related to those natal planets.

How to Be Your Full Self

Welcome! My name is Regina. I’m an energy healer and intuition blogger. Both of these have helped me tremendously.

The point of energy healing is to lovingly release our fears and insecurities so that we can be our bold, beautiful selves in daily life - without so many hiccups! Our intuition guides the way, telling us what needs to be healed, released and transformed ✨✨

I’ve been blogging about this for twelve years now! If you're new to Diary of a Psychic Healer, please start with the posts from my student days. I am also available for online sessions, or better yet, read my books and learn to heal yourself. Energy healing is a skill that we can all develop.

Check out the Menu Bar for closer look at astrology, crystals, manifesting and emotional support. See you on the links below; I have a series of energy healing meditations waiting for you on Insta 😉

If you're really into spirituality, have a look at my blog on your computer and search for the topic of your choice. More than 550 posts on angels, chakras, astrology, intuition, past lives, healing & more!

Reiki hugs,

Regina

Finding our Way to Inner Peace

I took a Reiki class on Monday - taught by William Rand of the International Center for Reiki Training. His school offers energy upgrades for Reiki Masters and this one was focused on World Peace. It was awesome, I honestly feel less anxiety floating around my subconscious.

The class was meant to help us cope with what seems like never ending stress and escalating conflict, with the world coming out of the pandemic, into a war.

At the time I had all of these intuitions about the absence of peace and where it comes from. I want to share my thoughts, as best I can, because a lot of it has slipped away.

Thoughts on The Absence of Peace:

  • Biological Stress and Anxiety: In some cases stress or turmoil might be due to chemical imbalances in the brain. This is not my area of work, but a person would benefit from seeing a mental health professional. One of my friends works with genetics and mental health conditions. She works with people who are affected by their DNA and not just their circumstances. Coincidentally, lifestyle factors do influence our mRna, as discussed in my first book, A Personal Guide to Self-Healing, Cancer & Love (2013).
  • Stressful Situations: There is the chaos and alarming news of the past few years, which added to our usual stress levels. The brain is wired to keep an eye out for threats and emergencies, no doubt a remnant of our survival and wilderness days - which are only a few centuries behind us. The amygdala is triggered when we are stressed; the body goes into fight, flight or freeze mode. In time, we may find ourselves in a state of constant stress. This lowers our immune system, as physical energy is redirected to crisis management.
  • We all have individual joys, concerns and responsibilities (life!). This may be what we think about on a day-to-day basis, but the collective adds weight to our shoulders.
  • Health & Financial Worries. The pandemic put both of these under a huge stress-test, even at odds with each other. My blog has international readership; the experience will have varied for those in the USA or Europe vs India or Mexico. When it comes to individual health concerns, it's not just covid - there are so many things to think about. Reiki & meditation have been great stress-relief tools for me and with the World Peace Upgrade, I feel like it goes deeper even though it’s only been a few days.
  • Your mental chatter is a big one too. Stress relief tools & meditation are essential, so long as we include meditations to calm the mind and to process underlying emotions.
  • In terms of healing the rift, I'm a fan of combining conventional health care (or economic measures) with coping mechanisms and a bit of soul healing. As mentioned in my Self-Healing, Cancer & Love book, Reiki is one option but there are lots of things that we can do to bring a sense of peace into our lives. Here is an intro to meditation from a cancer survivor conference. And obviously, counseling is wonderful too!
  • The macro level is beyond our control - this is where a lot of stress and uncertainty come from. What matters is that we have coping tools, that we focus on what is in front of us, and that we lean on each other!
  • Let's Meditate Together (On Youtube🕊 Energy healing aims to address the points listed below.

  • War and Violence: This one is the toughest to address. As reiki practitioners, we learn to use the distance reiki symbol in the 2nd level. This is used to send Reiki to the root cause of a problem, or to send Reiki across time and space (sounds like science fiction!) When there is a natural disaster or a crisis, we send Reiki with then intention to alleviate suffering. Ideally we'd also send Reiki to people causing that pain, so that they stop acting out and hurting others. It’s always the damaged parts of human nature that create havoc. We send healing to underlying the causes and to any collective patterns or narratives.

Conflict has been around forever, but the ego/saboteur in all of us has to become exhausted and redirected in a functional direction. It feels hopeless when the conflict is at a distance, but I believe that we do have a bigger chance of healing our corners of the world because we are part of them.

  • It’s important to look at our own damaged parts - William Rand calls it the unhealed parts of our ego. What part of me feels anger, envy, jealousy or hurt? Are there voids that I try to fill with approval, status or competitive behavior? We can also send Reiki to people around us who cause pain, and to their dysfunctional patterns.
  • There is an element of Free Will when it comes to Distant Reiki. In healing school, we were taught to ask our intuition for permission before sending healing to someone else. We can also set the intention for it to flow to someone who needs it, if by chance, the intended recipient rejects it on a Soul or Higher Self level.
  • Grief & Emotional Pain: This one is tough too. How do we process feelings like grief, anger, anguish or even hatred and revenge? (We do live in that world). In 2019 I wrote a post called The Mechanics of Forgivenessan essential step on the road to peace, but curiously, not the most important one. Reiki is wonderful and I swear by it, but we need strong emotional skills from an early age. We may need counseling as well as a deep cultural shift. To quote my book, A Personal Guide to Self-Healing, Cancer & Love:

“We need to learn to work with our emotions on a daily basis so that our lives are empowered by our changing mood states and not held hostage by them” Regina Chouza

Please join me in sending healing to the world. Yourself and myself included! 🤍

Reiki hugs,

Regina

The Liberating Power of the Female Buddha (Book Review)

Last year I found a book called TARA: the Liberating Power of the Female Buddha, by Dr Rachael Wooten. The author is a depth psychologist and Tara devotee. It had been on my desk for months. Whenever I'd walk by I'd think to myself, I need to sit down and meditate. Green Tara has such a cool vibe but her energy felt distant somehow. I finally started reading it again this week after meeting up with a friend; it turns out she'd been connecting with Tara too 😅

Tara is a powerful female Buddha - known as Wisdom Moon in her early incarnations. Wisdom Moon is said to have taken on the challenge of becoming enlightened. At the time, the common belief was that only men could become enlightened (haha). What it means to be enlightened is a separate topic, but if it includes clarity, compassion and having a bigger picture view of life - there is no reason why men and women couldn't both become enlightened.

The name Tara translates as Star. The idea is that the goddess Tara connects you with that infinite light that lights up your life. Her energy is very specific. Tara appears as one of 22 colors or manifestations - almost like a prism. Each color vibration has a specific effect on our hearts and minds. This is where Tara's energy flows easily with energy healing or depth psychology. We can connect with the color vibration that resonates with the part of the psyche that we want to heal and integrate. For example; White Tara is calming and soothing, Green Tara embodies compassion, Orange Tara releases spiritual & emotional poverty. Black Tara is fiercely protective.

Her purpose is to free us from fear and insecurity and ultimately, to free us from the cycle of rebirth known as samsara. Green Tara is best known; she fills us with healing and compassion, similar to Quan Yin in other traditions. The Green Tara mantra invokes all of these protections: Om Tare Tuttare Ture Soha. Then each color vibration is associated with a specific intention, mantra and healing power.

As a Healer, I've found it helpful to connect with Tara and then to visualize whatever color vibration I need at that time. I have tried connecting with Tara by following the energy healing steps in Chapter 5 of Chakra Healing & Magick; just setting the intention to connect with Tara after attuning to divine light. Funny enough, I included a bright shining star in many of the book's energy healing visualizations. Bringing Tara in consciously was an easy next step.

There are also traditional (beautiful) ways to connect with all aspects of Tara. Dr Wooten goes through a full Tara practice in the book including mantras and many visualizations. It's amazing how the energy shifts after a few dozen repetitions of the basic Green Tara mantra. What I love is that it's always the same energy that we're connecting with - a bright shining star. It's just the vibration that changes with our spiritual, emotional and psychological needs.

Reiki hugs,

Regina

My New Healing Space!

So excited because I am finally going back into a proper healing space this week! A friend recommended a co-working that is well suited for therapy and coaching sessions. My lease starts on Tuesday.

I have an office with a desk for Zoom sessions, and for those of you in Mexico City, a Reiki couch and cozy therapy rooms for angel, astrology and interactive tarot! I may also do crystal healing once I've settled in and seen how the space works.

The office is perfect because the same building has plenty of spaces to accommodate classes, healing sessions (I wasn't expecting that), and areas where I can interact with others. It will give me the mental space to focus on my work when I'm there, and to disconnect when I'm away.

I’m also putting the finishing touches on my new Intuitive Astrology class before launching it this Spring. Eight weeks where we learn to read astrology charts, healing ourselves by the light of the stars!

My main focus is going to be on making friends though and building a community, as I've been out of the loop for a while. I've also been posting more often on Instagram and I hope to do more livestreams as well. Look me up there and on Facebook for guided meditations.

Reach out if you'd like a Zoom session - I'm based in Mexico City (GMT-6) and we can find a time that suits both of us. Please reach out on social media.

Reiki hugs,
