Connect with Archangel Raziel

I have been meaning to upload a meditation with Archangel Raziel for months and last night I finally got around to it! It was worth the wait - the angel of the stars always has a mystical surprise for us.

Archangel Raziel is the angel of astrology and mysticism. He is most often mentioned in kabbalistic texts. I learned to connect with him in the weekly meditations that I used to attend at my psychic school in London. At the time I was thinking about taking Kabbalah classes and in the meditations with Raziel, I kept seeing spheres of light. These were hints of the Tree of Life

I also wanted to find a visual tool that would help me organize the different things that I was studying; I found it in the tarot deck that’s mentioned in the livestream.

Planets & Numerology with Dalia Siman

Last year I signed up for an amazing numerology and planets class. It was taught by Dalia Siman, a healer, numerologist, naam yogi, kabbalist and all-round fabulous teacher based in Mexico (dalsiman@gmail.com) Her class lasted seven weeks and it took me almost that long to wrap my head around the various topics and how they all come together.

The Seven Traditional Planets:

I'm an astrology geek so this is what drew me to the class in the first place. Dalia talked us through the numerology of our birth date and how the day, month and year can pinpoint the planets that are most influential in our personalities and lives.

For example, I was born on a Wednesday, the day that is assigned to Mercury (the planet of communication, learning styles and other fun intellectual and self-expression pursuits). Mercury is the energy that radiates from my Heart, which is lovely, because Archangel Michael is also associated with Mercury on the Kabbalistic Tree of Life and I've always felt like he is my angel - the angel of courage, because in all honesty, I often take convincing... =)

The planet that rules my spirit is Venus, based on the year I was born, and a number of other planets are key players. The funny thing for me was that I have also studied my birth chart thoroughly, and the planets that came up using Dalia's numerology coincide with the planets that rule my Ascendant, Sun and Moon if I look at my natal chart (as well as planets that aspect my natal Sun).

Using two completely different methodologies gave the same result. I also noticed that I have the same gaps - notably Jupiter who seems to be missing from my life (although its absence is also its presence, as I have been reading up on philosophy and spirituality for almost seventeen years - sigh).

Practical Tools To Find Balance

For each of the planets that rule our life, Dalia told us how to identify whether we were leaning towards a healthy expression of its energy, or a stagnant expression. So for example, Mercury is a quick moving planet and when a person has lots of Mercury in their numerology, an unbalanced expression could be the inability to sit still. They might run from one place to the next, and eventually they run low on their supply of energy. If we look at Traditional Chinese Medicine, this over-activity can have a negative impact on our kidneys, which are said to regulate our personal bank of energy. I know of one Wednesday child who had kidney stones, and she fits the description above - is that a coincidence?

For each of the planets, Dalia gave us yoga poses, mantras and physical exercises to balance the expression in our lives. I like this approach, and it fits well with some of the behavioural psychology that we find in Jan Spiller's astrology books (my fave when it comes to the planets & the zodiac).

I mention this because Dalia also gives readings, and her approach is unique. Up until now I had come across angel, tarot and intuitive readings that often give similar points of view. Dalia's style is methodical and fact based and that makes it easier for us to put it to work in our lives. Drop her an email: dalsiman@gmail.com - highly recommended!

Your Personal Pentagram

One of the things that we learned was how we each have a planetary pentagram with points representing our spirit, our daily approach to life, your karma, destiny and our gifts. (I should also mention that Dalia is a student of the kabbalist Dr Joseph Michael Levry, who can be found at www.rootlight.com)

I won't go into the details so as not to overwhelm, but as I'm at a crossroads, I wanted to use tarot to ask what I can do to activate each of these energies. Today I used the pentagram as a layout for my personal reading and got these cards:

The Wizards Tarot by Corrine Kenner

Note: I chose Corrine Kenner's deck for this reading because the cards include references to Kabbalah. If you read her Astrology & Tarot book, you will find the Tree of Life - a wonderful resource!

Top Card - Ace of Pentacles

This represents Venus in my pentagram, and the card that came up was the Ace of Pentacles. A new beginning that will bring security and lots of growth. It makes total sense as I am job/life hunting right now ;)

Top Left - The Seven of Wands:

This placement represents the energy that we bring to our daily life. The Seven of Wands is about making an effort to push through and get what you want (it corresponds to Mars in Leo, which is all about using competition to shine). This is actually the card that represents the opposite of my Sun Sign, the traits that we don't draw on quite that often...

Bottom Left - The Alchemist:

This is what Karma teaches, and this card is about patience and not rushing it. The zodiac sign on the card, Sagittarius, is  also about long distance travel so it could mean working abroad or with foreigners here in Mexico. Either option would be fun for me =)

Bottom Right - Page of Fire

This is where we are headed; the card resonates with the planet Mars, for action and for taking steps forward. I see this as getting back into a bit of a pressure cooker and coming out alright with more ideas, leadership and a bit of character.

Top Right - The Sun

This is the gift from the Universe to help us out -. Here I pulled the Sun which is just wonderful. So right now I don't know exactly where I am going to end up (work or country wise) but wherever I go, it will be sunny and warm figuratively speaking. And it might be here in Mexico (hopefully).

Middle Card - The Moon:

The center card which speaks to the Heart in the pentagram I chose deliberately because today the Moon is in Cancer, and the card represents the Moon. The question was: what is going on and how will I arrive at my "heart's desires" and this series of cards was the reply. I quite like the result!

Of course, in class Dalia taught us how to use numerology to ascertain the planet that corresponds to each of these placements in our personal pentagram. We then use the numbers and mantras to activate the energy. It's pretty cool - see for yourself!

Reiki hugs,

Regina

What is Your Spiritual Path?

Every now and then I do Interactive Tarot Readings on my Diary of a Psychic Healer Facebook Page. It is a fun and easy way for everyone to receive guidance. We meditate on a question and then choose three icons to receive a personalized message. The theme this week was evolution on our spiritual path!

Please look at the picture below and choose three icons to represent Past, Present and Future where spirituality and consciousness are concerned. The cards were drawn for some of my favourite decks.

Choose Three Icons And
Scroll Down for the Meanings!

Wizards Tarot by Corrine Kenner. Today's card is the Two of Cups. In this deck we see a young boy and a young girl drinking from silver goblets. The youthful looks and innocence stand out; this card is about a pure heart that just wants to connect with others through the spiritual realm. Everything is an adventure and part of a growth spurt. It's a Garden of Eden stage, one that we should enjoy as long as it lasts. Note: Click here for my review of the Wizard's Tarot deck!

Ascended Masters by Doreen Virtue. The card I pulled today is a Twin Flame card, but I'm going to read it in a way that might surprise you. I read a theory recently where our Twin Flame is really our Higher Self, that wiser part of our soul that knows who we are and what we are here to experience. If you chose this deck, it may be time to connect with your Higher Self. There is a great book by Sanaya Roman called Spiritual Growth that can help you do just that. Next January I'm starting a free study group so we can read it together, please drop by my Diary of a Psychic Healer FB Page for details.

Gaia Oracle by Toni C. Salermo. Today I pulled a card about wisdom, knowledge and spiritual understanding being aligned with Mother Earth. Take some time to ground yourself, meditate with Nature and let the plant, animal and crystal kingdoms share their secrets with you. Let us know how it goes!

Chrysalis Tarot by Toney Brooks. The card I pulled is about disillusionment on the spiritual path and my intuition tells me it's a natural part of the process. As we shed false beliefs, we are sometimes left with a hint of sadness Trust that the Universe will fill that space with a Truth that is closer to your heart and soul. You don't need a safety blanket. Take some time to meditate and feel yourself loved by "All that Is". The angels can also help us with this.

Mythic Tarot by Julia Sharman Burke. Today's card is the Three of Cups, a card about celebration, joy and social gatherings. This tells me that sharing your spiritual faith with others can bring you much joy, whether it's Christmas, Hanukkah or the Winter Solstice that warms your heart this December. It's all about community and connection.

Miracles Now by Gabby Bernstein. Today I have energy healing in the cards, as Gabby Bernstein's deck tells us that we can release ancient pain by allowing ourselves to feel it. Take a trip down memory lane, let yourself feel any emotions that may have been buried and consciously let them go. The focus is on healing with compassion.

Archangel Michael by Doreen Virtue. The card I pulled was about angelic protection and working with the angels to build our sense of trust and confidence on both physical and material levels. Though all of the cards in this deck have an angelic twist, this one encourages us to reach out to our angels, meditate with them and get to know their energies. The more familiar we are, the safer and cozier we will feel!

Angel Tarot by Doreen Virtue. Today we have the Knight of Fire! We see a  knight on horseback, ready to charge into battle. He represents our Higher or Spiritual Self, while the horse represents our human doubts and fears. This card encourages us to see our ego for what it is: a self-defense and protection mechanism, so that we can start to move beyond it when necessary. You may enjoy reading Eckhart Tolle's book A New Earth, one of my faves on this subject!

Archangel Deck by Stewart Pearce. Today's message is about Grace and how we can receive more of it in our lives. As the holidays are coming up soon, let’s think about how we can channel the quality of Grace in all of our interactions, especially where giving and receiving is concerned. Follow this link for a few ideas!

Tarot, Astrology and Birthdates (A Case Study)

I love connecting the dots and if there is one area where this OCD habit of mine comes in handy, it's Astrology and Tarot. There are Major Arcana cards for each of the signs and planets.  So for example, my Sun in Aquarius is represented by the Star in tarot; a card about listening to divine guidance and trusting that everything will be OK.

My moon in Capricorn is represented by The Devil, an energy that makes you feel like you're chained to the material world, responsibility and work. The Sun sign represents your soul's essence and journey whereas the Moon Sign represents your emotional reactions or programming; how you're wired to react. I have always felt a certain repulsion to The Devil, but I have no problem with the Star card. I actually bought a book called Tarot & Astrology by Corrine Kenner because the cover image grabbed my attention, only to discover that it corresponded to the Star card in her Wizards Tarot deck. The book is fantastic and even though it may take a while for all of the information to sink in, it will add depth to your readings.

There's one more sign that is relevant in all of our birth charts: the Ascendant. This placement refers to how we interact with the world, our user interface. I'm a Gemini Rising, so that makes me chatty and quick to jump from one place to the next (a trait that came in handy during High School; I went to four schools in three countries). The Gemini card is said to be the Lovers, about making choices and listening to that inner voice even though if I'm honest, I don't see the connection.

I mention this now because we explored birthdates in my Tarot class  (taught by Avril Price), and would you believe these cards came up again! We each have a pair of Major Arcana cards that correspond to our date of birth. So for example, if you take January 18 1978, the digits add up up to Eight (1+1+9+1+9+7+8=8), which is the Justice card. My birthday adds up to Six: The Lovers. Avril then had us pair this image up with the other Major Arcana card that would have the pair add up to twenty-one (As an aside, there are twenty-two Major Arcana cards but the Fool begins the journey at Zero, and we count to twenty-one). My birthday cards are The Lovers (6) and The Devil (15). The image is striking, like two sides of the same coin.

So how does this relate to my life? Sometimes it feels like I'm torn between hope and fear, reaching for the stars or throwing in the towel. Ultimately the cards are about choices and the emotions or reasons on which we base those choices. Our tutor implied that this could be a significant incarnation for me. There are so many ways to interpret this combination. I wonder if it is choosing one or the other, or trying to listen to both and not getting lost in either of the cards. If I add my Aquarian Star Card back into the mix, it makes me feel a lot better.

There is something about that Moon in Capricorn that still doesn't click. Maybe it's the anchor that brings me back to Earth (Capricorn is an earthy, work sign). I'm also taking a great Psychic Astrology class this term where we explore our charts intuitively every week. I'm up to my neck in stars and cards, lol, it's a lot of fun actually. Our tutor is Demian Allan, the only astrologer I've come across who teaches both the intuitive and technical sides (makes it easier when you're stepping into the signs). The Moon in Capricorn is my awkward point, something to look at. If I weren't going back to Mexico I'd sign up for Part 2. It’s like getting life coaching from someone who already knows a lot about you, to the point and very accurate.

The Wizards Tarot, by Corrine Kenner [Review}

I am so excited to tell you about this fantastic deck, The Wizards Tarot by Corrine Kenner. I stumbled across this gem a few months ago and I can’t put it down. It's based on the standard structure and themes of tarot so you have your Cups, your Wands, your Swords and your Pentacles as well as the Major Arcana. This last one is my favorite part of the Wizards Tarot.

We use the Major Arcana to trace our journey through life, coming into contact with the big archetypes like the Magician, the Emperor the Tower or the Hanged Man. The main difference here (and it's a biggie) is that instead of illustrating the Fools Journey, we follow a student of magic and mystery as he makes the rounds with his professors. Each of the characters in Major Arcana are faculty members at the Mandrake Academy. You'll get the insight you expect from tarot as well as lessons in subjects like astrology, herbal healing, runes, divination and crystal healing for example. I think it will take me at least a year to read the book and put all of these fun lessons to practice. So much to learn!

These are just some examples:

The Empress still represents fertility, giving birth to your dreams or to a baby. But here the Empress is also the Professor of Herbal Magic. We can go with the traditional meaning or turn to the guidebook for a very thorough introduction to herbal magic and plant healing. The images are also incredibly beautiful, with lots of symbolism and meanings.

The Star tells us that all is well, to trust the divine plan. And she is also the teacher of Astrology, giving us a complete rundown of what we can find in our birth charts, including planets, stars and houses. If astrology is something you want to delve into, Kenner published a book called Astrology & Tarot that is also a fantastic read (love them both).

The Hanged Man tells us to pause for a moment and see things from a different perspective. This is actually one of my favorite images, as he's sitting right side up (not hanging upside down) now that he's turned his life around. Here we learn to use runes for divination, insight & manifesting. We can use this deck to give readings based on the traditional imagery and themes of tarot, while discovering healing, astrology, divination and manifesting at the same time.

There are twenty-two cards in the Major Arcana, lots to learn! We also get a special treat from the Minor Arcana. There is a “practical magic” spin to all of the element cards (wands, cups, earth and swords), so that you can focus on a particular card to shape your future, etc. I am just getting to know the cards and I would recommend them 100%. The iPhone apps are also fantastic, complete with a tarot reading tutorial by a company called The Fool's Dog. I couldn't resist getting both versions!
