Angel Cards vs iPhone Apps

A friend of the family came over this week to learn about angels. She asked how I got into healing, intuition, and was it a gift? I think its a gift we all have. Learning to follow your intuition is like learning to play the piano, we can all learn to read music, sound out the keys and have fun with the songs. Its true that some people might pick it up quicker, more seamlessly. Maybe they've done it in past lives.

But we can all learn. Everyone can. Especially with the wonderful tools at our disposal. I learned to do psychic readings at the College of Psychic Studies, where we'd start with a nice, long meditation. My tutor taught us to start by grounding and protecting ourselves before taking the journey. The beginners meditation started with us imagining a door in front of us. Open the door, step through it. You come into a hallway, find a staircase leading downwards, and we go down one step at a time (putting us in a relaxed mode). From there the teacher would guide us to different locations without describing our surroundings in too much detail. Your imagination brings it to life for you.

After the meditation we'd write down what we saw and then talk about it. The psychic messages were in the things we'd seen. The colour of that door, how heavy it was. What was the scene like on the other side? And then the place we traveled to, what it looked like, who we saw there. My destination was often full of book. A lot like the library in Beauty and the Beast. I love reading, learning, writing. Its in my Spiritual DNA. After a few sessions, we started going on guided tours of our classmate's spiritual hideouts. That was amazing. I might not see it the same way they did, but I'd interpret what I saw and would then give them a message. Sometimes we'd interpret it together.

Of course, this takes lots and lots of practice. Lots of meditation. Angel Cards, Tarot Cards, i Ching, the runes and other tools can give us a short cut. Just ask a question, pull a card and see what comes up. I pulled a few cards for our family friend this week and then encouraged her to buy her own deck, as she really seemed to enjoy it. Most of the decks I own are available printed, though you can also buy an iPhone or iPad app. Personally, I'm pretty comfortable with electronics and I use these more than the physical decks. Somehow, the cards always seem to be relevant. On this particular occasion, I pulled 8 cards from my "physical" decks and then 4 on my iPhone. Would you believe me if I told you that three of the cards I pulled on my iPhone also came up on the first reading, with the physical deck? What are the chances? I honestly believe it was the angels demonstrating that it makes no difference which you use. My favourite decks I'll even end up buying twice, to have both.

My favourite decks for beginners are these:

      The Radiant Rider Waite

The Wizard's Tarot Deck

Angel Therapy Cards
This isn't Tarot but still one  of my faves

What is Energy Healing?

Energy Healing is a complementary therapy that promotes mental, emotional and spiritual well-being, as well as relief from stress-related health concerns.

Energy Healers channel a mix of Universal and Earth energies, through their Heart and Palm Chakras to the client’s body and energy field. This helps them release stuck energy, emotions and anxiety that they may have picked up from everyday interactions. So for example, let’s say you’ve had an argument where you found yourself exasperatingly tongue-tied. Not having the words to express yourself can leave a sense of frustration and even constriction in your throat. I’ve certainly been there a few times! Or maybe, you felt a pang in your stomach, where we tend to hold our personal power and boundaries. If this happens often, the energy builds and we may see chronic sore throats or even tummy aches. Energy Healing aims to clear this energy from the body and the energy field.

There’s a fantastic book by Inna Segal, called The Secret Language of your Body, that sheds light on the meaning behind specific symptoms and organs. Similar to Louise Hay's work in You Can Heal Your Life, though Segal goes into the meanings in more detail. I use this knowledge, combined with my intuition and the channeled energy, to work my way through a healing session, whether it’s with a client. Or just healing myself – which is also wonderful!

It's worth mentioning that Energy Healing is complementary to medical care, not alternative. I like to think that healing addresses the mental, emotional and spiritual aspects of disease, while conventional medicine takes care of the physical urgency. This is especially important when it comes to serious conditions like cancer, diabetes and certain mental health issues. While some people have strong affinities for either natural/alternative medicine, or conventional,     I like to get the best of both worlds.

What happens during a session?

We have the Healer, channeling energy, and a client receiving it. The client usually sits or lies down, fully clothed. I usually start by placing my hands on the client’s shoulders to connect with them, before working my way through the Chakras and the Aura.

Focusing on the Aura and Chakra System enables us to focus on specific areas of our life; for example: Root Chakra to strengthen our foundations, Sacral Chakra to stimulate our appetite for life, Solar Plexus to work on our confidence and personal power, Heart Chakra to enhance our experience of love, Throat Chakra to strengthen our voice, Brow Chakra for our vision and analytical skills, and finally Crown Chakra to boost our intuition and spiritual connection. We can also clear and balance the different Aura layers, before ending the session by grounding the client.

I'll do this by putting my hands on their feet and intending for excess energy to go into the earth. This clears the mental and emotional bodies again.

It's common for clients to report feeling relaxed afterwards. During the session, you may feel temperature changes, tingly sensation or electricity. Everyone is different. Some people feel nothing, and that’s OK. I tend to feel the energy strongly when I give healing. Not so much when I receive it.
People often ask if they need to believe in healing for it to work. In my experience, they just need to be open to receiving it. It’s OK to be skeptical, especially at first. Some of my case studies in Healing School were colleagues who had never had healing and were curious and a little bit skeptical. The best way to understand how it works is to go for a session and try it out. You might be surprised!

A little bit on Self-Healing

Before we take our first caller, I'd like to talk a bit about self-healing. Seeing a professional Healer can give us a big boost and a sense of direction, but nothing beats learning to heal yourself. Even when we do see a healer, we only release the baggage that we’re ready to let go of. It’s a great idea to take an active role in your healing process. There are plenty of self-healing techniques to choose from, including Reiki, meditation and breathe work.

Tune in next week to learn more! If you'd interested in self-healing, I would also suggest you look up my book: A Personal Guide to Self-Healing, Cancer and Love. Though the theory is tailored to families who are coping with cancer, the techniques can be applied by anyone.

Writing my Memoirs (Already!)

I haven't been blogging so much this year. There's a good reason for it too: I'm halfway through the 1st draft of my next book! Yay! Its coming along slowly, I started in December and writers block got in the way most of the winter. Or maybe I just needed a break. Since then I've been scrawling away (literally) and I've got about 50 thousand words down on the first draft. About 40% through my outline, though I'm sure I'll end up cutting a lot of it later.

What's it about? Well ...

I'm rewriting this blog as a memoir, from scratch. Not sure exactly where it starts. Maybe when I quit my job in Mexico in 2008 to go travelling and somehow found myself moving to London. That was when I discovered healing, astrology and eventually, psychic development. I'm thinking back to the early days: what it was like to get the first impressions, to wonder if I was imagining things or if I was really getting signs. Its been 4-5 years and so much has happened. So many interesting people along the way.

Fingers crossed I will be done with this first draft in the next month or two and then I can put it down for a while. I have been wanting to write a fiction story with a supernatural slant, and that interlude could be a good time to do it. I'm still thinking about the Flower Fairy I dreamt up last year (see here).

Here's my 1st draft: handwritten to get past the writer's block =)

The Archangels - Part 3

This is our third and final instalment on the Archangels, you will find the 1st post HERE. Just to recap, the archangels are higher up in the angel hierarchy. They help with different spheres of life whether its communication, healing or understanding our life purpose. Today we are going to talk about Archangel Metatron, Chamuel and Azrael.

The Angel of Love: Chamuel

We can call on Chamuel to dial up our experience of love, especially our ability to give, receive and feel love. He can also help us feel unconditional love and compassion. From this point of view, love can be romantic, platonic or familial. To connect with Archangel Chamuel sit quietly and feel his presence.

The Angel of Grief: Azrael

Azrael’s main purpose is to comfort souls when they pass away and to help the families who are left behind. He facilitates the grieving process. Azrael is one of the angels who steps in even if we don't ask for his help. If you are having difficulty getting over a loss, you can call on Archangels Raphael and Azrael for healing. Of course in these situations it will also be useful to see a counselor or a healer for specific help.

Past Lives & Integration: Metatron

Metatron is one of two Archangels who is said to have lived as a human before ascending to heaven. He was a scribe in ancient times and in the spirit world he is also in charge of record keeping. Archangel Metatron looks after the Akashic Records, where we can find information on our past lives, including skills and abilities to tap into. We can work with Metatron and with Archangel Raphael, the Healing Angel, to let go of past or present life experiences that could be tripping us up now. If you're interested in exploring your past lives, look up Denise Linn's book, Past Lives, Present MiraclesShe includes lots of wonderful tips for exploring and healing past lives. Fab book!

Metatron is also associated with Sacred Geometry and with The Chariot in Tarot. These two are closely linked. The card depicts a Chariot being pulled by two horses, one black and the other white. The horses want to go in different directions and its up to the driver to reign them in and keep their momentum under control. I like to think of the Chariot as a Marathon Runner who needs to bring both mental and physical stamina to a race. The card is about pulling ourselves together and making a big push before we get to the finish line. Also about bringing polarities together so that we can harness their potential. With Archangel Metatron’s help, we can leverage sacred geometry to accomplish this. I’ll go into sacred geometry another day, probably need to research it some more! So far my experiences with it have been limited.

Note: Archangel Metatron is usually linked to Ascension, not integration. Maybe it's just semantics, but I associate Ascension with escapism. I prefer to think of integrating, grounding and self-healing for a happier and well adjusted existence on Earth.

A Guided Meditation

2020 Update: This guided meditation below will guide you through the steps to access your intuition and connect with the angels. The script is in my book: Chakra Healing & Magick. Read it and learn to ground and clear your energy for clearer messages.

The Archangels of Magic, Mystery and Beauty

Today we are going to talk some more about the Archangels! Just to recap, the Archangels are higher up on the angelic hierarchy. They each intervene in different spheres of life, whether it's communication, motherhood, ecology, healing or helping us find our life purpose.

There are at least 7 to 12 archangels depending on who we ask, but likely many more than that. I tend to connect with six or seven of them regularly in meditations. Last week we discussed the main four: Archangels Michael, Raphael, Gabriel and Uriel - known as the Protector, the Healer, the Messenger and Spiritual Guide (Part 1)

Today we are moving on to the next group - the archangels of magic, mystery and beauty in life!

  • Archangel Haniel - The Feminine Healer. Haniel has lovely, soft energy. She’s also a healer, like Archangel Raphael and we can call on both of them to balance our masculine and feminine sides. Haniel’s energy is very gentle, like moonlight. We can ask her for help understanding our emotions, developing our intuition and working with lunar cycles in. I tend to feel her energy as silver with a little bit of pink. She’s a Star.
  • Archangel Jophiel - The Angel of Beauty. Jophiel can help us bring more beauty into our life, especially into our thoughts, speech and feelings. He can teach us to recognize beauty inside and out. I like to call Jophiel he teaches us to appreciate imperfect beauty, as well as beauty that is not so obvious in today’s “media driven” world. I first sensed Jophiel’s energy during one of my Reiki Attunements. One of the Tibetan Master symbols has a strong artistic feel to it and I sensed Jophiel’s presence at that point. He is an Artist.
  • Archangel Raziel - The Keeper of Secrets. He’s the angel for mystics, manifestations, and secrets revealed. Raziel is said to be the “guardian” of the Tree of Life. Raziel can teach us about the laws of cause and effect, and manifestation. But he lets the secrets out of the bag only when we’re ready for them. And when our heart and our intentions are pure so that we only use his knowlegde for the highest good.

The idea is to get to know the Archangel individually so that we can reach out to them when we need their help. I find that they work as a team, but it can be very supportive and comforting to sense their individual energies. You will also get an idea of where you’re stuck, by who shows up when you ask for help. If you would like to connect with them personally, the meditation below introduces Archangel Haniel 💖

Take turns reaching out to your guardian angel and to the archangels. Once you become familiar with their energy, you’ll notice them when you’re out and about. They love popping around to say hello!

Have a lovely week!

Introducing the Archangels - Part 1

Today we’re going to talk about Archangels!

This is a follow up from last week’s radio show where we learned how to open up and sense our angels. I like to connect with the Archangels as well as with my Guardian Angel. Think of the Archangels as beings with extra oomph!

There are at least seven Archangels, each with it’s own specialty, whether it’s grief counselling, healing, children, the animal and plant kingdoms or life purpose. We can ask them for help when we’re stuck in a particular area of our life. There are at least 7 Archangels: today we'll cover the first four on the list:

  • Archangel Michael - The Soldier: may be the most popular archangel these days. He’s the patron saint of armies, soldiers, police and servicemen and women. We can call on him for courage, protection or an extra oomph. You can also ask him to clear and protect your energy. I’ve asked for his help at work, when our team was at an impasse. And would you believe it? The ball started rolling that very same day! He is great with conflict resolution too. Michael is often seen as navy blue in color.
  • Archangel Gabriel - The Messenger: He is known for stimulating communication, creative expression and fertility. I'm not particularly religious but I have heard the Bible story where an angel appeared and told Mary and Joseph that they'd have a special baby.  Also, some people see Gabriel as more of a female energy (though angels aren't really male or female, strictly speaking. Gabriel is related to both the Throat and Sacral chakras because of their creative and vocal applications.
  • Archangel Raphael – The Healer: Ask for his help with healing on any level. He can also intervene on your behalf with your medical doctors, to help them be at their sharpest and most intuitive. If you ask! Raphael has strong male energy. During healing sessions, I tend to call on both Archangel Raphael and Archangel Hanael. Both healers. Hanael’s energy is very feminine, and working with both angels can help us balance our masculine and feminine sides. We’ll talk about her next week! She is connected to healing, intuition and moon energy.
  • Archangel Uriel - The GPS Angel: Uriel guides us towards our life purpose. He is responsible for lucky coincidences. His energy is faint, hard to discern. It might help to ask him for a visual cue. Take that as a sign that he’s around. In psychic school we asked for Gold Ringlets. =)

So those are the main archangels! Michael, Raphael, Gabriel, and Uriel. We can connect with them directly in guided meditations, such as the ones on my YouTube Channel. Here is one with Archangel Rafael:

It helps if we take turns reaching out to our guardian angel and to the archangels. Once you become familiar with their energy, you will notice them when you are out and about. They love popping around to say hello =)

You'll find meditations with each of them on Youtube HERE.

Reiki hugs,

Regina
