Grounding through my Merkaba Activation - Part 1

Last month I attended Awakening of the Illuminated Heart, a heart healing workshop that taught us how to connect our Brow Chakra to our Heart, so that we could see the world through our Heart and not the mind. This connection is also one that Barbara Brennan references in Hands of Light, telling us that Unconditional Love flows when both of these Chakras are open and connected. The Brow Chakra and its corresponding Aura layer make it possible for us to see the light in others, regardless of who they are to us.

The big reveal at the end of the workshop was a manifesting meditation that we can use to create images with our Heart and Mind, things that you want to bring into your life. I started out visualizing themes like healing, abundance, friendships and a completely healed and whole emotional body so that I can relate to others from a place of wholeness and not old hurts. I think I'm almost there, but there are probably a few experiences that I still need to release. Rather than carry on with the manifesting meditations, I have been connecting with my healing guides through my Heart Chakra and just chilling out. Since then my energy has been shifting in ways that I didn't expect. This is what I've noticed so far:

Grounding through the Base Chakra

I have been practicing energy healing and meditation since 2009. In the early days I was incredibly ungrounded, say 37% out of 100 (don't ask me how I got to that number as its a long story lol). Since then I have been working on grounding my energy, usually with clairsentient meditations where you run earth energy through your legs to your Base Chakra and down again. As a result, I got to be very good at grounding through my foot chakras and that's fantastic, but I still couldn't ground through my Base Chakra. We did lots of meditations in Healing School, they often began with grounding through the Base Chakra. The idea was to drop a grounding cord from the bottom of your spine (or Base) into the ground and let it sink to the center of the earth. I usually wound up grounding through my feet instead. My Base wasn't as open as my upper Chakras and I couldn't wrap my head around it. Thankfully my legs compensated for my ungrounded Base Chakra or I wouldn't have gotten very far with healing either.

The past few weeks I've noticed a change and I think it's the workshop. There was one particular meditation where the teacher guided us through activating our Merkabas (merkawhats?), which Google defines as "the divine light vehicle allegedly used by ascended masters to connect with and reach those in tune with higher realms." It's also meant to be an Ascension tool, though in my peculiar world view Ascension may very well be about grounding. In class we also learned to  program our Merkabas to speed up the earthly learning process, attracting people, events and life lessons that will help us grow (in a friendly way, I hope). I haven't been able to sense my Merkaba just yet, but I do feel a lot better, more grounded and happier since I activated it. I am not sure if the teachers intended for the Merkaba Activation to ground us, but I strayed from the meditation and activated my Base Chakra spontaneously.

This is what happened ...

A couple months ago, I was meditating at home and connecting my guides. Occasionally they give us spiritual gifts, tools that we can work with in our daily lives. In the past I've received a crystal wand, a protective cloak and a few other gadgets. This time I got an ankh, a protective cloak and a few other gadgets. This time I got an ankh, that Egyptian symbol that is said to be a key for life, death and immortality. I had no idea what to do with it so I said thanks and tucked it away. Well wouldn't you know, the ankh popped into my mind during the Merkaba activation, and somehow I know that I was supposed to plug it into my Base Chakra. I did, and suddenly I felt a rush of energy going from my Base up my spine, past my Heart  to my Crown Chakra and back down again. It was like I turned a key and let energy flow through my Base Chakra to the rest of my Body. It was fantastic and since then I've been incredibly grounded.

Honestly I don't know if this is what the workshop leaders intended, but it has been one of the most valuable side benefits of the class. Deep grounding makes it easier for us to channel healing energy, give readings and just be in the moment. I also have a funny feeling that this Base Chakra activation is going to help in other ways. The rest of my Energy Body is already adapting to the change, especially my Crown Chakra and outer Aura. Read Part 2 Here!  =)

Here is a short video - the merkaba is the double triangle (one facing up, other down) that spina around the body. It is based on Sacred Geometry.

Awakening of the Illuminated Heart (ATIH)

A couple weeks ago I attended a lecture at the Kabbalah Centre where the teacher discussed the importance of opening our Hearts (and minds) to the wisdom in others. It's easy to fall into the ego trap of thinking that a particular person has little to teach us, maybe it's someone with a "lower consciousness" (total ego trap) or less prestige, etc. The truth is we can learn things about ourselves and life from everyone and anyone. When we think about that, the Aha! Moments start appearing en masse.

I usually shy away from certain New Age themes, but last week I went to a heart healing workshop that was wonderful, even if many of the teacher's beliefs about how we humans came to be are diametrically opposed to my own. There were lots of things that made sense and I’d like to cover them all, but the class was too darn long.

Here are the highlights:

  • The class is called Taller DESI in Mexico (in the USA, Awakening of the Illuminated Heart by The School of Remembering). It looks at healing the emotional body so we can bring our energy into the present. Out of the mind and to the Heart, where we can listen to our intuition and use the mind's analytical skills to iron out the details. "Follow your Heart but take your brain with you" (Alfred Adler)
  • Among other things, we went through a number of meditations that made it very easy for us to connect with Nature, with the Universe and then to center in the Heart, using its energy to create the life we deserve. This co-creation idea resonates with me 100% and I've already written loads on manifesting here, here, here and here. I'll be experimenting with this technique the next few weeks, so stay tuned! To learn the Illuminated Heart's process yourself, sign up for a class or read Drunvalo Melchizedek's' book: Living in the Heart: How to Enter into the Sacred Space within the Heart.
  • The technique involves New Age concepts like the Merkaba, Ascension and other ideas that I was fuzzy on prior to the class. The way I understand it, personal ascension means that we become more zen in our approach to life. You put things in perspective, ground yourself and are less likely to be shaken up by events that might have been stressful before. There's also a global aspect to this, which is when enough of us have become peaceful, collaborative, conscious and proactive, that we're not creating chaos anymore. This resonates as all of my posts leading up to the New Year were on the role we play in achieving peace and prosperity on Earth. It's on all of us, quite literally.
  • This workshop was run by Carlos Cassillas and Paola Marquez, two fantastic teachers who have both been certified by The School of Remembering in Arizona. Thank you both for a wonderful workshop!

My favorite exercise was one where we connected with our Inner Heart. It's not unlike the GAPP process that I learned at the School of Intuition and Healing. You ground yourself in Mother Nature, connect with the Universe and then centre in the heart. In Healing School, the goal is to draw on healing energies from both sources and channel them to the client, whereas Drunvalo's idea is to connect with both, ground in the heart and stay there. We were supposed to receive an influx of love from the universe, but instead I felt like it wanted to give me power. Creative power, manifesting power, who knows? It made me nervous and I didn't want to receive it. What if I hurt someone? This made me think of a book I read last year: The Essential Dalai Lama. In one of his essays, the Dalai Lama mentions that we block our creative power because we are scared of what we might do. This is why Buddhism encourages compassion and mindfulness; our thoughts have consequences. The idea is to plant a conscious seed so that we generate positive karma in our lives and our communities. There are plenty of similarities between Kabbalah, Positive Karma and this Ascensionist co-creation. Maybe this is where I need to focus my attention.

If you'd like to learn these techniques for yourself, there are certified teachers all over the world. Find them through the School of Remembering's website, or read Drunvalo's book, Living in the Heart. If you live in Mexico, visit Taller DECI's Facebook Page for available sessions. The theory behind the techniques reads like science fiction, but the techniques themselves have been a blessing.
