An Experience with Crystals and Chemotherapy

Last December, someone very near and dear to me was diagnosed with breast cancer. She had surgery to remove the tumor and began six months of chemotherapy to reduce the risk of it coming back in the future. My cousin and I went to the hospital to give her energy healing before the surgery.

In healing school, we learned a technique called Medical Intuition that involves communicating with the body to ask what might be going on behind the scenes. Another aspect involves explaining medical procedures to the physical body before they take place, with the intent to minimise shock and assist with recovery. This happens intuitively during the energy healing session.

Energy Healing Before Surgery

As always, I called on the archangels for help during the session. At one point, I was trying to run through the surgery mentally and I felt Archangel Raphael's presence, suggesting that I didn't know the specifics and that he could explain. So I pulled back, holding my hands around the outside of her Aura and letting him take over.

All in all, we had three people giving Healing before she went into the operating room: my cousin, myself and the patient as she had previously been attuned to Reiki. One of my favorite healing tools are crystals, and wands in particular because we can use them to gently massage the chakras during a healing session.

That day I took a Selenite wand with me to the hospital. The translucent white stone is one of my favorites because its energy is very similar to the white light (Divine Light) that we channel during healing sessions. It makes it easier for us to feel the archangels around us, including their love & support.

The patient held it in her hands and massaged her Solar Plexus while the rest of us gave her Energy Healing. This particular chakra is where we feel anxiety; the idea was to help her relax before surgery with Energy Healing & crystals.

A Magical Experience with Crystals

She seemed to like the wand so much, that the next day I gave her a brand new one. She used it throughout her recovery and six months of chemotherapy. The amazing thing about crystals is that we can fill them with Reiki or Light and then give ourselves healing by holding it or with a little massage. Over time, crystals can start to show striations on the inside, as the crystal's energy shifts when it works hard.

Last month I went to see her at the hospital for her last chemotherapy session; the 16th in six months. When we started chatting, she pulled out the Selenite wand and pointed out what looked like bright white loops and lines. It looked like someone had switched on a light in the crystal.

She was surprised because she hadn't dropped the wand, keeping it tucked safely in a case when she wasn't using it. I explained the bit about how crystals appear to crack or lose their color when we use them a lot. She laughed and put it back under her quilts, holding it in her hands during chemo...

Thirty minutes later, her eyes opened wide and she pulled the wand out from under the covers. It had fallen apart in her hands, splitting into 5 separate pieces along the same lines that we had seen inside the Selenite crystal.

We were both really surprised and happy. We took it to mean that she wouldn't need that crystal anymore. It had been there for the duration of the cancer treatment, from the first days of recovery and through 16 chemotherapy sessions, only to fall apart on her last day at the hospital as a patient.

It was the most beautiful experience that I have witnessed with a crystal, and there have been many over the past few years since I began collecting them.

Please share your experiences with crystals in the comment box below!

Do assumptions get in the way of our Intuition?

A few years ago I attended a fantastic Medical Intuition workshop. It was during my student days at the School of Intuition and Healing and our tutor, Sue Allen, taught us how to connect with the Chakras and the organs. It sounds crazy but the body has messages for us - most of the day we carried out hands-on-healing sessions where we would silently chat with our classmates body. So for example, you could ask the liver what their diet was like and if they had too much (or not enough) of a particular food. The cool thing about this, was you could check your answers with your classmate when the session was over. I sensed that she didn't eat red meat and her liver craved it, only to discover that my classmate was a staunch vegetarian during the feedback session. She reacted strongly to the suggestion and we left it at that.

Then she tuned into my energy, and it threw her off completely. Believe it or not, my favorite foods are cheeseburgers, potato chips, salads, and veggies. When she asked what I had too much of, she saw brown liquids like coffee and soda. Her assumptions about me as a "Healer" kicked in and she thought - no, Regina can't eat like this! One more food item came up as a question mark: tomatoes. Was I supposed to stop eating tomatoes? We laughed about it afterwards because I really do love veggies and chips in equal measure. I used to drink loads of soda and coffee and I love tomatoes. The tomato threw us off - it's a veggie and why would it come up as problematic? It had both of us stumped.

Four years later I finally have the answer. I went to the doctor with a chronic sore throat, thinking I'd have my tonsils removed. Instead, I have been put on a diet to calm down my digestive system: no more coffee, no spicy food (torture for a Mexican), fizzy drinks, fatty or fried foods, chocolate, nuts or nut butters, citrus, oranges, grapefruits, and no raw tomatoes. The funny thing is I walked past Starbucks on my way into the doctor's office and I had planned on grabbing a latte when I was done. It's been a month now and I'm getting used to my bland diet. I used to carry either chili powder or hot sauce with me everywhere I went, so I'm not all that surprised. The thing that made me laugh were the tomatoes, of course. I finally understood my classmates vision, who knew?!? Anyhooo, read about the Medical Intuition class here. Tomorrow I'm attending an astral traveling class, so next week's posts should be fun!

Color Healing Meditation (1/2)

Last week I discussed Medical Intuition and how listening can be a powerful healing tool. The idea is to communicate with our cells, organs or even with our Chakras to find out what the body needs. Are we pushing ourselves too hard or not enough? Is your diet optimal? Maybe you need more sleep or more exercise to feel energized. A simple meditation can give us the answers. By listening to the body's intuitive messages open ourselves up to receive intuitive guidance from our Soul. Those messages can appear as feelings or physical sensations.

Along these lines, I would like to share an excerpt from my book, A Personal Guide to Self-Healing, Cancer & Love. This particular passage is on Color Visualization, a tool that we can easily combine with Medical Intuition and healing to make the listening process easier.

Color Healing and Visualization
“One of my favorite healing techniques involves visualizing colorful energy in the body and the Aura. I sit in a quiet place and use my mind’s eye to scan for any energy that feels out of place, slow or tense. When I find an area that I want to work on, I use my imagination to give it a color. This makes it easier to identify the emotion that is held in that part of the body. For example, if I see or feel the color blue in my shoulder it could represent an undercurrent of sadness. The healing involves asking what this blue represents. The subconscious answers the question with an intuitive thought or feeling. The location in the body can also give clues. For example: The sadness might be in my shoulder because I did not reach out for help. We can work on releasing the color with a simple meditation.

Color Healing Meditations involve bringing your attention to the color and letting yourself feel it. Because the meditation is done with the intent to heal, merely directing your attention to the color will bring the consciousness of healing to that part of your body. You may start to notice intuitive thoughts, emotions and feelings. Memories might also surface and this is part of the process. It helps to observe the feelings, bless them with love and let them go. When that is done, bring your attention back to the color and visualize it filling with white or pink light. The light dissolves the color and releases the emotion from the body so that your personal energy can flow freely again. The meditation can be used on any part of the body, the Chakras or the Aura. It can also be used to visualize the tumor as a color and dissolve the emotional energy it holds.

It is worth noting that the same color can represent different things to different people. For example, grey often signals apathy to me. If I notice grey in a Healee’s Solar Plexus I would take it to mean they are apathetic about taking control of their life, as the Solar Plexus is the personal power center. For others it might represent the qualities of iron. They might sense grey energy in their Healee’s Solar Plexus and take it to mean that they are extremely strong. The person who sees the color relies on their intuition to interpret it. Colors are not inherently good or bad, they are just signals from the subconscious. No matter what color we see or feel, it can be healed and released using the same guided meditation. It is important that we embrace whatever we find, even if it makes us feel uncomfortable. Fill it with light and let the power of love heal it.”

You can also put colored pencil to paper and draw your Aura as you'd like to see it. Your intuition will give you the colored blueprint for perfect health, so color your heart away and keep it as a Colorful Vision Board. Let your intuition guide you as you engage with psychic art and healing in a fun way. It's also great to reconnect with our Inner Child through crayons and paper. Let your imagination be your guide!

A Case Study in Medical Intuition

Medical Intuition was one of my favourite subjects at the School of Intuition & Healing. As crazy as it may sound, the idea is to communicate with the body by asking questions and listening for a response. Our organs, Chakras and even our cells can be incredibly chatty. The liver will dish on the client's diet, too much of this and not enough of that. The pituitary gland can give us a rundown on the endocrine system.

We find aspects of our personalities in the different organs. Torn between following your Heart and your sense of duty? Your Chakras may reflect that tension. We also learned that the body can tell us what happened in a person's life to trigger feelings of sadness, confusion or loss. Medical Intuition is about listening as a healing tool. We coax the body into revealing pockets of energy that need healing, ideally before they manifest as a physical imbalance. You can do it yourself.

As an intuitive healer, it's not uncommon for me to notice these pockets of energy during sessions with clients. To use an example from my book on Self-Healing, Cancer & Love, a few years ago I had a young man come to see me for healing. Whenever I tuned into his energy I was immediately drawn to his Heart Chakra, even though he had come in for a different reason. In Healing School we learned to use the left hand for listening and the right for healing.

A Case Study from School

Holding my left hand just a few inches away from the client’s body, I asked his Heart Chakra to open up, telepathically of course! The images that came to mind led me to believe that he had deep rooted feelings of anger and disappointment towards his parents, all of that energy had been stored in his emotional heart. I thanked his body for sharing these impressions and sent healing to his emotional body.

After the session I asked about the relationship with his parents. It turns out that as a child, he had been pulled into their custody battles. The experience caused a lot of pain and even though a decade had passed, it could still be felt in his energy field. It's worth mentioning that these feelings were stored in his emotional body, not the physical. We worked on healing and releasing this energy over the next few weeks. I’d like to believe that energy healing helped him stay ahead of the curve. We can all use energy healing, meditation and other tools to put these experiences behind us.

Next week I'll post a short Color Healing Meditation to get you started. It's quite simple and we can all tune into our body for answers. The idea is to combine energy healing with conventional medicine and lifestyle changes for a comprehensive approach to health and wellbeing. If you'd like to learn more please see here for A Personal Guide to Self-Healing, Cancer & Love. My Thoughts on Pancreatic Cancer

In energy healing school, we learned that our experiences, emotions and reactions are held in the body. If we don't deal with certain experiences, they upset our personal energy. In some cases we may feel the effects physically. This theory resonated and my thoughts turned to a family friend who was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer. This post goes beyond biology to explore the Mind-Body-Spirit connection.

Please note: Energy Healing is not a substitute for medical care.

Here are my thoughts on energy healing and pancreatic cancer:

  • The body feels the full range of emotions ranging from stress, tension and anxiety to joy and laughter. Positive emotions flow through our system freely while those at the negative end of the spectrum often need to be released consciously. How does your body react to stress: hunched shoulders, tense back, upset stomach, etc? It is widely accepted that the body retains these emotions and that we need to let them go - often by self-healing.
  • When a person holds onto anger, fear or sadness, those emotions sit in the body. I believe buried anger and resentment to be emotional risk factors for some types of cancer and that with time, holding onto this energy takes it's toll on the physical body. In my view, the problem is that most of us were not given the tools to understand and heal our emotions on a daily basis, instead leaving them to simmer. Energy healing can help us bring about peace, forgiveness and relaxation; in this way Energy healing complements medical care.
  • In the case of pancreatic cancer the energy healing session would focus on the Heart Chakra. This energy center is known for universal love: how we feel about our parents, siblings and close friends. If someone dear to our heart is harmed, or if they betray us, it can be very hard to heal and move on. Disappointments of this kind are said to leave an emotional mark on the pancreas because it is so close to the heart (love).
  • The aim of energy healing is to help the patient heal on a subconscious level, while making it easier for them to relax and release stress. Energy Healing and Reiki can bring about peace; they are complementary to medical care, not alternative.

A Personal Guide to Self-Healing, Cancer & Love

Update: My first book is a personal guide for families that are dealing with cancer, looking primarily at energy healing and meditation. Simple tools that the whole family can benefit from.

I wrote this book, trying to make sense of my family’s experience with cancer. The techniques in this book are complementary to medical care, not alternative. Self-healing here refers to spiritual, emotional, and energetic practices to support well-being. It is not a treatment.

Below you'll find a meditation that makes it easier for us to release stress, tension and worry with guided visualization. The more we meditate, the easier it becomes for us to relax and clear our body and Aura. Think of your Aura, or energy field, as the the projection of your thoughts and feelings. We all benefit from meditation, regardless of our attitudes towards energy healing.
