Starry Night and Wildflowers

One of my fellow students gave me a psychic reading this week and she absolutely nailed it, the first thing she mentioned was my book collection and the fact that it’s all over the place. I have books topics ranging from business, marketing, kabbalah, quantum physics and religion to astrology, healing, energy management, angels and dowsing. She described me as quirky and then went on to talk about how to integrate that quirky personality that wants to be psychic but also wants to be a part of mainstream society.

There were a lot of reassuring messages in the reading, my favorites were:

1. My guides want me to try Automatic Writing as often as possible, it's my best bet if I want to develop my abilities and also learn to trust them. I struggle a lot with putting faith in what I experience on a psychic level and end up dismissing a lot of it when the sun comes up the next morning. Having the words on paper gives me something to come back to for proof, and also gives me a chance to go back over the messages and make sense of them.

2. I spend too much time worrying about things like my career, my flat, the handyman and the repair work that needs to be done. My primary focus in life will be my spiritual development, this is what will make me truly happy. As long as the spiritual path is sorted out, our guides will take care of all the little details like the job, the living situation, the cash flow.

3. I was given a symbolic gift but I can't remember what it was, that's why I need to write things down.

4. She also told me that she saw me living in two opposing worlds, but still managing to make them blend seamlessly. The images she saw in her meditation where of a huge garden filled with colorful flowers. Half of them were very organized, trimmed down and neat like a groomed Japanese garden. The rest were wild flowers that grew tall in all directions. The two flower types weren't separate though; they swirled together and occupying the space in peace & harmony.

We both took the nice groomed flowers to represent my life in mainstream society, and the tall wild flowers to be my psychic and spiritual development. The key message was that I didn't need to try keeping them separate, or go out of my way to seem "normal" with some people and "psychic" with others. The idea is very encouraging, and it suggests that I need to accept this wild flower side without worrying about what other groomed flowers might say.

Automatic Writing for Beginners

There are many ways to access your intuition, but my favourite so far is automatic writing. My first attempt was spectacular, I started asking random questions and  when I got to the right one, the answers came intuitively. Some describe it as telepathic or psychic dictation, others say you enter into a hypnotic state and your intuition guide your hand.  For me it was like a conversation, and I rushed to capture everything before it slipped my mind.

There are lots of books out there on automatic writing, this is what worked for me:
  • Ground Yourself: Bathe yourself in a cocoon of white light and throw your roots down from the bottom of your feet to the center of the earth.  If this is new for you, imagine each of your legs like the trunk of a tree, and visualize roots growing down into the ground. This helps keep you anchored, which in turn leads to clear and centered messages.
  • Ask for Protection:  The  white light helps, but if you're looking to contact a spirit  you are much better off with the big guns looking out for you. I  always call in the four archangels to cast a protective circle around me: Archangels Michael, Rafael, Gabriel and Uriel. It might be overkill, but I like to bring the whole crew in so I can ask for answers without worrying about who is communicating.
  • Open Up: Today I started by pulling earth energy up  my left leg and then down the right leg back into the ground.  This gets the energies flowing and also makes you more conscious of your own vibration. Then visualize and feel the energy flowing up both legs past the root chakra and up the spinal column, flicking on red, orange, yellow, green, purple and blue lights as it passes each of the 7 chakras.

This whole process can take 5-10 minutes depending on how much control you have over your energy field. Daily chakra meditations make the process easier. Now here comes the fun part, pick up a pen and paper!

  • Say What's On Your Mind! Pour your heart out, I write a page with all the stuff that's bogging me down, this clears the mind and creates quiet space for our spirit guides to make contact. As my guides once told me, they can't get a word in if our minds are going a thousand miles per hour!
  • Pay Attention:  There comes a moment when the mind chatter fades and the tone of voice changes. The words you're writing start to calm you down, and the messages are reassuring and peaceful.  This is when your guides start to communicate, in my case the narrative will often change from the 1st to the 2nd person.
  • Trust What's Coming to You: One of the things I struggle with is knowing where the info comes from. Is it my subconscious? Is it a spirit guide? Am I talking to myself?  Guidance can be very very subtle, you just have to learn to recognize it. With time you may start to notice that some of your wiser thoughts come from someone else.
  • Clear and Shield Yourself: Once you're done, its important to clear your energy by visualising white or violet light running down through your Aura and body into the ground. This releases any psychic energy. Next visualise your Aura returning to its normal size, and arms length above, below and all around. Fill and surround yourself with violet light, intending for that light to shield you. Thank the angels and snuff out the candle without blowing =)

One of the best ways to stimulate your abilities is to talk to people who are on the same spiritual path. Finding common ground helps us recognize and develop our psychic skills, so if you've had any luck with automatic writing go ahead and tell us about it!

Reading Colors in Auras

Yesterday I saw aura colors during a healing session, I wasn't even trying to read her her and they just appeared.  These things always take me by surprise, the last time I saw colors it was in the healing energy as it went through the chakras. I had never actually seen anything in the client's energy body.

I was healing my client's legs and when I placed my hand near her left hip I saw the lightest, brightest blue.  How can I describe it? It wasn't like her legs turned blue, the way I experienced it was a wave of pale blue light that flooded my mind's eye when I placed my hand near her left hip.  It surprised me and I kept my hands there for a few minutes more than I needed to, trying to get a feel for what the color had to say.  It was a light peaceful mood, but still a bit melancholic.

After the session I mentioned it to my client and she said that was how she'd been feeling, and that she was going home that weekend to see her family because she missed them. Interesting enough, our base chakra and our legs connect to our roots and our family life (our origins). It wasn't a coincidence that I'd seen melancholic blues in her legs and I'm glad I mentioned it because it reinforced my vision.

Bright Red Potions

Being constant is probably one of the most difficult things for me, finding the time to meditate everyday. Making an effort to talk to my guides, and now that I've been traveling with mythical animals that's another distraction.  Just don't know what to focus on, and then there is the healing as well.

Today I saw a purple door, and when I walked through it I was greeted by foggy lilac light that slowly disappeared as I walked down the long white flight of stairs to a white, but not so bright corridor. The walls were light purple as well, even through I couldn't see a fabric. It was almost like the paper was made of faint lilac light.  When I stepped outside I was greeted by the most vivid green flowery bushes I have ever seen. It was a really beautiful garden with lots of light green bushes, full of flowers and fresh air. I could almost hear birds chirping in the background. The atmosphere was absolutely magical all the way there and then I saw a big white unicorn.

It's name was Danubio.

The unicorn carried me to a castle on a hill overlooking the seaside. I couldn't actually see the ocean, but I could sense it in the distance. It left me at the top of a long flight of open stairs, which I descended towards an open courtyard. A young woman greeted me there with a red fruity potion that I drank.  My physical body reacted to it, and I could feel it sinking into my base chakra and lighting up the sacral. I had a few berries, but then started feeling anxious and went back to the unicorn who somehow transported me directly to the purple chair. Its almost like the trip was too much for me, but I think its because I am physically exhausted and meditating more than that would have been too much.

Mythical Creatures in Psychic Readings

We studied dragons & unicorns in this week's psychic awareness class, the teacher mentioned that mythical creatures have had so much attention that they've actually developed into thought forms in other dimensions. Dragons can be good or bad, just like humans, the amazing thing is that they can actually take you to another location to see and experience things that are relevant for the readee.

The guided meditation started with the typical trip to a clearing in the woods, where we were instructed to wait for a guide, an angel, or a creature to appear. For a split second I tried to imagine a unicorn but a dragon showed up instead. I saw its eye, and when it came closer to me I could sense a reptilian energy around me. It took me a few minutes to get close to it (mostly because of my own nerves).  I remember stroking its nose, looking into its eyes and getting a feel for its very active, friendly spirit. It was willing me to climb on its back, it never communicated telepathically, I just knew what it wanted me to do.

At 1st I was terrified of sliding off, there isn't really anything to hang onto and I think it might have wrapped its tail around my waist to give me the illusion of safety. I just sat there for a while and didn't let it take off. Finally I was OK with flying and it just started going up into the sky. The whole time my logical mind was competing with my 3rd eye, I tried to see sunny green fields in the horizon but it dragon went to a distant, smoky city instead.

The whole experience felt like scene from that movie about the ghosts of Christmas past, or maybe a trip to Narnia. I knew I was actually sitting in a room at school, but at the same time my spirit was traveling to this other dimension where I could walk, talk and interact with magic dragons. I also kept my free will the whole time, and had to consciously agree to take the next step before letting it happen.

The dragon left me on the roof of a  lone skyscraper in the smoky city. I climbed off its back and suddenly knew that there was nowhere to go except for over the ledge. I had the distinct feeling of being up 100 flights of stairs, and remember thinking that this ledge had to have meaning for my readee. My logical mind resisted the jump, but I threw myself off expecting to plummet to my "meditative" death.

Strangely enough, I fell about 3 feet and landed unharmed in the middle of a sunny terracotta village. It reminded me of the Italian country side, and people were sitting for brunch enjoying the day. It was warm, bright, and friendly. No one noticed me, or the dragon that appeared to take me back to the clearing.  The sensations where so vivid, even though the visuals were a bit hazy.

When we came out of the meditation I went on to describe this to my readee. We both took it to mean that she was very scared of taking a leap in her life, but that the fall was not going to be as dramatic as she expected. The whole class meditated on a message for the same woman, and as we went around in a circle to give the reading it was surprising to see how the messages were very similar (albeit with different visual experiences).

This worked much better for me than trying to sit down and talk to my guides, I hadn't been able to actually establish much of a dialogue, I guess clair audience isn't one of the skills that I've got to work with now. This was just as good, and the symbolism in visuals is fun to work with. When I listened to the other students talked, they mentioned elements that I'd experienced, but didn't think to mention.

So I'm going to be a medium?

I can't get away from talking to the departed, no matter how hard I try to ignore them. I'm a wimp when it comes to dealing with grieving people. It makes me really nervous - I’d rather just shut that door.

My only experience with mediumship has been nerve wrecking. I read for a woman in her 40's or 50’s, and when I saw a little girl in pigtails I thought it might be her daughter.  Thank God, the little girl was still alive and the message was about how to interact with her. The spirit gave me the little girl's name telepathically, and then flooded my mind with a series of crude images. Later, I talked through these with my readee and we interpreted the message together. It was an amazing experience, but I was sick for 2 days afterward because of my nerves.

In the bottom of my heart I've known all along that I really want to do this again, if you're actually good at it, its something that can really comfort people. But the though of trying and failing scares me, and to be perfectly honest I was not brave enough to try it again.  Instead I've been meditating on my chakras, visualizing spirit guides and even trying to read colors (all good fun).

This week's class was supposed to be about psychometry; it was random because the teacher had switch chairs. When you sat down you were supposed to tune into the classmate's energy and give them information. The first thing I got was a scent of old wood and mothballs, that and the image of a peach colored living room.  We asked my teacher what a fragrance means and she replied that it is often a spirit trying to communicate from the other side.  That was as far as I got on this round.

We switched partners and tried again, this time I was handed a beautiful Tibentan pendant. The energy was playful, adventurous and very admirable. I could get a  feel for the energy but I couldn't really say more about the owner. It turns out that the friend who gave him the pendant had already passed away, this is when I started to notice a pattern.

The third and final object I was given also belonged to someone who had already passed on. These three attempts made it clear that its time I open myself up to spirit again. Looking back, the one thing that stand out is how eager my classmates were to have news from ther loved ones. They wanted the comfort of knowing they were OK, and being able to give that to someone can be quite special.
