Color Healing Meditation (1/2)

Last week I discussed Medical Intuition and how listening can be a powerful healing tool. The idea is to communicate with our cells, organs or even with our Chakras to find out what the body needs. Are we pushing ourselves too hard or not enough? Is your diet optimal? Maybe you need more sleep or more exercise to feel energized. A simple meditation can give us the answers. By listening to the body's intuitive messages open ourselves up to receive intuitive guidance from our Soul. Those messages can appear as feelings or physical sensations.

Along these lines, I would like to share an excerpt from my book, A Personal Guide to Self-Healing, Cancer & Love. This particular passage is on Color Visualization, a tool that we can easily combine with Medical Intuition and healing to make the listening process easier.

Color Healing and Visualization
“One of my favorite healing techniques involves visualizing colorful energy in the body and the Aura. I sit in a quiet place and use my mind’s eye to scan for any energy that feels out of place, slow or tense. When I find an area that I want to work on, I use my imagination to give it a color. This makes it easier to identify the emotion that is held in that part of the body. For example, if I see or feel the color blue in my shoulder it could represent an undercurrent of sadness. The healing involves asking what this blue represents. The subconscious answers the question with an intuitive thought or feeling. The location in the body can also give clues. For example: The sadness might be in my shoulder because I did not reach out for help. We can work on releasing the color with a simple meditation.

Color Healing Meditations involve bringing your attention to the color and letting yourself feel it. Because the meditation is done with the intent to heal, merely directing your attention to the color will bring the consciousness of healing to that part of your body. You may start to notice intuitive thoughts, emotions and feelings. Memories might also surface and this is part of the process. It helps to observe the feelings, bless them with love and let them go. When that is done, bring your attention back to the color and visualize it filling with white or pink light. The light dissolves the color and releases the emotion from the body so that your personal energy can flow freely again. The meditation can be used on any part of the body, the Chakras or the Aura. It can also be used to visualize the tumor as a color and dissolve the emotional energy it holds.

It is worth noting that the same color can represent different things to different people. For example, grey often signals apathy to me. If I notice grey in a Healee’s Solar Plexus I would take it to mean they are apathetic about taking control of their life, as the Solar Plexus is the personal power center. For others it might represent the qualities of iron. They might sense grey energy in their Healee’s Solar Plexus and take it to mean that they are extremely strong. The person who sees the color relies on their intuition to interpret it. Colors are not inherently good or bad, they are just signals from the subconscious. No matter what color we see or feel, it can be healed and released using the same guided meditation. It is important that we embrace whatever we find, even if it makes us feel uncomfortable. Fill it with light and let the power of love heal it.”

You can also put colored pencil to paper and draw your Aura as you'd like to see it. Your intuition will give you the colored blueprint for perfect health, so color your heart away and keep it as a Colorful Vision Board. Let your intuition guide you as you engage with psychic art and healing in a fun way. It's also great to reconnect with our Inner Child through crayons and paper. Let your imagination be your guide!

A Case Study in Medical Intuition

Medical Intuition was one of my favourite subjects at the School of Intuition & Healing. As crazy as it may sound, the idea is to communicate with the body by asking questions and listening for a response. Our organs, Chakras and even our cells can be incredibly chatty. The liver will dish on the client's diet, too much of this and not enough of that. The pituitary gland can give us a rundown on the endocrine system.

We find aspects of our personalities in the different organs. Torn between following your Heart and your sense of duty? Your Chakras may reflect that tension. We also learned that the body can tell us what happened in a person's life to trigger feelings of sadness, confusion or loss. Medical Intuition is about listening as a healing tool. We coax the body into revealing pockets of energy that need healing, ideally before they manifest as a physical imbalance. You can do it yourself.

As an intuitive healer, it's not uncommon for me to notice these pockets of energy during sessions with clients. To use an example from my book on Self-Healing, Cancer & Love, a few years ago I had a young man come to see me for healing. Whenever I tuned into his energy I was immediately drawn to his Heart Chakra, even though he had come in for a different reason. In Healing School we learned to use the left hand for listening and the right for healing.

A Case Study from School

Holding my left hand just a few inches away from the client’s body, I asked his Heart Chakra to open up, telepathically of course! The images that came to mind led me to believe that he had deep rooted feelings of anger and disappointment towards his parents, all of that energy had been stored in his emotional heart. I thanked his body for sharing these impressions and sent healing to his emotional body.

After the session I asked about the relationship with his parents. It turns out that as a child, he had been pulled into their custody battles. The experience caused a lot of pain and even though a decade had passed, it could still be felt in his energy field. It's worth mentioning that these feelings were stored in his emotional body, not the physical. We worked on healing and releasing this energy over the next few weeks. I’d like to believe that energy healing helped him stay ahead of the curve. We can all use energy healing, meditation and other tools to put these experiences behind us.

Next week I'll post a short Color Healing Meditation to get you started. It's quite simple and we can all tune into our body for answers. The idea is to combine energy healing with conventional medicine and lifestyle changes for a comprehensive approach to health and wellbeing. If you'd like to learn more please see here for A Personal Guide to Self-Healing, Cancer & Love. While the book was written to help families who are coping with a cancer diagnosis, the healing tools can helpful in a wide range of situations. Grounding through my Merkaba Activation - Part 2

My last post was about a workshop called Awakening the Illuminated Heart, and how grounded I have felt ever since. The class is based on the teachings of a man called Drunvalo Melchizadech. I didn't know what to expect as the teachings are very New Age (Merkabas, Ascension,, etc). The class was pretty cool, a heart-based approach to co-creation. One of the big perks for me however, was how my energy field adapted. I now find it a lot easier to ground my energy through my Root Chakra.

This was a big step as I've always been one to ground my through my feet instead of my Root Chakra. Try as I might, I couldn't visualize or feel grounding cords at the base of my spine. If you're wondering, grounding refers to how well we connect with Mother Earth and how safe we feel in the world. That connection also makes it easier for us to release stress, tension and emotional debris into the ground for cleansing. We can also use our grounding to draw up earth energy, boosting our own energy levels. See here for Grounding 101.

The other secret is that the deeper our grounding, the easier it is for us to access clairaudience, clairvoyance and clair-knowing through the Throat, Brow and Crown Chakras as well as their corresponding Aura layers. We need solid grounding, a strong Aura and decent shielding skills to flex our Chakras safely. My foot Chakras compensated for the lack of grounding in my Root and my energy also skewed heavily towards the Brow Chakra which is great, but the Brow can lend itself to overthinking things. I would much rather let my intuition guide me. This workshop was about grounding in the Heart and letting it be our new driver. The first thing I noticed was deeper grounding. A few days later I felt a clearing in my Heart and Brow. The visual was stunning, a white dove and a flash of gold light. I could see and feel the light for two or three days and then in disappeared back to where it came from.

A few days later my energy shifted again during a basic Chakra meditation. This time it was my Aura. I saw myself surrounded in a deep violet light and before I knew what happened, it dawned on me that I was looking at my seventh Aura layer. This is the outermost part of our spiritual Aura and its full of Crown Chakra energy. In her book Hands of Light, Barbara Brennan also tells us that the seventh Aura layers holds together the rest of our aura (it's the shell that protects and filters the energies around us).

This is the first time I sense it in so much detail and it made me think back to one of my first psychic classes, back in 2010. My teacher told us that we had seven aura layers, each corresponding to one of the main Chakras. When we're starting out on our intuitive journey, its easiest for us to activate and feel the innermost layers: physical, mental and emotional and that's why so many psychics can tune into how other people feel. That is more or less where I am now. Not sure what happened and why my perception jumped from the inner layers to the outermost (7th) layer. The violet energy is often associated with St Germain and with manifesting or magic. I'm curious to see what happens with the middle layers, which I haven't activated consciously.

Thinking back to my days as a student Healer at the School of Intuition & Healing, we also studied Chakra pairs. The Root, Heart and Crown bring stability to our physical, mental, emotional and spiritual selves. One of my classmates likened the three Chakras to the bread in a club sandwich, holding all of the ingredients together. Now that my Root, Heart and Crown seem to be working on a more conscious level, maybe the rest of the Chakras will follow. I've been meditating almost every day since this workshop, can't wait to see what happens and I'm hoping that my Sacral and Solar Plexus Chakras follow suit. If I look at what Barbara Brennan says about the Aura in Hands of Light, the 7th layer holds the blueprint of who we are on a soul level, and hopefully that will filter down to my human identity in the third Aura layer and my Solar Plexus. Maybe it will remind me that there's more to me (and you) than we realize.

Grounding through my Merkaba Activation - Part 1

Last month I attended Awakening of the Illuminated Heart, a heart healing workshop that taught us how to connect our Brow Chakra to our Heart, so that we could see the world through our Heart and not the mind. This connection is also one that Barbara Brennan references in Hands of Light, telling us that Unconditional Love flows when both of these Chakras are open and connected. The Brow Chakra and its corresponding Aura layer make it possible for us to see the light in others, regardless of who they are to us.

The big reveal at the end of the workshop was a manifesting meditation that we can use to create images with our Heart and Mind, things that you want to bring into your life. I started out visualizing themes like healing, abundance, friendships and a completely healed and whole emotional body so that I can relate to others from a place of wholeness and not old hurts. I think I'm almost there, but there are probably a few experiences that I still need to release. Rather than carry on with the manifesting meditations, I have been connecting with my healing guides through my Heart Chakra and just chilling out. Since then my energy has been shifting in ways that I didn't expect. This is what I've noticed so far:

Grounding through the Base Chakra

I have been practicing energy healing and meditation since 2009. In the early days I was incredibly ungrounded, say 37% out of 100 (don't ask me how I got to that number as its a long story lol). Since then I have been working on grounding my energy, usually with clairsentient meditations where you run earth energy through your legs to your Base Chakra and down again. As a result, I got to be very good at grounding through my foot chakras and that's fantastic, but I still couldn't ground through my Base Chakra. We did lots of meditations in Healing School, they often began with grounding through the Base Chakra. The idea was to drop a grounding cord from the bottom of your spine (or Base) into the ground and let it sink to the center of the earth. I usually wound up grounding through my feet instead. My Base wasn't as open as my upper Chakras and I couldn't wrap my head around it. Thankfully my legs compensated for my ungrounded Base Chakra or I wouldn't have gotten very far with healing either.

The past few weeks I've noticed a change and I think it's the workshop. There was one particular meditation where the teacher guided us through activating our Merkabas (merkawhats?), which Google defines as "the divine light vehicle allegedly used by ascended masters to connect with and reach those in tune with higher realms." It's also meant to be an Ascension tool, though in my peculiar world view Ascension may very well be about grounding. In class we also learned to  program our Merkabas to speed up the earthly learning process, attracting people, events and life lessons that will help us grow (in a friendly way, I hope). I haven't been able to sense my Merkaba just yet, but I do feel a lot better, more grounded and happier since I activated it. I am not sure if the teachers intended for the Merkaba Activation to ground us, but I strayed from the meditation and activated my Base Chakra spontaneously.

This is what happened ...

A couple months ago, I was meditating at home and connecting my guides. Occasionally they give us spiritual gifts, tools that we can work with in our daily lives. In the past I've received a crystal wand, a protective cloak and a few other gadgets. This time I got an ankh, a protective cloak and a few other gadgets. This time I got an ankh, that Egyptian symbol that is said to be a key for life, death and immortality. I had no idea what to do with it so I said thanks and tucked it away. Well wouldn't you know, the ankh popped into my mind during the Merkaba activation, and somehow I know that I was supposed to plug it into my Base Chakra. I did, and suddenly I felt a rush of energy going from my Base up my spine, past my Heart  to my Crown Chakra and back down again. It was like I turned a key and let energy flow through my Base Chakra to the rest of my Body. It was fantastic and since then I've been incredibly grounded.

Honestly I don't know if this is what the workshop leaders intended, but it has been one of the most valuable side benefits of the class. Deep grounding makes it easier for us to channel healing energy, give readings and just be in the moment. I also have a funny feeling that this Base Chakra activation is going to help in other ways. The rest of my Energy Body is already adapting to the change, especially my Crown Chakra and outer Aura. Read Part 2 Here!  =)

Here is a short video - the merkaba is the double triangle (one facing up, other down) that spina around the body. It is based on Sacred Geometry.

Tips for the Common Cold

So many of us catch colds when we are overworked, stressed or in need of a break. So as obvious as this may sound, it is important to get some rest and take care of ourselves. That said, I would like to share a convenient tool that I learned at the School of Intuition and Healing in London. I use it when I feel a cold coming on, to try and avoid a full-blown sneeze fest. The theory is that colds enter through the Aura before they reach the physical body, and that when we feel that scratchy throat or start sniffling, it's because the cold has found it's way to the innermost layer, just a few centimeters above our skin. At this point, we may still be able to clear it.

In my student days, I learned to focus my healing efforts here:
Work on Your Grounding: The more grounded we are, the more resistant our energy. Turn your attention to the soles of your feet, and intend for your foot chakras to open up and connect you to the earth. We can draw on earth energy for strength and support. More importantly, we can also release all of our excess energy into the ground, so that it no longer weighs on our system. Visualize a shower running through your aura, taking the cold symptoms with it, and the surround yourself with a bubble of light, warmth and healing. Please see below for a Grounding Tutoral by Sue Allen, of the School and Intuition & Healing.
The Root Chakra. This is the Chakra at the bottom of the spine, between our legs (see here). Not only does the Root Chakra help with grounding, but it also links into the physical Aura layer, where we can find the energetic imprint of our physical imbalances. The idea is to use Reiki or Energy Healing to clear and balance the physical Aura layer through the Root Chakra.
Personally, I like to place my hands over my lap for as long as it takes, intending for Reiki to flow through my Root Chakra to my whole body. If I have specific symptoms, I cover those as well. If my head hurts or my throat is scratchy, I will keep one hand on my Root Chakra and the other on my Throat or Brow Chakra, though focusing on grounding and the Root Chakra works best for me. The Root Chakra directs healing to the entire physical body which is great if you are feeling worse-for-wear, though ideally, we would make self care a daily habit to keep our energy levels high enough.
Send Healing to the Immune System, by placing one hand on your chest between your Heart and Throat Chakras. If you think back to Vicks Vapor Rub, this is the spot. It's as easy as a placing one hand a few centimeters under your collar bone when you are out and about. This placement is taught by the School of Intuition and Healing - the healing course is available in the UK and South Africa.

If you would like to learn more about healing, see here for A Personal Guide to Self-Healing, Cancer and Love. Though this book was designed to help families who are coping with a cancer diagnosis and the stress it entails, the self-healing techniques can be helpful for us all. Energy healing is complementary to medical care; these tools are to be used along with suggestions from your doctor.

Meditating with Claude Monet, Van Gogh and Degas

One of my favorite meditation tools was inspired by a Disney movie. Like so many kids, I loved Mary Poppins. My favorite was the Spoonful of Sugar sequence, followed by the chalk drawing scene in the park where Dick Van Dyke's character has them jump into a piece of street art. The park comes alive in chalky technicolor. Last week I went to the Met in New York and even if I didn't jump into the paintings, they do come alive if you spend enough time looking at them. It's hard not to imagine the subjects coming out of still life or laughing between takes.

The meditation tool is just that, choose a photograph, a painting or a tarot card and bring it to life around you. Relax your mind and let your imagination do the rest. So for example, if you're looking at a vase of flowers ask yourself how they smell, what texture does the vase have? Imagine yourself picking it up. Is it heavy? If your memory is great, you can close your eyes. Otherwise keep them open and let the images move in your mind's eye. This is a great way to hone your psychic skills too, whether it's sight, sound, touch or feeling the energy.

I thought we could try a fun exercise today. Here are pictures of some of my favorite's from the Met. Choose the one your drawn to, and then follow this brief Opening Meditation to activate your Chakras. When that is done, turn your attention to the image and let it come to life around you! Be sure to close down again, when you are done.

Opening Up Meditation
  • Sit down, close your eyes and relax. Take three deep breaths. Visualise tree roots growing out of the bottom of your feet into the ground. Connect with the earth and draw warm nourishing energy into your legs. Let that energy travel up your legs, your abdomen to your Heart Chakra.
  • Take your attention up through the atmosphere to a distant star. The star is going to illuminate our Crown, Brow and Throat Chakras so that we can see and feel the beauty around us. Close your eyes and wait for that beam of light to touch the top of your Head. Let it flow down to your Heart.
  • Place a bubble of protective light around you. Open your eyes.

Choose a Painting Below ...

All of these pictures are from the Met, you'll see Monet, Renoir, Degas, Van Gogh and a few others. Choose the ones you are most drawn to, the ones that speak to you naturally. Enjoy yourself, relax your mind and let your imagination and your intuition bring it to life. Be sure disconnect and close down your energy when you are done. You can do this easily by thanking the star for it's light, disconnecting and letting your Chakras switch off one by one. Surround yourself with light and off you go!

And finally my favorite from Monet's garden in Giverny!

We can also connect to these paintings through music. Here is Don MacLean's Starry Starry Night; feel the energy behind the music. Please share your experiences in the comment box below. Enjoy!
