We are bigger than our egos

Lately, I’ve been thinking about why the world is so dysfunctional. Two things come to mind - faulty egos, where one person feels like they have to one-up another, and second, the possibility of losing our security, financial or otherwise. Both of these are important but the first can be addressed with energy healing, so I’m going to focus my attention on that one - integrating and redirecting the ego’s energy.

I've been giving this a lot of thought recently, and I believe that most of the damage caused by humans can be explained by two big factors:

  • Faulty Egos & Emotional Pain, where one person has to outperform another to feel good about themselves. They might have childhood trauma that makes them feel inferior, hurt, angry or vengeful. Those core wounds lead to actions that harm others in ways that are unnecessary - whether it's a snide comment or something more direct. The faulty ego might get pleasure from feeling superior, but that satisfaction is filtered through a wound. Pain is on background refresh; any efforts to do well suffer because of it. Everyone loses.
  • Fear of Loss / Scarcity. It's assuming that there aren't enough opportunities for everyone to win at life. This might be literal - not enough money, or psychological (not enough praise, which brings us back to the first point; a damaged ego). For example, if one restauranteur opens a sushi restaurant and gets lots of good reviews, another chef might feel like they will lose customers. To be honest, this is based on real-life economic conditions and it’s a healthy human response. Competition is normal - a necessary survival mechanism, but my intuition tells me that aggressive competition and defensiveness happen because most of us are not aligned with our uniqueness or our vision. This is what I learned in business school too - differentiate your biz, your personality and your products. From a spiritual point of view, there is a part of your soul that taps into your life purpose and what no one else can match.

Healing your ego might involve integrating an overblown ego that pushes people away, but it could also be a dysfunctional ego that makes a person act small or insecure.

We want to assert ourselves, without going overboard and wreaking havoc on other people’s lives. One of the biggest takeaways is needing to set that boundary yourself; long term peace and stability is found when everyone thrives. Pluto in Libra generation here ♎️

The Ego is not Bad

>> We all have egos, and to quote a psychologist friend, you need your ego to prop you up and give you strength. Don’t get rid of your ego, heal and integrate it.

Read my books to heal yourself and join me on YouTube for meditations. I also offer healing sessions. A lot of self-healing is about developing confidence in yourself and releasing beliefs that paint you into a corner, beliefs about yourself and the world.

Heal yourself 💜💜💜💜

When I’ve done meditations to strengthen my sense of security, my intuition points me to this matrushka metaphor. Your full / higher self is a lot bigger than your ego / human self. And there is a part of us that has infinite growth potential. That said, I’m still a work in progress (aren’t we all), but today I asked for guidance. This is it.

Integrating the Solar Eclipse: Your Cosmic Blind Spot

So this is going to be a short post but it’s the biggest aha moment of my life. I just realized that the biggest downfall of my prenatal solar eclipse in Leo - my cosmic blindspot - is that I am often the last person to see myself and realize how talented, creative, capable and fun I am ❤️😻

Instead, I tend to be too critical of what I do, which is also reflected in my natal chart.

The prenatal eclipses are the ones that happened when we were in the womb - the solar eclipse is your mission in life. It’s what you’re here to learn and teach by example. A mission that you can’t fail, but if you integrate it, you’ll have a much better time. Jan Spiller has a great book on this called Spiritual Astrology. The lunar eclipse tells us where we can grow through enjoyment - mine is in Pisces and I have had the best time exploring my intuition.

The blindspot and/or gift varies by sign. With the solar eclipse in Leo - which is the sun/ego/self-love, my blind spot is myself.

If your solar eclipse were in Gemini or Sagittarius, you might not be able to see life from other people’s perspectives and get stuck in your own. In Capricorn, the blind spot could be on the value and result of all your hard work. If it’s in Pisces - you might have to work harder to access your intuition. The cool thing is that astrology shows us our blind spots and our talents. It’s a map.

In the past, I’ve blogged about how the humble and self-critical sign of Virgo overwhelms my natal chart - with three heavy planets and also black moon Lilith: your greatest fear and your hidden power. Lilith in Virgo has a deep fear of failure, specifically, of not being up to par.

The upside is that Lilith in Virgo drives you to over prepare so that you can’t fail. In my case, to take tons of classes, when maybe a dozen would have been enough. The one time that I got a bad grade in grad school was due to absentmindedness; I thought I was in a different subject and solved for the wrong answer on the final exam 😂

.>> It’s the part of me that made me think I needed more degrees. I almost enrolled in a masters in counseling psychology to feel more solid, but I’m an energy healer and that is enough (as my career - I do think therapy is super useful and necessary). And I would have loved the degree, I still want to study psychology, in less depth. To be honest, curiosity keeps me on this path.

So now I feel like I am over prepared and ready to talk about all things mystical, when all I really needed to do was enjoy the journey and have fun. I’ve always been more than good enough. You are too.

Ready to join me on this adventure?

You’ll find a write-up of my first clairvoyance class HERE. And read my book, Chakra Healing & Magick - both of my eclipses in one! The book is on energy healing and intuition, not astrology. Check out the menu bar on my blog for an introduction to natal astrology. Read your own chart!

Raise your vibes with goddess energy (the hermetic books)

I love reading up on different themes and seeing how it all comes together; it’s not surprising as I majored in Philosophy (Tufts ‘02). That probably explains this blog 👀

Last year, I started reading the Hermetic books from the 2nd to 4th centuries, which are attributed to the greek Hermes Trismegistus. Believe it or not, the original set doesn’t mention the Kybalion (the 7 manifesting principles); those were channeled 1,500 years later. Instead, it’s a dissertation on the origins of the Universe, humanity’s place in it, and how we can practice meditation to connect with the divine. The first part looks at astrology; that was my favorite chapter. For the purpose of this blog, it tells us that when we meditate on the image of a god (or a goddess), that deity pulls us up, closer to his or her level.

The books read as a dialogue between Hermes and his teacher, in the style of the Greek philosophers that we read at school. Hermes is given that visualization, but we can all apply it. My gut feeling is that we can then vibrate in harmony with that goddess, radiating light out to earth in unison. Rather than ask for miracles and everyday goodies, let’s climb that ladder and manifest it for ourselves, as part of a dynamic duo. We always get what we give - let’s send love, joy and abundance to everyone.

Heal the world too 🌺🌺🌺

Kabbalistically, the world’s dysfunction and chaos end (in part) when we reclaim our feminine energy, raising it to the same level of importance as the masculine. It’s a ladder of awareness that we climb through meditation and grounding, and it takes us out of a mental framework where zero-sum games rule. Your Higher Self is halfway up that ladder. Intuition opens the door 👉🏻 Intuitive Meditations HERE.

Kabbalah speaks of 10 spheres of Light - the 3rd one down from the top is the divine feminine. The 10th, where we live and breathe, has a strong feminine energy energy that protects us - it’s a reflection of that third sphere. Both spheres are represented by the Hebrew letter Hei; meditating on or visualizing that letter is one way to bridge the gap, especially if you're not into goddess figures. I have an inkling that Mary Magdalene can also help us navigate the intermediate spheres. Those are spheres that we interact with on a daily basis through our mind and emotions.

>> Connect with Mary Magdalene to activate your Causal Chakra and Earth Star Chakra. These energy centers give us the grounding to stay firmly in this world, as we develop an intuitive connection with the realms that follow. The Causal Chakra was covered in my angel intuition classes. It’s one of the chakras that sits in the Aura.

I began connecting with Mary Magdalene this year after a trip to London when her image popped up everywhere. My intuition tells me that the balancing of masculine and feminine polarities has to happen in the same framework where we lost it, so that it takes root in the unconscious (especially for us women). Otherwise it’s like you have to leave home to feel valued and accepted. That points me to Catholicism & Mary.

Goddess figures are present in many cultures but their psychology and energy vibe shifts based on their concept. Choose the one that feels right for you. I don’t necessarily see Mary Magdalene as a goddess, but as a crossing guard and guide. Feminine energy rising 🌺

Crystals, Reiki and a Flower Disaster

I had a crazy experience with crystals nine years ago and I forgot to blog about it. Here it goes! I bought a handful of stones in a museum shop. Most crystals have great energy to begin with, and I do clear them before activating them. But on my way home, I took a carnelian out of the bag and held it in my palm. It didn’t seem happy.

My hand stung after a while; it felt like the crystal was angry. Instead of clearing and keeping it, I decided to return it to nature. Burying crystals is a great way to clear their energy. But I just happened to walk past a huge flowerbed, and without thinking, I tossed it right into the flowers.

Three days later I walked past the flowers and they were all drooping. The flowerbed was about 6 feet wide and the whole thing looked terrible. I felt awful - so I gave the flowers Reiki for a few minutes and left. It didn’t help. A friend joined me later that week and we spent a lot of time sending healing to the flowers. When I checked again, everything was back to normal!

Lately, I have been thinking about this experience and how crystals, Reiki and water can help us bloom. Also, how the effects of energy healing are not purely psychological or based on belief. After this experience, I’d say that it doesn’t matter if we connect with energy healing logically or not. Let’s give ourselves the chance to receive light and bloom.

Visualize white light radiating through your aura and your water. And yes, clear your crystals before connecting with them.

And read my book, Chakra Healing & Magick, for crystals, energy healing and other kinds of magick. I published the book a year or so after the experience that I have described here. You’ll find a flower mandala on the cover; the idea is to channel energy healing and let yourself bloom!

The book is available on Amazon, now in Spanish too! 👉🏻 Bookstore Here

Pluto: Power to the People

I made minor edits to my book this week, Chakra Healing & Magick. Two small things that niggled at me since publishing in 2016, and one conceptual reframing. The book prompts self-reflection in a creative way.

Here are the changes:

Mandala's are in Chapter 3, on creative healing. They are part of Eastern religions, representing the divine, and the sphere of influence of a particular deities, such as Tara, the female buddha of liberation and compassion. This isn’t in the book - instead, I approach mandalas as works of art that can help us heal, in line with the creative healing themes.
I have simply added a line to hint at their potential. We can draw new realities for ourselves. Connect with your Higher Self and paint your future.

- Tarot is mentioned in Chapter 4, in the section on clairvoyance and the Brow Chakra. In the book, I suggest learning tarot by starting with the Minor Arcana - giving tips on how to use them, without going into the meaning of individual cards. I left a hook open though, telling people to set the Major Arcana to one side. Then I forgot to tell the reader to come back to them (not a huge deal). The 22 Major Arcana cards are very important for magick and energy healing.

Btw - I love this deck! Much brighter and based on the classic Rider Waite.

- I have rewritten the introduction to crystals, talking about the shadow and how we need to accept it to channel all of our power. This topic figures heavily on my blog, but I hadn't included it in the book. It is massively important. No power means no magick, and no traction with everyday life.

Tarot shines a light on the shadow.  All of the energy healing tools in the book will heal and integrate the shadow, but crystals are ruled by Pluto, so they go deep ...

Lastly, this is a magick book, not an energy healing book - it's taken me this long to realize it. Pluto rules magick, personal power, transformation and healing on the deepest levels. Pluto is officially in Chakra Healing & Magick, and in Aquarius too.

My intuition tells me that the highest vibration of power is joy - it’s being able to create the life you want to live. And being able to help others. The lowest expression is seeking power over others; that stems from an unhealthy and dysfunctional ego.

Heal your ego and integrate your shadow. Check out my energy healing books ❤️

Reiki hugs,
