Have You Met Archangel Michael?

When I moved to London, I'd go for a jog in the park (OK, a brisk walk) and I’d ask the angels to join me. The main four, to begin with; I spent a lot of time getting to know them before venturing onto to meet the rest. Archangel Michael was first on the list.

There are more angels than we could ever hope to identify and at least 12 archangels overseeing the rest. Each of the archangels has a sphere of influence. In school we learned to connect with Archangel Michael first, the angel of protection and courage. He sends the archangels that are best suited to help us. In my experience, even if we ask for one archangel, several show up!

Laying the Foundations

Connecting with the archangels can be intense because the aim is to create shifts in our lives. Archangel Michael teaches us to ground and shield our personal energy before meditating, so that we can receive clear and specific guidance from above.

My Chakra Healing & Magick book goes through this process in detail.

We can all tap into our intuition. Chapter 1 covers grounding, clearing and shielding our energy before accessing our intuition. Chapters 5 and 6 then look at energy healing and psychic development, including tools to connect with the angels for support and creative guidance. Taking advantage of life’s many opportunities often requires courage and action; energy healing gives us tools to work through our fears and insecurities. While some of the angels can be soft, Archangel Michael is more likely to push you out of your comfort zone.

This meditation will enable you connect with Archangel Michael directly. It is fast-paced: as the angel of Fire, he fills us with courage, confidence and willingness to take action.

Ready to go deeper?

Chakra Healing & Magick goes into energy healing, intuition and a variety of creative prompts. Archangel Jophiel is one of my favorites, working with creativity to change the way we see and interact with the world. Michael's blue light clears our Throat and Brow Chakras, while Jophiel's yellow light fills our power center with joy and creativity. Good to have on your team!

Manifesting with the Moon (Witchy Birthday)

Two weeks ago my cousin threw herself a "meditation" to celebrate her birthday. It coincided with the Full Moon in Pisces. There were about seven of us there, from different healing paths. The birthday girl enlisted her meditation teacher to lead the session, a healer by the name of Claudia Lechuga. We started with a group meditation where we visualised the birthday girl filled with love and all sorts of blessings. Then we went onto do individual contemplation, thinking what we’d like to manifest in our own lives.

The evening was beautiful, we began with a Full Moon meditation that opened us up to receive.  Both Kabbalah and renaissance astrology tell us that the universe’s gifts come to us through the Moon. No wonder witches and healers have been feeling the pull for centuries. My cousin’s birthday was on the Full Moon, so we set the intention to release any psychological or emotional blocks that keep us from receiving abundance. Had it been a New Moon, we would have set the intention for blessings to grow over time. When the meditation was done, we planted the flower seeds in my cousin’s garden, burying our citrine crystals with the seeds. Funny thing is my cousin liked the huge citrine that I had planned on burying, and she asked me if she could keep it. I planted a small citrine tumbled stone that she gave me instead.

It was nice to meet a group of healers that night; it’s one of the things I have missed.

Reiki hugs,

Regina

The Wizards Tarot, by Corrine Kenner [Review}

I am so excited to tell you about this fantastic deck, The Wizards Tarot by Corrine Kenner. I stumbled across this gem a few months ago and I can’t put it down. It's based on the standard structure and themes of tarot so you have your Cups, your Wands, your Swords and your Pentacles as well as the Major Arcana. This last one is my favorite part of the Wizards Tarot.

We use the Major Arcana to trace our journey through life, coming into contact with the big archetypes like the Magician, the Emperor the Tower or the Hanged Man. The main difference here (and it's a biggie) is that instead of illustrating the Fools Journey, we follow a student of magic and mystery as he makes the rounds with his professors. Each of the characters in Major Arcana are faculty members at the Mandrake Academy. You'll get the insight you expect from tarot as well as lessons in subjects like astrology, herbal healing, runes, divination and crystal healing for example. I think it will take me at least a year to read the book and put all of these fun lessons to practice. So much to learn!

These are just some examples:

The Empress still represents fertility, giving birth to your dreams or to a baby. But here the Empress is also the Professor of Herbal Magic. We can go with the traditional meaning or turn to the guidebook for a very thorough introduction to herbal magic and plant healing. The images are also incredibly beautiful, with lots of symbolism and meanings.

The Star tells us that all is well, to trust the divine plan. And she is also the teacher of Astrology, giving us a complete rundown of what we can find in our birth charts, including planets, stars and houses. If astrology is something you want to delve into, Kenner published a book called Astrology & Tarot that is also a fantastic read (love them both).

The Hanged Man tells us to pause for a moment and see things from a different perspective. This is actually one of my favorite images, as he's sitting right side up (not hanging upside down) now that he's turned his life around. Here we learn to use runes for divination, insight & manifesting. We can use this deck to give readings based on the traditional imagery and themes of tarot, while discovering healing, astrology, divination and manifesting at the same time.

There are twenty-two cards in the Major Arcana, lots to learn! We also get a special treat from the Minor Arcana. There is a “practical magic” spin to all of the element cards (wands, cups, earth and swords), so that you can focus on a particular card to shape your future, etc. I am just getting to know the cards and I would recommend them 100%. The iPhone apps are also fantastic, complete with a tarot reading tutorial by a company called The Fool's Dog. I couldn't resist getting both versions!
