Do Healers Take on their Client's Energy? (via OM Times)

I have great news! This week I joined the team, volunteering at OM Times Magazine as Metaphysics Editor (it’s part of a charity) , which basically means I'll be reading article submissions on anything related to angels, astrology, intuition, psychic development and other fun metaphysical topics. I'm really excited, yesterday was my first day. I'm also teaching informal workshops on Energy Healing with Astrology this month, so I haven't had time to write on my blog. Hopefully that will change soon.

In the meantime, I thought I'd share links to the articles that I have published with OM Times in the past year. Just click on the titles to read the articles, and share your thoughts in the comments below.

Do Healers Take on their Client's Energy?
Healers work in the Human Energy Field, helping their clients release stress, tension and stuck emotions. While this creates harmony and balance, people often ask where that energy goes. Does the Healer absorb it and is there anything we can to do "protect" ourselves? This article shares some basic energy management techniques. Try it out!

We all have two angels, one that looks out for us and another that is said to take notes on what we do with our lives (I like to ask that second angel for reminders when I'm about to forget something). These angels look out for us, but is there anything we can do to help?

I had the pleasure of studying at two wonderful schools where we learned how to activate our Chakras in a gentle way, unlocking our intuition in the process. In this article I look at some of the basics, including grounding to give yourself solid energy foundations, and the role played by each of the seven chakras. Hint: They're all important, we need more than our Third Eye to see clearly.

I'm a huge advocate of meditation and mindfulness, but I also know that learning to quiet your mind can be challenging. The secret is to find a technique that you enjoy so that it's not a chore. Here you'll discover some of my favorite meditation techniques. Enjoy!

Here we look at the relationship between the mind, body and spirit, especially where shock, grief and cancer are concerned. A follow-up to my book, A Personal Guide to Self-Healing, Cancer and Love, this  builds on a key piece of  research that was published by Peking Union Medical College indicating that "women with striking life events were at 1.5-fold higher risk of developing breast cancer than women without." To me, this  highlights the importance of therapy and healing as we all have setbacks and its how we cope that matters.

My Year of Magical Training

I didn't blog about it, but 2015 was my year of magical training. If there is one thing I learned, magick and Energy Healing are not that different. Both involve directing Earth or Universal Energies for a specific purpose. With healing the focus is on restoring balance to the mind, body and spirit. Magic can accomplish this too, whether we use crystals, candles or words to quantify our intent. I'm now a huge fan of charging crystals with specific purposes and taking them with me everywhere I go.

We can program a crystal with what I would call an external goal, for example: to manifest a book deal, find a new home or a new job, etc. But I find it much more interesting to work magick on ourselves, transforming our own energy so we can become the best possible version of ourselves. I also discovered that we can work with our natal charts to facilitate the process. For example, I have virtually no water or fire in my chart. If you have read my post, Healing with Astrology, you'll know that all four elements are vital. Ideally we'll have an even mix, though many of us are astrologically lopsided. Magick and healing can help us find that balance.

What I enjoyed most were the daily meditations. Nothing too elaborate, a small altar with a candle, a crystal to represent the element of Earth, a silver bowl with Water, a chopstick wand to represent Fire and finally, a pen to represent the element of Air. I know we are supposed to use a ceremonial knife but as a writer, I felt that we need more pens and fewer weapons. Not to mention the fact that the element of Air is linked to thought, logic, writing, learning, etc. The rituals were limited to connecting with the planets, the angels and the Ascended Masters, same as I have always done, so the protective circle was all I needed to keep the space clear and safe.

I read a ton of books this year, practicing only the techniques that resonated, mainly those related to archangels, planets, and the Kabbalistic Tree of Life. I also went into space clearing and working through my unconscious in a lot more depth. In no particular order, these were some of my favorites. I think it's time I wrote a book on healing, magick, planets and maybe angels. Sounds like fun!

I am not done learning but it's time to greet the New Year with a new project, one that is long overdue. 2016 is going to be the year that I finally go green. It has been a while since I expanded my definition of healing to include our relationship with the planet and I am afraid to say I don't know where the "big wins" are. What can we do as individuals to help, and where do we need urgent intervention by governments? This next year I am going to make it my business to learn about Sustainability.

Crystal Healing 101: Choosing Your Crystals

I’ve been collecting crystals for years; the first was a celestite egg that I found when I moved to London. I was drawn to their light, energy and the variety of colors. My favorite had always been Amethyst but I now prefer the clear quartz variety, especially when we put them in the sun to charge their energy. I love how light sparkles through the shadows in clear quartz.

The more we connect with crystals, the easier it is for us to sense their vibes. You can hold crystals during meditation, though I have also noticed that just admiring them for a few minutes activates their energy. It's worth mentioning that new crystals should always be cleansed, regardless of their vibes, before we start working with them. Crystals are quick to absorb energy from their surroundings, whether it’s a shop or a previous owner's home and family.

There are crystals for just about any purpose: courage, prosperity, love, luck, grounding, intuition, relaxation, astral travel, the list goes on and on. We can also choose crystals according to our star signs, or even by Chakra. If we are at a loss, clear quartz are a good place to start because you can program them for any purpose. Beyond that, I like to choose a crystal, cleanse it, and work with it for a few weeks before looking up its purpose. This makes the process a bit more intuitive.

Below are some of the crystals that I work with on a regular basis:

Amethyst. This lovely purple stone happens to be my birthstone and it’s always been my favorite. It’s said to boost our intuition, heal and protect by transmuting negative energy. Maybe that's why we often use violet light to protect ourselves during meditation. I also find that amethysts help us wake up magically, so we can work with energy healing, intuition and  Intention to create positive change in our lives.

Orange Calcite. I discovered my Orange Calcite sphere by chance, while looking for the white variety that's known to boost our ability to sense and channel messages from the angels. Instead I was  drawn to the orange variety and I later discovered that it’s meant to replace fear with enthusiasm, making it easier for us to find the necessary courage as well.

Citrine. I can only describe this one as cheerful, it makes me feel downright giddy. We can connect with this yellow stone to boost our self-esteem and replace negative thoughts with positive ones. It's also linked with my rising sign of Gemini, maybe that's why it resonates.

Clear Quartz reminds me of Superman's Cave, the one he goes to when he wants answers from his galactic family. Quartz can be programmed for just about any purpose but it’s especially useful when we want to activate our intuition and connect with your angels, guides or to get a sense of other dimensions. I have a beautiful quartz sphere that I use for meditation, but I find that small tumbled stones are just as effective when we want to activate our clairvoyance. Hold the quartz in your hands and peer into it with your Third Eye Chakra.

Green Aventurine makes me feel lucky and why wouldn't it? Green Aventurine is a prosperity stone that is often associated with Jupiter, the planet of good luck and expansion. It is also a Heart Chakra stone which makes perfect sense, as my intuition tells me that we receive through the Heart Chakra. Work with Green Aventurine to manifest opportunities for yourself, while opening your energy and your Heart to receive all of those wonderful blessings.

Lapis Lazuli doesn't look like a crystal, is a solid blue stone with gold flecks. Lapiz is an intuition booster, working on our Throat and Brow Chakras to activate our psychic skills. In all honestly, I find it beautiful but the stone's energy has never resonated with me.

Rose Quartz amplifies the vibrations of love, it's a great Heart Chakra crystal. A few months ago I started using it in energy healing exercises, holding a big rose quartz in my hands and intending for its lovely energy to flow up my left arm, through my Heart and down my right arm again. This circle of energy boosts our ability to give and receive love and abundance, because as mentioned above, we receive via the Heart.

Red Jasper calms me down quite a bit. I found a piece that fits in the palm of my hand, wonderful for meditations. Red Jasper activates and heals the Root and Sacral Chakras. I am new to this one as well, so that's all I have to say for now! It has lovely energy.

While it's easy to become a crystal shopaholic, I should mention that we can connect with the energy of crystals and healing in meditation without having one with us. We do this by incorporating crystals in our grounding meditations: simply visualize tree roots growing out of the bottoms of your feet into the ground, cutting through layers of rock, dirt and concrete until they wrap around a huge quartz in the center of the earth. Let your Intuition fill in the blanks with a specific color. Let your roots wrap around that crystal, drawing its energy up through the earth to your body. We can also visualize crystals on each of our Chakras. End by placing a bubble of protective light around your body.

What is Your Spiritual Path?

Every now and then I do Interactive Tarot Readings on my Diary of a Psychic Healer Facebook Page. It is a fun and easy way for everyone to receive guidance. We meditate on a question and then choose three icons to receive a personalized message. The theme this week was evolution on our spiritual path!

Please look at the picture below and choose three icons to represent Past, Present and Future where spirituality and consciousness are concerned. The cards were drawn for some of my favourite decks.

Choose Three Icons And
Scroll Down for the Meanings!

Wizards Tarot by Corrine Kenner. Today's card is the Two of Cups. In this deck we see a young boy and a young girl drinking from silver goblets. The youthful looks and innocence stand out; this card is about a pure heart that just wants to connect with others through the spiritual realm. Everything is an adventure and part of a growth spurt. It's a Garden of Eden stage, one that we should enjoy as long as it lasts. Note: Click here for my review of the Wizard's Tarot deck!

Ascended Masters by Doreen Virtue. The card I pulled today is a Twin Flame card, but I'm going to read it in a way that might surprise you. I read a theory recently where our Twin Flame is really our Higher Self, that wiser part of our soul that knows who we are and what we are here to experience. If you chose this deck, it may be time to connect with your Higher Self. There is a great book by Sanaya Roman called Spiritual Growth that can help you do just that. Next January I'm starting a free study group so we can read it together, please drop by my Diary of a Psychic Healer FB Page for details.

Gaia Oracle by Toni C. Salermo. Today I pulled a card about wisdom, knowledge and spiritual understanding being aligned with Mother Earth. Take some time to ground yourself, meditate with Nature and let the plant, animal and crystal kingdoms share their secrets with you. Let us know how it goes!

Chrysalis Tarot by Toney Brooks. The card I pulled is about disillusionment on the spiritual path and my intuition tells me it's a natural part of the process. As we shed false beliefs, we are sometimes left with a hint of sadness Trust that the Universe will fill that space with a Truth that is closer to your heart and soul. You don't need a safety blanket. Take some time to meditate and feel yourself loved by "All that Is". The angels can also help us with this.

Mythic Tarot by Julia Sharman Burke. Today's card is the Three of Cups, a card about celebration, joy and social gatherings. This tells me that sharing your spiritual faith with others can bring you much joy, whether it's Christmas, Hanukkah or the Winter Solstice that warms your heart this December. It's all about community and connection.

Miracles Now by Gabby Bernstein. Today I have energy healing in the cards, as Gabby Bernstein's deck tells us that we can release ancient pain by allowing ourselves to feel it. Take a trip down memory lane, let yourself feel any emotions that may have been buried and consciously let them go. The focus is on healing with compassion.

Archangel Michael by Doreen Virtue. The card I pulled was about angelic protection and working with the angels to build our sense of trust and confidence on both physical and material levels. Though all of the cards in this deck have an angelic twist, this one encourages us to reach out to our angels, meditate with them and get to know their energies. The more familiar we are, the safer and cozier we will feel!

Angel Tarot by Doreen Virtue. Today we have the Knight of Fire! We see a  knight on horseback, ready to charge into battle. He represents our Higher or Spiritual Self, while the horse represents our human doubts and fears. This card encourages us to see our ego for what it is: a self-defense and protection mechanism, so that we can start to move beyond it when necessary. You may enjoy reading Eckhart Tolle's book A New Earth, one of my faves on this subject!

Angels of Atlantis by Stewart Pierce. Today's message is about Grace and how we can receive more of it in our lives. As the holidays are coming up soon, lets think about how we can channel the quality of Grace in all of our interactions, especially where giving and receiving is concerned. Follow this link for a few ideas!

I am determined to see clearly (ACIM 4)

I am running late with my final update on A Course in Miracles, and I don't want to skip it because a lot of exciting things happened last week. But first, let's talk about crystal balls! One of the first classes I signed up for at The College of Psychic Studies was a fun psychic exploration class with Michelle Hawcroft. This was in May of 2010, a few months before I started this blog. I was brand new to this magical world of spirit guides, angels, intuition and clairvoyance and every week was an adventure. I honestly loved all of the classes I took at the College, but Michelle's were probably the most fun.

Michelle had us try a different tool every week, to test our Intuition. The ones that stand out were clairvoyant meditations where we went on a meditative journeys to meet our spirit guides. Mine had long cloaks and initially I mistook them for monks, but eventually I also saw pointy hats and Dumbledore beards. Then one week, we practiced scrying with bowls of water - that was fun! Scrying is when you relax your mind and look into an object like a mirror, a crystal ball or even a bowl of water, and let your Intuition come in with images. Michelle made it easier for us by lighting candles and pouring melted wax into the water. The wax cools down quickly when it touches cold water, making odd shapes in the process. We looked for images in the wax, to try and intuit messages for each other.

When it was my turn to receive a reading, we saw three shapes in the wax: a star, a ballerina and a wizard! My classmates tuned into their intuition to get the meanings. The star represented my spirit guides and my connection with the Universe, the wizard was one of those guides, and the ballerina, well, you'll never guess! One of my classmates asked if I worked in theatre or performance art, was I a dancer? Nope, I was in marketing. She then asked if I was looking for a job (I was) and suggested I keep my mind open if someone approached me about a vacancy in music or dancing. She saw me "behind the scenes" doing something creative. At the time I worked in consumer marketing with a huge company and the thought of going to a theater never would have crossed my mind. I dismissed it. Two days later,  I almost fell off my chair when a headhunter called to tell me about a marketing job with a music academy. My classmate was onto something! That little bowl of wax and water let us peer into the future, but in the end I made my own decision, accepting a new job at the company where I already worked.

Since then I've been curious about scrying and for some reason, I really wanted a crystal ball even though I wasn’t sure how else to “use” one. The past five years I've gone into every metaphysical shop looking for quartz spheres but it never felt like it was the right time to buy one. That and the fact that the ones I saw didn't speak to me. Fast forward five and a half years to last Tuesday. I was sitting in class listening to our teacher talk about A Course in Miracles and how we're learning to see things clearly, without any of the assumptions that we tend to project onto the world. I had a weird trippy moment where I started thinking about the Egyptian Goddess Isis, her son Horus and how the mythology tells us that he lost an eye avenging his father's death, and only after that loss, was he able to see clearly. An eye for an eye is a sad way to live our lives. That's how Horus lived his, until he lost his human sight and gained the spiritual gift of seeing with his heart instead (his real eye).

I left my ACIM class on Tuesday thinking that I wanted to see clearly for once. How could I boost my clairvoyance? 🔮🔮🔮

On Thursday I had booked myself onto a quartz crystal workshop, one where we would get to connect with crystals, receive messages and use them for healing. I love crystals and I have read up on them, but I wanted more class time. The acquaintance that taught it suggested that I bring a quartz point with me to class and I didn't have one, so I went looking. Don't ask me why, I put a certain amount of cash in my wallet and went shopping. The only metaphysical shop near my house is tiny, and they didn't have any quartz points - but they did have crystal balls! I saw a quartz sphere and it just spoke to me. The price was exactly what I had in my pocket. I went home with the crystal that same day and used Thursday's class to activate it. So Tuesday I had this Horus moment where I wanted to see clearly, Wednesday I found my quartz crystal ball, and on Thursday we got to activate crystals. Synchronicities!

I'm looking forward to meditating with this quartz sphere. For now, I just hold it in my hands and feel its energy. I wasn't expecting to see any images but I have. It almost feels like I'm holding a snow globe and when I shake it (energetically), the dust settles and I see a different picture in my mind's eye

Reiki hugs,

Regina
