The Muse Tarot Deck: Are You Ready to Dive into the Unknown?

There is a tarot meme going around where your favorite tarot deck is the last one to make it into your collection, and while that may be true, the past year I discovered two decks that will remain favorites for many years to come: The Lightseer's Tarot and The Muse Tarot, both by an artist called Chris Anne.

You may have heard of The Lightseer's Deck - it was a big release in the tarot community. I love that it prompts us to work with shadow and light in healing ourselves, but the one that I have been drawn to most is The Muse TarotFor one, I love that the suit of Pentacles is illustrated with flowers, an apt metaphor for prosperity filling us with love, beauty and with a solid community in the 10 of Pents, not just material things. We also need a bit of Fire (Sunlight) and Water for things to flourish, as discussed below!

The past year or so I have been lucky to be surrounded by bugambilias in many shades of pink and orange. These flowers represent joy and life blooming under the sunshine; they always remind me of this deck.

The Muse Tarot gives guidance on how to create a joyful life, while reminding us that the task requires a mix of Fire (Inspiration and Action), Water (Emotions), Materials (Planting seeds & gardening) and Air (clarity). I love that it's filled with bright pink flowers. Coincidentally, the cover of Chakra Healing & Magick is a flower mandala and if you've read the book, it looks at healing the Aura through the four Elements in a tarot deck.

Ready to Step Into The Unknown?

Last month I pulled two Muse Tarot cards and asked my Facebook community to choose the one that they were drawn to. One was revealed, the other hidden. Do we stay with what we know or take a gamble on something new in life? The cards are part of a flow, both of the energies are necessary in our lives but the one we choose will tell us where work is needed.

On the left we had The Star card, visible for all to see. It is one of my favorite tarot cards because it points us towards the heavens where we can gain insight on our life path, including love, joy and heart fulfillment. It also relates to hopes, wishes and dreams. This card shows lots of promise but it is up in the air, how do we ground that potential in our daily lives?

The second card in the reading was the Four of Materials (traditionally the Pentacles). Here we see a woman who sits and hugs the material comforts that give her a sense of security (flowers in this deck), but just above her is a beautiful pink flower that she can’t see and that is much bigger than the ones she is afraid to release. Today my intuition points me to the Kabbalistic Tree of Life, upon which the original Rider-Waite Smith Tarot deck was designed.

The four lower spheres or flowers relate to the Human Self with all of our quirks, loves and insecurities. The fifth sphere up from the bottom is where we begin to connect with our Higher Self and its beauty & power. The Higher Self is also the Guiding Star in the card on the left.

The message is that reaching for our Higher Self and the doors that it opens for us involves stepping out of our comfort zone - or in my case, being dragged out lol. One of my first Kabbalah teachers used to say our biggest joy was on the other side of our biggest fear, this combination of cards speaks to that!

Here is an Introduction to the Tree of Life - it can be seen on a cosmic level as 10 spheres of energy, but also on a personal level with the bottom sphere is under your feet and the top sphere is on your crown chakra. The middle sphere of Beauty aligns with the Heart & Solar Plexus Chakras. These energies are all active in our unconscious and we can work with tarot and with psychology to access them.

Reiki hugs,

Regina

Ps.... Both of these decks complement the tools in Chakra Healing & Magick perfectly. There are lots of knockoffs online so I added the official websites below. Please note, I am not an affiliate and will not earn a commission.
