The Archangels of Balance, Blessings and Infinite Joy

For five years I have hoped that The College of Psychic Studies would offer online classes and finally, they have! Moving to London in 2009 turned out to be one of the greatest adventures of my life, mostly because I stumbled across this fantastic school where we learned to access our intuition through the chakras. This led me down the rabbit hole that I have been blogging about for 10 years 😅

There are dozens of classes at the College but I was feeling nostalgic and I signed up for angel intuition (the class that I used to take), which was amazing as one of my former classmates now teaches at the College! Her name is Liesl Duffy, and for those of you who want to learn from scratch, she is highly recommended. Liesl introduced us to three archangels, some of whom I had heard of, some I hadn't.

  • Archangel Dokiel: This is the one I feel is most necessary now because of the intense stress and upheaval that we are going through on a global level. Dokiel is not an angel that we would typically call on, as he is the angel of balance, order and harmony on a more universal level. When I connected with him in one of our intuitive meditations I got the clear sense that he is a cosmic surgeon who works with matter and light. He helps us create order, harmony and balance for ourselves and our communities. In the meditation I felt like we can team up with Archangel Dokiel in intuitive meditations by visualizing the entire planet in front of us (imagining yourself in a dark room with the Earth in front of you) and visualizing it in gold, blue and green, in perfect harmony. As we have discussed earlier on the blog, we always ground, clear and shield our personal energy before connecting with the Archangels. This keeps us clear of environmental factors, especially anyone else's thoughts or feelings as that can interfere with our intuition. Read my book, Chakra Healing & Magick, to awaken your sixth sense  💕
  • Archangel Gadiel - This beautiful angel's name literally means "God is my Wealth" and he helps us heal emotional and spiritual blocks to wealth. As discussed in Chakra Healing & Magick, the Heart Chakra is the gateway for all of the abundance that we receive from the upper realms and I was really pleased to hear Liesl refer to Archangel Gadiel's definition of abundance as Heart Prosperity. Think of all the qualities that make your cup overflow - they likely go far beyond financial needs to include love, friendship and health. We can work with Archangel Gadiel and with other archangels to release all inner blocks and beliefs that keep us from experiencing that Heart Prosperity. In class Liesl talked about infinite joy and heart prosperity being accessed with Archangel Gadiel's help. When I meditate, I feel that he helps me get a sense of the Unity Chakra, which sits on top of the Auric Field. However we have to ground ourselves and heal on a much deeper level before we access this chakra; But we can connect with Archangel Gadiel at anytime to heal and open the Heart Chakra.
  • Archangel Barachiel is part of the Eastern Orthodox tradition in Christianity. His name refers to blessings. Barachiel helps us move towards a state of gratitude so that we find silver linings if we are going through a tough time, and so that we don't lose sight of our many blessings if we are OK but somehow dissatisfied. His energy feels just wonderful. I have only just begun to connect with Archangel Barachiel

It feels like a huge disconnect to talk about health and prosperity when we are in the middle of a global pandemic, but I believe the archangels are here to help us visualize the type of world and stability that we can create if we humans work together. As I have mentioned before, the angels are not fairy god-mothers in the Disney sense, but we can ask for guidance on how to rise above challenges. They fill us with energy healing, love and confidence so that we can release fear, insecurity and exhaustion - as being human isn't always easy...

A Book on Love

In meditation, the message that keeps coming through is that the world needs a lot of love right now. My friend and fellow teacher Liesl Duffy has just published a book of poems on love, no doubt inspired in part by Archangel Chamuel. Follow the links to Amazon USA and Amazon UK (or Amazon in your country) to read it. Liesl is a wonderful teacher, healer and author.

What is Energy Healing?

This post covers the basics of energy healing and intuition through the Chakras. Scroll down for my book on creative healing, intuition and crystal magick! ❤️ Reiki hugs, Regina

What is Energy Healing?

Energy Healing takes into account the physical, emotional, mental and spiritual aspects of health & wellness. It relies on an intuitive connection with the body as well spiritual energy which is channeled through the Aura and Chakras, whirling through their themes and experiences. This aligns us with a sense of peace and flow in life.

The technique itself is simple, relying on Intention and visualization to activate the flow of energy. Below you will find an intro to the Energy Body and a meditation.

Please Note: Energy Healing is complementary to medical care, not alternative.

The Human Aura

The Aura is the energy field that surrounds our body. You may be able to feel it as heat emanating from the physical body and there are now special cameras that are able to photograph it. Beyond this, we also know that there are layers to the Aura and each of these stores particular experiences and information.

There are at least 12 layers to the Aura, but to keep it simple, let's think of 4 big layers. The Physical layer relates to the material world and how we experience it. The Emotional and Mental Aura layers are were our emotions, thoughts and beliefs are held. And finally, the Spiritual Aura layer relates to the soul, past lives and ancestors.

We can strengthen the Aura, which then makes it easier for us to set healthy boundaries. This has a direct impact on how comfortable we feel with our intuition and in our relationships.

The Aura

The Chakras

I am going to keep this short and sweet as I've written an entire book on the Chakras (read it here). Chakras are energy centres in our auric field that run through our body front to back, extending about 3 feet in either direction when fully activated. In resting mode, the Chakras sit closer to the physical body. The fluidity of our Chakras is influenced by our thoughts, actions, and experiences. Our Chakras also filter the energy that we send out into the world, and the energy that we take in. Each of our Chakras is linked to a different life function and a specific set of organs.

  • The Crown Chakra is our connection to Spirit, God, and intuitive guidance. It extends upwards out of the top of your head. When it opens you may feel a prickly sensation on your scalp.
  • The Brow Chakra is linked to the mind, also our sight, thoughts, and analytical capabilities. It is level with your forehead and sits perpendicular to your spine. Clairvoyance and imagination relate to this Chakra.
  • The Throat Chakra should be easy to locate! It has to do with communication and governs both our listening and speaking skills. A well developed and protected Throat Chakra will also help you hear your angels and guides.
  • The Heart Chakra is our centre of love, both romantic and platonic or familial. A healthy Heart Chakra will enable you to feel loved, supported and cared for in this world. It is also the gateway for abundance, receiving and sharing it.
  • Solar Plexus Chakra: I love this Chakra! It is linked to the ego, but it is also linked our personality. The Solar Plexus holds our personal identity, and that is a wonderful aspect that needs to be celebrated and encouraged. It is our center of power and outwards focus. Too much SP can also be a problem though so don't let it go wild.  =)
  • The Sacral Chakra is linked to our creative drive and passion in the world, as well as our sense of abundance. It is connected to the emotional Aura layer and is the Chakra through which we have energetic and/or emotional exchanges with other people. This is the center of passion and everything that we have an appetite for. Empaths who feel other's pain too easily may put on weight here as a physical form of protection. Where is it? The tummy!
  • The Root Chakra is linked to community, safety, grounding, and feelings of economic and material stability. It is located at the base of the spine and runs down through your legs if you are in standing position.
  • The Earth Star Chakra is likely my favorite. If you are sitting or standing, you'll find it about 10 inches below your feet in the ground. Traditionally seen as brown or black in color, it connects us with Mother Earth and makes it easier for us to feel spiritual energy in plants, rivers, crystals and other natural elements. The higher realms open up to us when we connect with the Earth Star as it gives much needed grounding.

Below is a rough guide of where they are located:

Living from the Heart...

On a subconscious level we each tend to keep our energy in a particular part of the body. People who overthink things spend a lot of time in the Brow Chakra. This won't necessarily lead to the right answer. People who see life clearly are gifted with a well developed and clear Brow Chakra. Things just make sense. For things to make sense, we may need to adopt an impartial frame of mind. And hopefully one in which we are also attuned to that higher guidance from our guides, angels, and Higher Self. Most of the books and classes I've taken point to the Heart Chakra as the "right" place to be centered. Our Heart Chakra is directly linked to our Crown Chakra which gives us that access, but also our Root Chakra which keeps us connected to earthly matters.

To center from the Heart, visualize pink or green light in your Heart Chakra and send a ray of light down to the center of the Earth. See and feel it connecting with a Rose Quartz and let that crystal’s energy flow up to meet you. Wrap yourself in that loving energy - bringing your Aura close around your body. Send any excess feelings or emotions into the ground.

The Indian & Tibetan River of Buddhism (Class Review)

I’m enrolled in an online class at Columbia University called The Indian & Tibetan River of Buddhism. Signed up when quarantine began and I am glad I did. The class is taught by Dr Robert Thurman - one of the founders of Tibet House in NYC. We are only on the second week, but I wanted to share it now as you can still sign up

We’ve covered the history of Buddhism: what society, culture and government were like 2600 years ago and why the Buddha's approach to happiness, compassion and freedom was appealing to so many people, especially freedom from the hierarchy of the caste systems. It also feels like a  lot of the concepts are still relevant today, for example, the study of the nature of reality and how we can find happiness.

The class looks at the concepts of Dharma (as far as I can tell, a search for truth), the Eightfold Path and how these lay the groundwork for enlightenment through meditation. To become enlightened is to have your human mind grow to the point where it is obvious that we are interconnected and that personal gain is an illusion*. When someone else hurts or is in pain, a part of us is too and doesn't know it.

Before we align ourselves with the collective's happiness, as part of a win-win scenario, we have to work on our inner selves and find our own happiness. Your happiness always comes first, and that isn’t necessarily dependent on external factors. It also helps to have an understanding of what it means for everyone to win. This made me think about why it is important to heal ourselves, working through anger, doubt or sadness -  and to express those feelings by journaling or other means, rather than suppressing our emotions.

To quote Professor Thurman:
"Only a self-fulfilled truly happy person can embrace the happiness of others as his or her own heart-felt goal"

The other thing that I loved about Professor Thurman's class is his interpretation of meditation in one of the last steps of the Eightfold Path. When the texts speak of meditation, the translation is not just to meditate / concentrate - but to bring into (your) Being the quality that you are meditating on. This resonates 100% from an Energy Healing and intuition point of view because whenever I have tried to connect with Buddha, I kept getting the message to meditate on Happiness and I didn't know that that meant  😅

Buddhism emphasizes love, compassion and impartiality - though it is not selfish to want to be happy, as I had to remind myself. Please join me in meditating on health and happiness. Start by grounding yourself so that it is easier for you to relax.

* My View of Personal Gain: We do have individual needs and aspirations and it’s unhealthy to deny that. Maybe “having it all” means the personal and the collective are satisfied, but for that to happen, we have to get over the ego’s whims and insecurities.

Along the same lines, the things that we think will make us happy are often just placeholders for deeper emotional needs - read my book to work your way through that: Chakra Healing & Magick 💛

A Crystal Grid to Remove Turbulence

Hi Chickpeas, This week I have a few thoughts to share with you -  firstly, I am enrolled in a fun crystal healing class at Hibiscus Moon and my homework this week was to create a crystal grid - essentially a crystal layout which can be charged with intentions. It amplifies your magick  💝

The concept of programming crystal grids to send healing is right up my alley. In Reiki classes we learn to program crystals for energy balancing - I add them when the client’s energy is so stuck that I’d have to spend a lot more time on each hand position  (Byosen Levels 4-5). We also learned how to program grids for distant healing in the Reiki Master classes.

One of my Reiki teachers set up a grid - actually four - and placed them at the North Pole, South Pole, Jerusalem and Hawaii to cover the four corners of the Earth (that is William Rand). Reiki practitioners all over the world have a picture of it and we use that image to send Reiki to the World Peace Grid, and through it, to the world.

We can use any type of crystal to send healing but as mentioned in Chakra Healing & Magick, my ideal starter kit would include Rose Quartz, Amethyst and Clear Quartz as we can cover all our bases with these three - including self love with the pink, clarity and purpose with clear, and the ability to transmute any difficult vibrations into love with the violet stone (more on that HERE

Below you will find a grid that I set up to transmute household stress during quarantine. It has one of my favorite stones, Black Tourmaline - great for stress relief and transmuting negative energy, and Blue Apatite to dispel confusion. It may or may not be a coincidence, but the stress felt with my quarantine buddies went down substantially after setting up the grid this weekend.

This morning I switched the intention for this grid to send peace and grounding to the whole world. Feel free to take a picture of the grid and visualize it radiating light to you. And if you would like bring energy healing into your own life in a proactive way, please read either of my books to awaken your Inner Healer and connect with your intuition for guidance and support (See HERE).

An Astrology-Inspired Meditation

Beyond that I would also like to share an energy healing meditation with you. A lot of what we are experiencing now can be explained by looking at the planets, especially Pluto and Jupiter in Capricorn - both of which can create quite a bit of upheaval. When Capricorn shakes we tend to feel insecure or scared and in my case, meditating with Black Tourmaline has done a lot to calm my nerves. Please try this guided meditation to transmute the feelings of stress and uncertainty.

Capricorn is an Earth sign, concerned with financial issues and the stability we enjoy in the material world. It also relates to authority and governments, which are all being shaken up at the moment. Pluto pushes us towards transformation and it would be much easier for all of us if necessary changes happen with love and proactivity, and not from a place of reactivity or fear. Pluto transits through Capricorn every 250 years. It has been in Capricorn since 2008 and will leave in 2024. In 2020 the effect was multiplied by Jupiter's 12-13 month transit through this sign, and Saturn having just exited it (a lot of weight in one sign). As well as pushing us to find new footing, upheavals in Capricorn bring up a shadow of fear and uncertainty.

Meditating with Black Tourmaline crystals has helped me a lot - especially the past few years as I have a key planet in Capricorn and had been feeling anxious even before this. Those of you who are into Bach Flowers Remedies may want to try Mimulus Remedy as it is said to help calm fears related to Capricorn, acting on the emotional body. As always, energy healing and vibrational remedies are complementary to medical care, not alternative.
